Well, if they are USA only, they are not well distributed. Can't find any within 100 miles from where I live. I would love to be able to take advantage of this, by going into a local store and pick up a couple of these cards, but they just do not exist around here because nobody carries them.

Pushing distribution on these, especially after recent events, would be prudent.

Nope. We are not considered exactly "the sticks" but the local Game Stop is happy to try and get rid of the old style EQ/Planetside 30 day game cards or are quick to try and sell us the Playstation network cards (which can be found in abundance).

If something is not selling (or they feel that it won't sell) it will not be found around here. That is how it is with the economy the way it is.

I would love to participate in this Memorial Mania, it's sad though that I have never been able to locate these cards in Japan. I've looked at many of the major and some minor retailers in Tokyo and the area where I live (just outside Tokyo) and not once have I ever seen a hint of these cards.

I'm guessing the job to distribute these cards is either the promotional department, sales or advertising, though it doesn't really matter since they are not doing so well on actually distributing these items.

I was fine with the two weeks of downtime of the game and sony related websites, it wasn't Sony's fault. However when it comes to distribution of their own products I call foul on these kind of "promotions". You can sound all excited in your promotion articles and give links to where we can find them at (non)participating retailers, and be all "genki" about how exciting it is to have us back and everyone playing the game again ... but when this kind of promotion comes up short (which THIS kind of promotion consistantly does looking at past forums posts with respects to being unable to find them) you make yourselves (sony) look bad.

Design player appreciation events that players can actually consistently participate it. Players are losing out on the chance to participate because it seems retails are not bothering to stock these cards.

Most likely not. I'm fairly sure it would have been stated if so.

And to those that can't find physical time cards, digital ones should work. I can't imagine that they shouldn't work...

/edit: Why is it that these "events" only happens when it's something happening in the US anyway? Us europeans usually don't really care what happens over there. So give us something from our neck of the woods as well will ya SOE...

I'm from the mountains of Tennessee and I have found them at Walgreens, CVS.. Food City/BiLo most have the FreeRealms logo on them...

ps.. most people that work in these stores, unless they play the game have no idea what they have in stock for game cards... I've had them say no, and then find the card rack and have found them there. Get a reply of "oh, didn't know we had them"...

you missed the 15 dollar ones, i THINK that some of the monthly sub cards can be converted into SC instead of game time.

also, since this is supposed to a "player appreciation event", i think that they should make it for SC purchased digitally.

i can easily pick up my cards at local stores but many others cannot so i am not directly affected if it is or is not allowed digitally but it really sems the fairest way to go. at this point, with SOE trying to rebuild trust, doing it digitally as well would be most prudent.

I think this is a good point. The way it is set up it sounds much more like a "retailer appreciation event", which I also would think is a fine thing to do but it should be labeled properly. If that is what SOE is selling, maybe even people in Europe who can't get the cards could accept that the retailers in other countries need support too.

But, as player appreciation it is lacking.

And, as asked above regarding the cards ours are "1500 point Station Cash" cards that say right under the heading "or 30 day game card".

Tried to order from Amazon this morning and just not worth that shipping they want to charge and it said only two available. I'm sure I could drive to another nearby city but REALLY? We should be able to get the same deal in game.

Another thing I've noticed in the past is that when I try and "stock up" on cash after putting 100.00 worth in my account it tells me I've reached my limit and it won't let me add more. So how is this going to be delt with for those that buy the cards? when they get to just over 20k in station cash will it tell them no more? Then they are out the money and trouble for buying the retail only cards. I can't remember the exact amount that I've been able to get my account to but know I sure couldn't add 200.00 in station cash.

I would love to take part in this event but only if it's something I can do in game and not have to go hunt down cards in other nearby cities.

Yeah I have gotten the short end of the stick by not understanding the fine print or language of something and I am confused here too. Hubby just got some 10 dollar Free Realms station cash cards for me from gamestop and I am hoping these are included in the promotion. Since the verbage says prepaid game card it's difficult to be sure.

You can find them at Wal-Mart. They sell them as Free REalms cards, but it says on the front-"station cash" good for SOE games or something similar like that.

I found mine at one of the registers, but the Electronic Dept. Manager said they are always back in the electronics department in the gaming PC area.

Sc is universal across your station id. so if you enter in at FR, you will have access to it in EQ2.

Blockbusters died back in 2008 (closed up). 7-11's dissapeared around these here parts. Been so long, can't remember the last time I've seen a 7-11.

Tigress Loremaster Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,739	also, since this is supposed to a "player appreciation event", i think that they should make it for SC purchased digitally. i can easily pick up my cards at local stores but many others cannot so i am not directly affected if it is or is not allowed digitally but it really sems the fairest way to go. at this point, with SOE trying to rebuild trust, doing it digitally as well would be most prudent.

I think this is a good point. The way it is set up it sounds much more like a "retailer appreciation event", which I also would think is a fine thing to do but it should be labeled properly. If that is what SOE is selling, maybe even people in Europe who can't get the cards could accept that the retailers in other countries need support too. But, as player appreciation it is lacking. And, as asked above regarding the cards ours are "1500 point Station Cash" cards that say right under the heading "or 30 day game card".

I'm sure I could drive to another nearby city but REALLY? We should be able to get the same deal in game. Another thing I've noticed in the past is that when I try and "stock up" on cash after putting 100.00 worth in my account it tells me I've reached my limit and it won't let me add more. So how is this going to be delt with for those that buy the cards? when they get to just over 20k in station cash will it tell them no more? Then they are out the money and trouble for buying the retail only cards. I can't remember the exact amount that I've been able to get my account to but know I sure couldn't add 200.00 in station cash. I would love to take part in this event but only if it's something I can do in game and not have to go hunt down cards in other nearby cities. __________________

They sell them as Free REalms cards, but it says on the front-"station cash" good for SOE games or something similar like that. I found mine at one of the registers, but the Electronic Dept. Manager said they are always back in the electronics department in the gaming PC area.
