Frost Gryphon

According to the update notes dated 1 March 2011

The Frost Gryphon and Boreal Gryphon tradeskill flying mounts are now usable by tradeskillers level 85 and higher.

My question is, WHY is my 55 Illy/90 Jeweler not able to summon his mount. The quest was completed today ( 8 March 2011) and I get an error message saying: requires privileges at least Guide.

What does that mean? Sounds like it means: Thanks for completing the quest, but you will not be able to fly until you are a 90 Illy.

You need to petition. The tradeskill flying mount goes by tradeskill level. All 6 of my crafters are flying around. Only one of my 6 crafters has an adventure level over 25.

Did the /petition and /bug when I first had the issue. Just think it's stupid to go thru the process for no reason. Didn't have the issue when my 90 Temp/Prov completed the quest, so why on the low level one....

It appears there was an issue introduced to the Frost Gryphon with this morning's update. This should be fixed in the next available hotfix, which we are currently expecting to be Wednesday morning (subject to change pending QA results). Apologies for the inconvenience, we're getting it corrected as soon as possible.

Cant summon the Frost Gryphon from no getting message "requiers privileges at least Guide" 'i am level 90 adventure AND 90 tradeskill and i have both gryphon, the other is decorating the guild hall... so that was my main mount last line : "Special: See Description" ... look strange

So, just the Frost one? If we had gotten that ugly one it woulda been working today?

And yes thanks for getting on this so quickly as I was, quite frankly, annoying my guildies with my whining, and have ceased since knowing it wasn't as usual and correctly diagnosed by my guildies as "what did you do now, Pathetica?"

Pathetica ( always finding new ways to live up to me name!)

Thanks for being so on top of this and hopefully getting out a fix tomorrow. SMILEY I was really looking forward to flying today, but things happen and I can wait another day. I'm just happy to know it wasn't just me.

Would be interesting to find out how something like this gets changed.

ETA: knowing the history with TS mounts it'll get fixed but have an adventure level requirement which will need to be fixed...again.

Should be fixed as of this morning's hotfix - and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all! It's one of the (many) challenges that game designers face, trying to make things that other people will like even if we personally don't find them attractive. (For me, this includes pink armor - I hate pink - but I know others like it!)

I was very happy the artists had time to make the boreal gryphon as an alternate choice for the folks who disliked the frost gryphon during beta - and clearly there are others who strongly prefer the frost over the boreal. As long as there's someone who loves each of those poor baby gryphons, I'm sure they'll grow up happy ... just don't let their parents hear you calling them ugly
