If you read his dialogue carefully, its the same style of dialect used with Robin William's robot character in Bicentennial Man

Thank god. My fear was we were going to get "Dobby is Carthington Potters friend..." or "Kreacher can't believe he is serving a muggle..." to a warrior pc. I would have had to kill someone.

well not all of his dialogue, but some that tipped me off was

Good morning sir.  May I say Sir is looking radiant today.I shall be happy to be of service, Sir.  I can accompany Sir for an hour before I shall need to return to my duties.

Those were the lines I was basically talking about...

Should speak more like a dwarf, IMO.

"Hail t' ye, sir. Ye needin' me t' run some errands fer ye? Get me an' ye an ale?"

You say, "I need you to come with me for a little while."

Grunor (Coldain butler) says to you, "Aye, but I'll only be out fer a while 'fore I need t' come back an' get an ale an' punch that durn 'tonga ye got livin' under yer stairs out."

He needs a beard, too.

Not all Dwarves need to be stereotypical . I see nothing wrong with a dwarf speaking in a more educated manner that reflects his position.

Egh I think saying this is bicenntenial man is a stretch.

If he was saying "One, is glad to be of service" then maybe but Bicenntenial man main theme was he always referred to himself as ONE when he was being subservient to others.

This item is such a disappointment.

Don't get me wrong, its an amazing item, but limiting its use to only houses and not guild halls was a poor choice.

Another item that just takes up space.

No, not all dwarves have to be a trope dwarf, I suppose. But I wish there were an option to go from Bicentennial Man to dwarf.

Claiming that a dorf talking like a dorf is because they are uneducated is very offensive. Ah figured they spoke that way the same reason the frogs speak the way they do (more of a physical/racial speach pattern than a sign of intelligence)

Should I have said 'racial speech inpediment' then? That would be a little more offensive I would think, not to mention inaccurate since not all frogs, and not all dwarves obviously speak like that. Because you know, every member of every race acts and speaks, and thinks exactly the same way.

Yes, not all dorfs would speak that way (considering the coldain dorfs are a seperate species of dorf than the current version) but implying they speak that way because they are ignorant/uneducated is wrong

He actually does say that sometimes!

My problem with him (or maybe my problem with illusions?) is that he only acknowledges vampires [edit:  as in the BLC vamp illusion]...  I'm either "darkelf"  (why no spaaace... %r gives it a space...)  or "vampire"...

I want to be the most undeniably evil void residue he has ever served dangit!

this butler is one of the funnest little things I ever got. its the first time I actually liked the "pet". I dragged this thing around with me all day yesterday.

now... I want a french maid.

doesnt even have to be ingame - just send one to my house.

I have to say I did like the Butler probably wont use it for my "poor" paladin (although as a woodworker he has already cleared a lot of plat) who still lives in a two room...(it would be like an elevator in a outhouse [Roadhouse Ref] it wouldn't belong). I would like for when he acompanies me to at least inform me when he has to go back and finish the chores. SMILEY

Also some of the Dialouge I would love to have more then one answer to choose from, woud also like know the name of those in my employ (option to name?).

All and all a Nice item!

Now, waiting for Teir'Dal Upstairs maid, Halfling(good)/Troll(evil) cook (or swap the G&E)

I have no problem with a beard, although I think the Velium in their System makes that rarity if you look around New Halas. Perhaps a close cropped neatly trimmed beard would be possible?

Perhaps a Van Dike(actualy spelt with a Y but the censor freaks at it) or a Fraz-Josef

Has anyone been in a group with a bunch of these butlers yet or even a raid? I haven't but I can see some potential problems.

While I was out with my butler in tow, I thought that I would dismiss him early so he could get back to cleaning my apartment ... but I couldn't find an option to dismiss him. I was unable to find an pet icon in either of the spell windows. Has anyone else been able to dismiss him early? The butler totally needs a dismiss option.

I hailed him several times in my house and I loved some of his comments. like asking why all my friends insist on wearing platemail and carrying weapons becuase it scuffs the floors...saying that me disappearing for long times and coming back with strange injuries makes him wonder what I do for a living...that he just cleaned the floors and I should try not to drop my weapons on it.. lots of funny little sayings.
