It has been said enough the discos can be rolled back, not the entire world. All those that are talking about how mad they would be and unfair it would be to roll the servers back have you even considered that it isn't exactly fair that you have had enough time to gain ~10 AA points, gear, faction etc and we are left with nothing.

I have presented a way that SOE can at least handle this in a semi equitable fashion for all that were prevented with potions or granting a commensurate amount of AA/EXP and handling the people that stacked up quest completions to turn in that expired. Rolling back the discos is not taking any true progress away from anyone and any discoveries were made with an unfair advantage.

SOE has rolled back the servers several days in the past to remedy exploits and abuse so it can be done and it should be done, but it can and should be done w/o a loss of the progress that was not gained without an unfair edge.

As I said earlier, soon the hamster will be back with the Trident Layers and they can use it to re-attach the ram in the log in server. After that happens we should be golden. Just so you all know, asking SOE for anything...at all...even a roll back...as compensation for messed up quests or your time and money lost or just for frustration...is like asking a bank to give you your money back after you deposited it in their bank. It just is too much to ask. When you pay for things before you get them, you get whatever that person feels like giving you after they have your money! If things weren't that way in real life we would need the services of a third party company like Paypal...er...wait a sec...that company exists, doesn't it? So, can I pay my subscription fees and for any future expansion with Paypal from now on?

The could roll back the discos, those that got them got them with an unfair edge, not like they were exploiting or anything.

Rolling back the discos on Everfrost would be semi fair but they should be rolled back worldwide, all players that were locked out given the 75-80th percentile of AA/EXP gained worldwide. I'm not advocating taking anything any from them. Plain and simple there is only one fair way to handle the discoveries and that is to roll them back worldwide, and for all that were locked out of playing they should either be awarded EXP/AA or given free 100% AA/EXP pots that will compensate an equal amount of hours usage for the downtime they incurred. This still leaves an incredible gap for gear/questlines and access to better gear quicker. This is not the scenario you were describing, but how anyone could find this unreasonable/unfair or unequitable on a worldwide basis is being selfish.

Words can't even describe how incredibly dumb this post is. Unfair edge? Exploiting? SOE has done roll backs for far less - EQ1 roll back because 8 people found and used an exploit (simply resetting those 8 toons and BANNING THEM would have been the correct response).  I'm sure they can get even dumber with those roll backs to; lets not tempt them please.

These times are fictional, but I think the only equitable solution is this.

Assuming the Servers came up at 3 PM, but these Everfrost issues aren't resolved until 11PM. An 8 hour discrepancy. So any discovery made after 11PM on Everfrost is counted as having occurred 8 hours earlier. This is in effect for the first 24 hours, then clocks are re-synchronized going forward.

Discuss.

WAIT! Not you, husband of Solstyce, you have work to do.

Obviously reading comprehension is not one of your stronger points I SPECIFICALLY said it was not like they were exploiting.

I don't want them to roll back the servers so I can have some small chance at a discovery, I want them to roll back the servers (at least on a discovery basis as I have said over and over) so that it is fair for EVERYONE.

No one here is crying, you are simply a delusional person that will find themselves banned should you attack me again and they take the action they should.

Well, I had all my toons on the character select screen for a while when the server was locked, and then down, and now its back to four listed. Maybe we could all go back to Blackburrow and leave these problems behind us? =)

No what they should have done is been honest with everyone -- letting us know they were behind on their deadline because the marketplace is their #1 priority and then letting us know we would have to wait a few more months for the expansion to be fully tested.  That would have been the RIGHT thing to do.

Now the only way they can truely be fair, is to roll back to before vellious came out, with stripping everyone of Vellious access and just scheduel another launch date.

Can we all just direct our frustration at SOE? Maybe start prank calling their customer service lines and try to order a pizza? Roll back or not, there is going to have to be some impressive stuff waiting for me in /claim or in station cash for me to ever consider another pre-order after this. The roll back is kind of a moot point until the server is fully operational...which looks like will not happen for a few days.

so wait that "few mins" is now 2 hours and still no update about what is going on since rothgar posted..... ROTFLMAO this is just great,

time for fix things:

few mins = few hours

few hours = a day or so

in a few days =  2 weeks

next week = 3 months

a month or so = 1 year....

simple math they go by lol

I've said before.. they don't speak "English" they speak $med Ca$h.

Only time when English and $med Ca$h become understandable on both ends and where time is precise is when it is concerning a broken item in the marketplace or putting a new item up on the marketplace.

Uh oh...when customer service goes from the "All of our resources are going to fix it" to "We are working on it" to "I am taking a lunch" to "It should be fixed now" to "I have not received any further information yet." you know that you are truely hosed and you might as well toss the server in the trash and go buy another and have everyone start at level 1 all over again.

We seem to think SoE cares about toons missing out on mission turn ins or discoveries for some self imposed / guild imposed reason. You took a gamle on the server(s) being up in time and lost. The only thing they should care about is that they've taken all our money today for a product they claimed we would be able to use today. Then again, we could play on another server... They don't have guarantee's to say that servers will be up that our 'main' characters happen to be on. Yup we're SOL.

Asking for a rollback because some people could get on and get some AA, quests, discos etc while others could not is kind of silly.  That would set precedent for anytime some part of the population couldn't log on (scenarious like this fiasco have happened before) would be able to cry for a roll back.  We'd be getting rollbacks every other week.

Yeah, I was able to log on, get a dozen or so quests done, got crappy AA and I'd hate to lose that.  Someone who couldn't log on didn't lose anything.  They just weren't able to gain anything.  The people that do have a legitimate complaint are those who are having quest timers expire, and Joshua seemed to think the GMs would be able to help them.

The whole thing sucks and someone is going to get all [Removed for Content] over how SOE handles it.  One group of people will be mad at the resolution.  I do think SOE should man up and give us some sort of compensation, throw us a bone.  We paid a heck of a lot of money for an expansion (more than an expansion is worth IMO) and deserve to have a working product.  Maybe they'll spend our money on buying new hardware for our piece of junk server.
