Mistmoore/Permafrost and Kithicor/Butcherblock Server Merge Discussion Thread

Well all we can do is accept the changes as they stand. But all us ex-mistmoore ppl will hold the name and we welcome our new neighbors on permafrost. Hope you dont mind our initiation of peeing our names into your fresh (to us anyway) snow.

Ok ok maybe not all of us hehe but we this will show that the great lore behind the name of EQ's most infamous Vampire will still live on in undeath (suffix name hehe) especially with the upcoming Feb Velious rewards.

*hears knocking at his Halas door* DOH the perma police already? *runs out to patio and tosses snow off the deck to disguise his penmanship*

If anyone does stop by though after it's all up and going before I get the chance. I got a buffet table set up in the main room with lots of food, and a bowl of chilled eggnog on each end of the table, help yourselves before the pets get to it.

That reminds me I still gotta finish decorating that place sometime this weekend.

LOL feel asured that is quite safe, a barbarian has certain things to live up to. Food and Drink are all for friendship and the belly lol. The other was expressing artistic nature in the fresh snow that fell so to speak. *fresher then our mistmoore snow to us anyways lol*

That is assuming there are no server glitches or bugs that might spoil the buffet table. *grabs another slice of ham*

In actuality, I don't care, at least not today! I'm just on a break from baking cookies, which was my plan for the whole day whether Permafrost is up or down. Though, I do worry over my 'babies' .. don't want anyone getting accidently lost, dropped or *gasp* "x'd" ...

Btw .. about Server Titles .. Why do only the 'new' kids on our Server get Titles?  Shouldn't the home server get them, as well, to show that we were there 'first'? It's kinda like the Red team vs the Blue team but only the Blue Team gets Team T-shirts!?!

According to Server chat last night there's hopes that you'll have a Server Chat Troll that will put ours to shame for comedy relief.  I'll leave you all to figure out who the Server Chat troll is after you all have logged in and read chat for a while ..

Other then that, had a bunch of stuff I was gonna do today and it snowed. You dont wanna be driving in this area with people that arent use to snow ( ima yank living halfway down to the south &nbsp. So stuck packing some more getting ready to move in the next month or so back north and bored.

It appears to me the regular in game chat is down also. I have seen no chat at all on any of the level chat channels.

I have been on Nektulos for about 2 hours and I am only getting guild chat and ooc chat.

No worries after the first day the snow isnt as fresh and fun for artistic ventures. As for server chat trolls for comedy relief? I would say that usually a more combined effort. While some are great for a few 1 liners here and there. I usually find it's more of a team effort on a lot of it with the peanut gallery piping in. Ohhh thats a great new title to sign my cards with

In the end, all server titles do is allow those few who actually PUG to be come an excuse for Permafrost to see a bad-skilled Mistmoore guy and pass of the whole server as equivalent skill, likewise, Mistmoore would do it to the Permies given a shot... people do it to guilds every day. Just waiting to see the initial server wars going off in level chat...

as for the legacy titles, they mean little as is, but think of it this way, you didn't lose your server name, we did, hence we get the casuals appeased with a title that will lessen their whining to a tolerable level.

That is correct.  The level chat channels go through our UChat system.  Even though they are specific to your server, they are cross zone and handled differently from guild. 

Sorry for the inconvenience.  Hopefully it won't be much longer before the chat part is completed.  There was a delay this morning that is causing it to take longer than expected.

Update:

Both merges are still on track and actually running a little ahead of schedule.  However, we can't start QA until we have the chat merge done.  I'll be out of the office soon so I'll see if Zoltaroth can keep you guys updated.

Thanks Rothgar, people in IRC chat were starting to get anxious wondering what was going on.

If Zoltaroth comes update everyone I might just have too much fun refreshing the page for his sig again though.
