Sorry for being negative but really not impressed and kinda annoyed.

After the vet call item etc this is a real letdown esp considering the landmark having supported the game for this long.

Stupid. Why would anyone want a house in LP?Grats on making the 35 people who play this game for decorating happy. Maybe you could have given us a 6-year rewards that works correctly.

The zone in to the house is in the same place as the skiff from Fan Faire.  (SFP or SQ)  Just in case that makes it more appealing.  I suspect it doesn't, but at least if you do claim it you don't have to worry about moving completely away from civilization.

El oh el at the above posters. Didn't you all realize by now the game is for the housing decorators? After 6 years you'd think people would have known by now.

Looks good so far, just wish I had the account time.

Copy-Paste remark inc:

Oh seriously quit your complaining. This has value for everyone.

  • No Cost. Means you don't have to plunker down a new down payment on a house. Especially for alts.
  • No Upkeep. Means you never have to pay house rent again just to access your AA mirror or Deity altar.
  • No Upkeep also means if you set up broker display boxes, you will never lose a sale because you didn't pay your rent (i for one refuse to pay broker fees on high value items).

Those three reasons alone are all you need. Most likely it's 5 broker slots, which is the same as the Skyblade Skiff.

I'm usually pretty quick to jump on the negativity train, and I'm not in any way shape or form excited about getting a house for 7 year reward. With that said, this is really nice and I can't dump on SOE for it. To me, it feels like they tried to put something out that was special. I think this is special too, even though it's not my bag. So thanks for making an effort, still earns some points in my book.

The only problem I have with it is that I have to wait 2 years 8 months to get my 7 year vet award.

These reasons are not all I need. I personally wont even move out of my house in EFP because it's a waste of time. Give me something useful. Hell, give me a 50% shrink item.

I have to say thanks to the devs for listening in the thread about what we wanted for our vet rewards.  For those of you that didn't read or partake in the thread, a good number of people ASKED for some kind of special housing.  I'm sure that this isn't the only thing you get, as other years have given multiple items, so it you don't want the new house, simply don't use it.  Enjoy the other items.  *shrug*

They're never going to be able to please EVERYONE.

We got the mystic billy in year 4 so thats been done. The house is unique looking, definitely should be a status symbol. Considering the free houses in the mage towers still sell for a premium this is nothing to snub at. Its a nice gimme for merely paying the subscription to a game you were playing anyway.

Exactly.  I personally have never used my 6 year vet reward.  I rarely group, I don't box, so there's no need for me to have CoV.  I haven't even claimed it on most of my characters.  But I'm really looking forward to this house.

Different strokes, and all that.

So...how is free housing, a castle at that, punishing anyone? Is it because people expected a free "Bauble of pure 100% Awesomeness"?

Saying that most people will/won't use something is all speculation too. Just because you might not use it, doesn't mean 75% of the game's population won't either. CoV was more useful. Yes. But it probably wasn't what everyone wanted. Nothing is ever what everyone wants.

It's a reward. It's a free house. Why all the hate?

^ This.

IMO it's a fine reward and I'm not into decorating. Heck, unless I got really, really bored mines (when I'll get 'em in a few months) will stay empty except for sale crates, AA mirror and other "utilities".

Meh, that's the problem. We got CoV / vitality refillers before getting the free houses... What's left which isn't either OP or exploitable ?

COV is used all the time, whenever I play the game and group, someone always uses their COV. It's a great item that isn't overpowered that is useful to everyone. The house is just a fluff item for those who like to decorate, not at all suitable for a veteran reward.

Decorate, sell items from home, or use AA mirrors/diety alters.

Not at all, the veteran rewards are part of the game, stop acting like SOE are somehow gifting us with something. We pay for this game remember!

Best thing would be to give people a choice of what they want. Either your fancy new barbie house or something appropriate to your play style. I quest/level my characters/raid so I want something along those lines.
