So after getting "shafted" with the /camp "feature" I closed my account for a few months.

I then renew to an SA sub and log out the 7 chars that I want to keep playing on a regular sub last.

Yeah you guessed it.  I actually got 7 chars with 5 of them being the ones I wasn't prioritizing.

I will refrain from saying how I really feel so let’s just put it this way the “support” I got all told me to buy SA (umm hello) or to delete chars.

This method was the suggested way from the DEVS here on the forums and has been the way since a long long time ago.

What really ticks me off is I could have bought 3 char slots for the money wasted on the SA.

So is it not official policy to log out chars last that you want to keep for a Reg sub or not?

So I either pay for char slots and get random slots opened or pay for SA?

What "/camp feature" are you talking about.

It was a flaw in the Station Access accounts that was fixed a few months ago. Folks would get a SA account, giving them more character slots... fill the slots with toons... change their subscription to a standard account... and still have access to the toons over the character limit by just /camping directly to them.

So let me get this straight... someone is complaining because SoE fixed an eploit they were using?

Since character slots are available now SA is only worth it if you play other Sony games.

yes that's correct.  For a very long time I want to say years - you could have more then 7 with access then go back to regular and camp them.

Just buy the character slots, it's not a big deal.

Also I don't see how it didn't work with the logging in the characters you wanted to keep. It worked just fine for me.

Then I bought the character slots .

I just loled at this maybe SOE should charge you for exploting a bug for a better term of word, and don't forget all you who whined about the no notice, they gave you about 7 days  think to sort the chars you want to level which in all fairness they could of said tough.

here is what was said

We've been getting a lot of calls about the character slot change, so to try to let everyone know what we're doing all at once, here's an announcement about the subject.

First of all, there were lots of accounts out there that had extra character slots beyond the limits of their current subscription.

We made a recent change that fixed that issue and brought the limits back to where they were supposed to be.

However, we did that change without prewarning you folks...which was an error on our part.

So we're going to do a one-week rollback on that change to allow you to shuffle stuff around on your characters and ensure that the characters you want are left in your remaining slots before we reimplement the change.

On Tuesday, August 24th, we'll roll back the change. At that time, you'll be able to access all your characters, regardless of our account slot limitations.

For one week (7 days) you can freely exchange stuff back and forth between your characters.

Then on Tuesday, August 31st, we'll reimplement the fix and accounts will be restricted to their proper number of character slots.

BEFORE AUGUST 31st, just make sure that the last characters you log into the game are the ones that you want to keep. Then, when we reimplement the fix, you'll be left with your most recently-logged characters, and you'll be good to go.

We apologize for the inconvience we created by not pre-announcing this change. But this should let you do all the shuffling you need to do before the fix goes back in.

As for the SA just buy extra char slots from Market place and buy a years sub if you can afford it, its what ive done and am saving around £120 per year since I only play EQ2 now..till rift comes out anyways :p

No

I'm complaining because the system since design and as stated by DEVS is that if you go from a SA sub to a Reg sub the last characters you logged will be the characters available to play.

But this is not what happened.  I followed the recommended procedure and ended up wasting 29.99

And the “support” I got told me to sub to SA… ummm

Yep and that's why I unsub'ed. The 14 day char "fix" didn't work either and I got about the same amount of "support" as this time. Zilch...  It seems as if the logging is working backwards but you don't know this until you switch to a Reg sub...

No the system didn't work in the free time either- that's why she cancelled

The day after the "fix your chars" ended I had the wrong chars available

Do people even read posts before they reply?

They gave extra days with /camp for people to fix their chars how they wanted them after the initial change.

I had some issues when I switched to a regular sub from station access, not having the right characters available wasn't one of them. My husband also had no issues making sure it was the right ones that stayed. The only people I know who had any issues were the ones that did not bother to log in their chars in any particular order or ones that didn't have a sub at the time the change was made so couldn't log in their prefered characters and it just took whichever ones.

While the advice you got was poor, simply buying slots would have solved your problem and you would have had no need to contact support. They've been available since sometime last October and were even half price for at least a day or 2 during frostfell.

BEFORE AUGUST 31st, just make sure that the last characters you log into the game are the ones that you want to keep. Then, when we reimplement the fix, you'll be left with your most recently-logged characters, and you'll be good to go.

BINGO

There lies the problem, it hasn't worked, twice-

The first time was a free fix, the second time was a 29.99 mistake.

Right it didn't happen to all accounts. Some accounts also lose expansion access when they sub switch to Reg.

Yep simply buying slots would solve my problem but that is only one solution. The one I chose was a DEV recommended option.  But it didn't work and know I feel like I'm playing the shell game with SOE because they want me to "buy" an SA sub, again.  It's like  psst hey buy this it'll work THIS time...

But now if I had that 29.99 back I could apply it to char slots. I had a plan to buy the 5 extra slots over time but wanted to have the chars available in the priority I wanted while I waited to get the extra slots and since last logged chars is the way it's been forever and Dev recommended I did just that.

The day after the "fix your chars" ended I had the right characters - wanna know why because I actually took the time to move the stuff I wanted around and deleted the characters I no longer was supposed to have access to.  Now if you didn't bother to delete the characters you no longer "wanted" ummm...what exactly did you think the time was for?
