Velious Winter Rewards

'Tis the season for giving! Winter is here and there are only a few short months until the freezing tundra of Velious is open for exploration. Starting in December and ending in February, active EQII Live subscribers and EQ2X Gold and Platinum members (with accounts in good standing) who purchase the upcoming EverQuest ® II Destiny of Velious™ expansion will receive a set of in-game items as complimentary subscription rewards each month.

Looking good i just hope with these nice rewards the expansion is easier for us euro peeps to get hold of than SF was that was a nail biter right down to the end and frankly it looked a shambles i hope the marketing peeps have got thier act together for it.

But that gripe aside nice idea and nice reward(s)

I admit to being a bit confused about this. SMILEY My questions:

1. I assume this means DoV needs to be pre-ordered? If so, will pre-orders be opening up very soon then? Or am I misunderstanding and you qualify for Dec and Jan just by having an account in good standing?2. How will this work for people who went to Fan Faire and are getting flagged for the expansion?

Same question. Want to be able to pre-order direct. Is that currently possible? If not, when will it be such that I qualify for this promotion?

UPDATED: Answered my own question. First two-months' rewards do not require the pre-order, but the February reward requires the prior two having been rewarded AND having bought DoV, which will obviously be available by then as the reward is granted on the expansion launch day.

Near as I can tell, it seems if you have an active subscription on Dec. 14, you get the first set. If it's active on Jan 17 you get the second. For the third set, if you had both active subscriptions (qualified for all the above items) and provided you activate the expansion prior to the end of next year (Dec 31, 2011), when you activate the expansion, you get the last two items.

Is that correct?

The first two sets of items, are they recieved on the days in question (ie. do we get the first 2 items on Dec. 15th? or do we have to wait for the expansion to recieve said items)

And a VAMPIRE RACE??? Like actual race? not an appearance, but you can actually be a vampire!?!?!? Ears are most definately perked for that!

Per the fine print: If qualified to receive the third and final reward, EverQuest II Destiny of Velious expansion pack must be activated on or before December 31, 2011.

So you just have to buy it before the end of next year, and when you do, if you met the qualifiers for Dec 2010 and Jan 2011, you'll get the Feb rewards whenever you purchase and activate the expansion. Cool, huh?

And ooh, I so cannot wait to share the rest of the news. SMILEY

You have to activate the expansion on or before Dec 31. So presumably it'll be available soon.

Ok, Here is my question. Do you have to be on a recurring account or can peeps who do game cards qualify or people who only like to pay one month at a time. In other words, if you pay for a month and cancel the recurrence, then renew the next month and cancel the recurring, do you get the items? I know that your system has trouble with kind of thing, so please check.

OK I got a question, Is this going to be a digital download I cant find anybody with a pre-order, and this is what I coppied from the article.

So when do we get to order it? My wallet is read just need to know where to pick it up from and when. The sooner the better.

I wonder if people will be allowed to buy race change potions from the marketplace once they have the race, to not have to level a new character as a vampire. So raiders can jsut HAVE their character be a vampire

It does not have to be recurring. You just have to have an active subscription on the dates stated in the article in order to qualify.

In theory and to the best of my understanding, if someone subscribes and cancels as you described, they should still be eligible for the rewards. You do have to meet the qualification that you received both the Dec and Jan rewards in order to get the Feb rewards though, as well as be active on the Feb date and purchase the expansion before the end of 2011.

We haven't started pre-orders yet, but you do not have to have pre-ordered the expansion before launch. You only have to meet the stated qualifiers (active subscription in good standing on the stated dates) and purchast the expansion before the end of 2011...not the end of 2010. SMILEY
