Incredible, how about some coordination between the teams? This is just completely unprofessional. No surprise, unfortunately.

Agreed btw. Sorry, mate but generally speaking they do the coding BEFORE they take the servers down. The reason they have the servers down is so they can transfer / activate the new coding and make sure it's functional, then reboot everything and we're good to go.

As downtime for Splitpaw is prime time, any chance of an updated ETA?  I'd like to know if I should tell my guild to stick around or go to the pub while the sun is still up and warm outside.

Also if I bounce up and down like an impetuous child and ask "are we there yet?" will it go faster?

As above relating to new hardware... are we there yet? *bounces*

p.s.  I know these things are hard to give solid answers for, but I'll take what you've got.

To the pub!  Last one there has to get the round in SMILEY  I'm sure I'll be more artistic with the furniture arranging in my new houses after a pint or six!

you know i really dont mind waiting on updates and patches. what i do mind is not getting the truth about when it will be over. or atleast an update once they know it will take longer then expected.

the patcher dose not show any update notes nor dose it show all the servers that are down. how is that not an issue that has been fixed in all these years. why have a  patch notes feature on the patcher if they dont give the patch notes. i shouldent have to come find info on the forums. not that they have said anything  since long before the down time should have been over.

Seems to me maybe you should be hiring more people not laying them off.  I dont think any of the "big" updates this game has ever seen have followed the time tables given to us.

Wouldn't it have been better to just take the ability to use your house offline and let people play the game while you made this change to house owning? I mean Honestly I really dont care that I can own 10 houses .. whats the point ... i can still only have 6 broker boxes so more houses just = more useless junk sitting around.  MORE LAG, MORE bandwith being sucked up so that we can lag in zones more and more

Add +9 hours in the UK and +10 in Germany to any Pacific Time estimate we give.

So mid-afternoon our time is something like midnight or later in Europe.

I know this sounds like an SOE bash but it actually isn't.

To answer the thing I quoted, they probably can't. They've lost so many hundreds of thousands of subs over the years that they most likely can't afford to hire people atm. It's most likely what contributed to them firing over 200 people and closing multiple offices recently.

I'll give them credit that they're trying to make due with the people that they currently have and a MASSIVELY reduced fiscal budget.

In that case you'd probably estimate 12h downtime every time and your job would be saved! SMILEY

Perhaps instead of complaining that the servers are still down, we could be thankful we are getting something new, and that the EQ2 team is doing everything they can with the limited team they have to give us new things!

So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for multiple housing!!!

Hi, folks,

Today's housing feature has to do a lot of massaging of the house database elements. This takes a considerable amount of time (a bit like a world merge, actually).

This means that when we take servers down, they will be down for 2 or 3 hours while we do that process. We should have all the servers up by mid-afternoon sometime (Pacific time).

The servers that are currently running are Antonia Bayle, Barren Sky, Harla Dar, Guk, Everfrost, and Unrest.

The next batch will be Splitpaw, Butcherblock, Nagafen, Freeport, Permafrost, Oasis, Crushbone, Valor, Storms, Sebilis, The Bazaar and Vox.

So be patient with us a bit. Multiple House Ownership and Prestige Homes will be here today!

Guk is not up and gives the error of could not connect to a login server.

Being up is useless if we can't login to them isn't it?

As someone else pointed out, it's the UPDATE that's running now on Guk, not the server being up.

I would say just wait until mid afternoon Pacific time.  If around 3 or 4 PM Pacific nothing is up, then start nagging.  SMILEY

My biggest complaint si that they don't update the server status from eq2players.  Says Crushbone is up, and it may be but the login server I can't connect to isn't letting me in to find out.

Okay, so your telling me I won't be able to play till midnight time EU.... Thats a hell of a lot longer then 3 hour down time.... US Servers went down at 4pm GMT +1 it is now 7:51 PM GMT +1. By my math that is 3 hours 51 Min and if your saying midnight were looking at another 4 hours..

Honeslty thats a bit much not even your world mergers take this long and who gives a [Removed for Content] about owning 10 house's your just taking up what little resources this company has left....
