1. loggin in as usual

2. waiting till launcher finishes his stuff.

3. launcher closes itself / crashes, no idea, didnt do that yesterday.

4. I want to log in but cant, but have to, so can you give me a quick fix asap ? maybe how to launch the game without launcher ?that worked earlier but now have to use the [Removed for Content] launcher each time or the game crashes with error when using direct execute by file everquest2.exe.

I am having the same problem after the patch today.  Ive deleted and reinstalled the files w/ launcher in the name and deleted the cache folder.  Tried setting it to run as adminstrator and in xp sp2 mode as well.  No luck w/ anything tried.

Ok.  I am loading the actual game now.  Not sure what I did.  I went on an ini and log deleting spree and pretty much changed them all to .bak or just deleted them.

hey cool, could you get the command line startup information by using SysInternals' Process Explorer ?

Get it here if you dont have it yet:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...s/bb896653.aspx

Thrn look for everquest2.exe, go to properties, somewhere there must be a long line with lots of command line options, can you try to post those? Just remove session id

I have now attempted to get it to start by doing it over and over, going to properties and turning on run in XP SP2 compatibility mode, and Run as administrator, and 0 success. I have been back 1 week now, and everything has been running fine, until today's patch. Maybe a made a mistake by leaving the other MMO I was playing to come back?

I was having the same issue.  Looks like it cleared up after deleting the updatestatus.xml from C:Program Files (x86)SonyStationLaunchpadLONSCG folder

Now it just started having another issue, where it is not even letting my account and password go through the launcher. I am hoping that this means they took down the login server for a moment to fix whatever the issue is.

Yeah of course we haveto wait for a fix but at first I want someone who is responsible giving feedback and status information. The current situation looks embarassing.

My launchpad.exe closed itself when it begin checking for the cache.

After renaming the newest file at /assetcache the launcher started with no more problems. But you will loose some streamed data (between 0-2gb). If it works, you can delete the renamed file.

Maybe this helps someone.

I'm having this same problem. The Luncher crashes with no message (XP sp3, streaming client version). When I run everquest2.exe I get the following error and then it closes the window.

EverQuestII has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp (10223):00939950

The above mentioned solution did not solve the problem

The client has been running just fine for the last 3-4 months on this computer until todays hot fix...

Didn't I wrote that you have to rename/ delete the newest file of this folder? :/

Maybe my English is bad but I thought is was possible to understand my solution. SMILEY

That procedure does not solve the problem for everyone, as posted in that thread...

this fixed it for me : go to "C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIassetcache" and delete all files. then restart the launcher. (if it doesn´t work, you can restore the delted files) the launcher should create new versions of the deleted files and continue normally. mk thanks to user named "self" for that

@leafreader

I have the same problem, if I try to start EQ2 using everquest2.exe... but it always works for me, if I use the launcher. You have the problem though using the launcher?
