Hey all, so I have played EQ2 since launch but I have never once played a priest class...so I was wondering, whats a good one to roll with that you can heal pretty well but also be able to hold your own while soloing?  The Mystic class attracted me, but so did Templar.  Just thought I would aks for what the differences of the two are before I start rolling new characters.

Thank you.

Inquisitor, Warden, or Mystic are quick (and quite easy) to solo with.  Their quick casting combat arts work nicely inbetween auto attacks and heal spells.

All healers are fine at healing hehe, but the warden will have an easier time healing moderate difficulty content, with inquisitors being more dps oriented, and mystics being more debuff oriented.

The templar is a very strong healer (probably the strongest overall), but a good bit slower to solo with at first.  Really, any healer class can solo easily if you setup your AAs and gear correctly, but I would say that the melee based healers work the best, like I said, for their amazingly quick combat arts and their hard-hitting auto attacks.

Mystics are irritating to solo with because their spells get interrupted so easily.  The faster the casting the easier the soloing.

If you are not that interested in raiding go with a Warden.  They are arguably the best healers in the game for single group instances, they require minimal investment in gear/spell upgrades while leveling, are at least as quick to solo as Inq/Mystic and have a number of benefits in quality of life (faster cast = fewer interrupts, druid portals, evac).  Furthermore, even though you will mostly melee if you spend a little plat on spells they have the bet roots in the game and can easily use root/nuke techniques against things they can’t beat down in the straight up fight.

Want a healer that can solo heal most any group content, solo like anyone's business, not get interrupted while casting heals? Inquisitor is all that and I consider them fun to play.  Steadfast AA in Cleric line means unless you get knocked back you aren't going to see your casting bar go start stop start stop start stop restart.  We have excellent dps buffs and can get darned good parses.  Plate means not getting beaten down so fast (I love my Warden but leather doesn't protect him much from tough mobs).

I solo heroic content sometimes, solo heal groups too.   I also am a raid healer and many times solo heal my raid group.  This expansion Inquisitors got a lot of help with catching up to Templars on heal abilities, tied into their melee dps or reactive damage spellls.  Sure, we don't have stoneskin or lotto heals or sanctuary, unlike templars, but we have faster cast and reuse on heals, and with the right gear we've got it made.
