Dear Developers:  Is it intended that named mobs drop *only* appearance armor?

If certain named mobs are intended to drop appearance armor, those mobs should be OPTIONAL for zone progression.

But still, the mobs we are seeing drop this armor are not tank n spank mobs.  I'm not saying they are overly ridiculous or anything, but seriously?  Appearance armor ONLY?!?!?!  FFS put something else in the box.

Considering most NPCs that are triggered by quests usually drop nothing I thought adding Appearance items to them as drops would be welcomed. This is not the first time quests have been required for progression.

It might not be that obvious on your first run that the specific named will not be there the next time... SMILEY

They are repeatable either way in case you want the appearance gear.

And the appearance gear looks pretty cool, at least Vethilot the corpsemonger's does.  The head item for example looks sort of like something you might recognize from a very popular, very old science fiction movie.  I wonder if that style continues throughout the entire set from him.

I think the main problem is people don't really understand how ToFS works or why those named exist.  Its so unlike how most instances are put together that I think it just discourages people when they kill a "named" and see appearance gear drop.

The reward is completing the quest. SMILEY Also completing all those quests 2nd floor - 7th floor unlocks the best loot in the Tower.

Was this English? Ever heard of punctuation? Talk about hard to read...

I personally think that getting some appearance gear would be way better than getting nothing. Ya just can't make some people happy no matter what you do.

The named that drop appearance gear are optional.  You don't have to do the quest everytime you go in there, even if you do the quest you don't have to fight them, they don't block your way to the next area.  You don't want the appearance gear then don't kill him, don't even put the effort into spawning him.  Just pretend he doesn't exist and it doesn't effect you in the least.

Note: They didn't take up a 'slot' in the zone, you still get the same number of loot dropping normal named as you would have anyway.

Wouldn't this be another disincentive for experienced players to not include new-to-the-zone players in their PUG?

Its like this or worse since they introduced sets and raid sets 1 tier ahead of the heroics. Rarely a PUG for Shoulders in CMM, no PUGs in GuK, PUG only for very few classes to Erudin Palace. PUG to Hole for Dartain and Lucan was a pain to get a (small)group going.  PUG players like me adopt to it since years. Is this good ? Not really, but so is life. There is no way to stop rush farming for certain drops. They do the zone for just one item until they get it.

We still got some very good PUG players who are able to beat anything with even weird setups and who are willing to spent some time into the group.

How do you have it spawn a second time, if it is repeatable?
