![]() I really hate to be negative, but the new spell effects are awful. They don't look like natural effects in the world of Norrath, they look like animated comic strip art which does not fit this game or it's players. The spell effects in EQ2 were some of the best anywhere, but are forgettable now. This is not a minor issue, either. Some of the spell effects from EQ1 are better than EQ2 now, and that is a shame. I don't know why the much loved spell effects were changed to begin with, I can only assume it has something to do with thinking new players would prefer them, but I assure you that is not the case. If we cannot have an option to choose the old or new effects, please put the old effects back. I believe I am the only person in my guild posting here, but I assure you, NO ONE is happy. I cannot think of a single new effect on any of my toons I would trade the old effects for. |

![]() I'd love to have an option to have the old spell effects back, but please at least put back the effect (and the player animation) for the paladin spell Consecrate. The others I guess I'll get used to, but I really want Consecrate back.

![]() Wizard: Shackle (any level) Shackle used to have a HUGE, realistic-looking chain that covered the mob. It was gray and rust colored and looked VERY awesome. Now it's just a piddly little translucent three blue chains that look . . . well, pathetic in comparison. What's WORSE I've seen some mobs use the OLD effect on ME, so I know you still use the old effect in-game. Can you revert Shackle back to the old effect, it was MUCH nicer. |

![]() What they should do is a total Rollback!! Then take a long look at whats been said. Give us a way to turn them on and off with a toggle switch. That way the folks that don't want the spell effects can turn them off. Those of us who love them can leave them on. Also that excuse we wanted folks to know who is using master spells and increase the visual spell effects via tier level. I have to say I can not tell the difference between the spell tier levels, so if that is what they were trying to do they missed the mark all together. And for those who say its helped frame rate. I been looking at that too. At best I got 3-4 more frames per second with the new spells. In raid zones I still get the 25-30 frame rate I have always seen. So if were trying to help lag we missed the mark there as well. I think the dev's should take a look at all this feedback, and gosh knows there is enough of it and realize, what they were attempting to do did not work as intended. Nor did it have the effect of making their paying customer happy campers. |

I'm confused about this one. My dirge still has floaty notes and has had floaty notes since the first time I logged in after the patch. It's no longer multiple groups of different colored notes (if I remember correctly we used to have at least an orange-ish set and a pale blue set, can't recall if there was another) but I'm actually very pleased that they've cut it down to just the pale blue set. I would miss them if they were gone entirely, but just having one definitely improves my framerate. |

I think what it comes down to is that as the tank I used to be able to tell just by sounds when some of the major debuffs/buffs/procs were fired off, which was good because I already have enough things competing for eyeball bandwidth. A lot of the new sound effects just don't do as good a job of cuing me in to what's going off as the old ones did. It's not just that they're different, it's that they're not as distinctive and/or not as readily audible as the old ones. |

![]() The buff which gives the blue notes is Don't Shoot The Messenger. I have a Dirge and went looking for what until cancelled buff gave those. |

I know that the one that was in my screen shot has the Don't shoot the messenger, asked him to turn it off and boom not blue notes. So for some reason I guess the trouby one never had the blue notes. I just hope that they decide to leave the AA stuff alone, its going to be hard enough to roll back what we have, and I sure don't want them messing anything else up, as right now its bad enough. As far as I am concerned they done enough to suck the fun out of the game, and make it less apealing. |

![]() While on the subject of bards i'd like to make a motion that the bard songs get their original sound back, the new sounds remind me of pacman .MIDIs, case and point is the Percussion of Stone used to be an ominous thudding , a well simulated bass drum, but now the sound barely passes for a percussion intrument |

![]() Well I was on my warlock last night and I must have been titled at the right angle up near the keran scout. When I hit rift, the first time I noticed this, there was several yellow walls of lights comming out of the ground, it was such a bright neon yellow it washed my screen out for just a second, I could not see anything but yellow. Im guessing you have to be at the right angle or in somewhere well lit for it to do that. Please set rift back to what it was. |

![]() On Graphics/Update/SOE-of-late..... This is NOT to fellow posters, this is on the ODD chance that a DEVELOPER reads this "roundtable" feedback.....so your flames etc will have no effect if you choose to comment. I never post on this thing because quite honestly I have enough contact in game without having to contact it out of game. I read the Patch Notes, Updates, and assorted class forums (Mostly for those lovely people that like to number crunch and tell me which item will give me 0.003% more healing/dps/etc.) As of September 18th I will be cancelling my own, my wifes, and our shared account. Yes, all three. I realize that its hardly a drop in the bucket from the happiness you will be recieving shortly from the F2P crowd, but I want you to seriously look up this account and the accounts that this credit card pays for. Look at how much "fluff" my wife has bought from the Station store even in the past year. I want you to think how many F2P accounts buying odds and ends will it take to make up my monthly balance. The reasons for stopping are quite simple. We waited 6 months for a GU and when it came it was pretty much a slap in the face and some pretties for the F2P crowd. There was no "updating" taking place and it was pretty sad. As for the spell effects, you guys have dropped the ball BIG TIME here. EQ2's graphics were what set it APART from the rest of the eye candy out there. So if you think that reducing the graphics so more people with ancient computers can play with a higher resolution will bring in more cash, then that is totally your choice but we don't have to enjoy it. They say that one satisfied customer will do more to advertise a product then print or graphic medium. I can not force my guildmates and friends to quit. Some of them already have without posting, some have posted. Some are hoping and waiting for a change or a rollback and some are more addicted to me. Please SOE do not rely on the addiction/nostalgia factor to keep long term subscribers. We will eventually clue in and leave. Its been great fun, but if there is no graphic rollback (or an option for both old and new), and the promise of a better update then when the subs come up for renew they will be cancelled. Again, this isn't drama or a rage quit. This was a carefully thought out decision.
