The button sensitivity really needs to be looked at.  I have to whale on mine repeatedly to get it to register the touch.

One major issue I have with the Android version of this software is how it handles the password field on login.  After logging into the application at least once, the password gets stored in the "autocomplete" list and starts popping up in plain text as soon as I type the first letter of my password.  I have never handled the designing of Android apps, but other applications I have on my phone that have password fields do not try and autofill for the password after one login.

It's not like I have tons of people handling my phone and attempting to log in as me to the application, but it's a bit of a security issue.

Any other droiders care to share?

From your home screen hit your button to bring up settings > applications > manage applications > eq2 companion > uninstall

Thanks dear! Much appreciated! Done done and done. Sadly,  when it asked me to give a reason for uninstalling I had to be truthful and choose the "App is defective" reason. Until this works, what else would you call it?

Overall pretty nice app....when it works. That said issues that I have noticed (some may have already been brought up)

Device: Apple iPhone 4  iOS 4.2.1

1. when trying to load the map most of the time it says "File does nto exist"

2. The ability to send email to entire guild. You enter guild as the character name like you do in game and it just says "Character can not be found"

3. Last but not least.....MULTITASKING!!!!! It would be great for the app to stay connected to like guild chat when you try to switch screens. Maybe give a Push notification of a new message when the app is running in the background.

Am i the only one who think - didnt read all pages prior so pardon me if its been mentioned already - that the application is sort of designed backwards or at least.... impractical?

The fact that i have to select a character and cant change it without logging in/out of the application is rather cumbersome. (really would preffer it to work like eq2players where i can do all the browsing i WANT wihout logging in, only when i wanna do specific stuff (like mail and chat) do i need to login.)

If i absolutely HAVE to login, i would prefer an interface that logs me into one account, and then in the menu system allows me to chose an active toon so to speak for toon-centric operations, like mail and chat. For browsing toons i would want to select a toon at the time of browsing, and i would TOTALLY still want to be able to browser other toons than just mine, to compare stats, gear etc.

Also, call me weird, but it really seem like it was made with an iPhone and then just ported to the other platforms? Not a good idea really as your not taking advantage of the platforms your port to, and you limit yourself etc. etc.

Also, will all this functionality be available for fansites? will eq2players be updated? will the moon fall? SMILEY

Did you use an open WiFi when using it?  I don't think they've talked about it using encryption or anything so it might be like email and other things that aren't encrypted and are shown in plain text over open WiFi.

This thing better be WELL Encrypted considering it uses your station account to login, and FORCES you to login.

According to Wireshark the Android version at least is encrypted but the data it sent via an AFK server rather than direct to SOE.  Make of that what you will however considering this thread and this thread and all the other similar stories in the Account support forum I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the mobile app was to blame when there's an epidemic of hacked accounts already going on without its help.

I ran a comparison test between the IPhone (Ipod touch touch) and the Android version (Droid X). The Ipod version seems to work much better, had fewer glitches, no stupid login error msgs, etc. The Android version barfed within a few screens with all the usual errors and partially functioning features. I would like to know what guild permissions you need to use the applications guild feature? I tried it with all my toons and not of them worked. Also, want to send email to entire guild, so please fix that one. Please get your android programmers back to work. Thx ADY

Any chance that this app will be able to be on the windows phone sometime soon?  That phone is so much nicer than the iphone or any other phone i have tried using, the only problem is not a lot of apps.  I would love to see it on there also.

P.S. The eq2players search does not work on the website, is it the same thing as on the app?  or is the app working for some reason?
