![]() Just wondering who can blow things up faster while leveling? A Wiz or a Conj spec'd for the mage pet? I liked the killing speed of a wiz and the big numbers, but I've always loved pets. Noob question I know, but I was curious. |

![]() Wiz and Warlock casting speeds are insanely slow at lower levels, so Conji wins there. The drawback is that the mage pet is ultra-squishy at low levels, so the tank pet is better. I played my tank pet effectively all the way up to 90, then switched with the release of DoV. Now, my mage pet is a cannon that never runs out of ammo. I gave him a separate name from mine (because I like knowing what kind of damage my pet does), and he did over seven million damage in one Ring War PQ (third place in the overall parse). It's sick, and I love it. |

![]() If you're concerned about your life while levelling, you want to play a conjuror - it will be faster and safer, and there are very few groups available pre-90. I used my tank pet while levelling too, but recently made an alt and tried a mage pet at lvl 22 - not squishy at all, great for soloing. You'll still want a tank for tougher mobs, though. At 90, I'd give the edge to a wizard. Don't get me wrong, conjis do great damage and we do well in groups, but I think a wizard would do better simply because they have better agro control - other than the one AA which makes the mage draw 20% less hate, all other -hate stuff (like adorns) only works for you. Seeing as the pet will always outdamage you, you might as well not use any. |
