My question is why isn't this stuff caught in QA before you patch? Why aren't the patches put on Test FIRST so bugs can be caught? Isn't QA to TEST to QA to LIVE the  correct launch sequence for patching?  Why are we seeing so many failures in the process and why is EVERY SINGLE patch causing issues?

I've been asking this question for years and still not received a good answer for it. The only answer I can find is that the QA team must be nonexistant due to other games and the expansion?

Hugs and cookies for the devs. This isn't YOUR fault. But it is a fault of the process being broken somewhere.

You must not work in software development.

Or if you do, you work for a company that spends 9 months in a test environment before pushing a patch to live.

Zol how much longer?  Between a computer issue and the holidays today is the first day I will get to play in almost a month.

I agree with Lil.  You would think things would be tested before release.  Unfortuneately it has been posted and posted the same question and it never changes.  But you would think that if they would quit changeing everything the problems would stop.  I honestly think they like making more work for themselves, job security and all.  My biggest complaints are this is a 6 year old game that runs porely on new computers that are more then capable of handling bigger and better, the constant every single week updates to change something that doesn't need to be changed.   Even with all the changes and the constant bugs this is the best MMO out there.

For this dreadful and dire inconvenience, coming as it does while Frostfell and the Gorowyn market is on, I will accept as recompense an overhaul of the Baubbleshire, including a Norrath travel globe, scaled work-stations in-zone, the installation of regularly used NPC's, and larger housing. And cheetos for my ratonga.

I'm not sharing my eleventy billion copper.  No way, no how.

Unless of course they make money weigh something like it did in EQ1 - but even then, I probably won't share!

All of this because they just had to fix a few adornments to read correctly? Couldn't this patch have waited until the usual tuesday downtime?! Alot of guilds scheduel their raids around the tuesday downtime.. why dont you guys atleast fix something that actually matters if your gonna pull a leeroy during my guilds raid time! We were supposed to start back raids today after a 2 week holiday break! wtg soe!

Of course, on server and network status, it lists Permafrost as being up...  Even though it's still locked.  Humph.  I may be forced to actually work out.

It's still locked! I took the day off to get scads of Frostfell stuff done! My peeps need E'ci tokens! I want my lowbie crafters to make stuff, and dammit I need more ratonga toes!!!! And I'm at work tomorrow!! PLEASE give us another weekend of it!

Although you could take down all the decos everywhere, they do get in the way sometimes!

And WHY do they have to make the ratonga toes so rare anyway? I hate having to buy things off the broker because the game makes it so that nerds with nothing better to do than be in-game all day are the only ones that find the unusual things! I probably have more RL discretionary income than them!!!!

Yup, I checked that out too. Absurd. some things can just wait for a regular weekly patch. This is one of them.

I guess I'll go play Pettville. SMILEY

Out of curiosity:

1.   why did fixing adornments to show where they could be used affect the UI in any form or fashion?

2.   Are the same QA peeps who signed off on this patch going to sign off on the fix?   Why?

Oasis doesn't show either, it hasn't the past 3 downtimes.  Can't imagine why, we've grown since the merger, I'm sure we picked up 10 more ppl.

We should now be considered a server no?

What are you saying? Is there a suggestion that SOE are not being entirely straightforward with us? Next you'll be telling me that not everything I read on the web is true!!! Outrageous!
