When BGs are implemented for low levels, you might as well turn the server blue. BGs will be the defacto PvP platform at that point across all tier that they are available in.

I like BGs, but I see little reason to seek out PvP if they are available.

In your case SOE should open up transfers on and off the PvP server to any of the PvE servers but turning all of Nagafen into a blue server is not the answer as there is still a large sector of the server that likes and wants open world PvP.

Open world PvP is pretty dead. Will be even more so as they add more BG maps, and open it to all tiers.

My original post has a bit of sarcasm in it too.

It's so sad what has happened. There was more PvP on Venekor after the first wave of xfers then there is on Naggy right now.

I'd say open up xfers to and from Nagafen just to see if it helps. I can't see it hurting since those who don't want to PvP can avoid it at almost all costs.

If open world pvp does not get a fix soon me and my 3 accounts are canceling eq2 forever and all my guild mates and friends that I play with are considering it too (about 18 accounts total). EQ2 was the best game out and slowly but surly it is bleeding to an cookie cutter game like the rest. Going back to age of conan

i started playing EQ2 about 5 weeks after it launched on Faydark server.  i've played nothing but pvp since nagafen launch.

i too will pretty much pack in my 3 accounts....my son his 2 accounts so there's 5 accounts closing up soon.

there was no reason to ruin the pvp mechanics so much and BG's are pretty much the final nail.

giving this a couple of weeks more but no more than that.  accounts expire end of month...i do not foresee a renewal.

Thank all the people who cried about "zerg" and token farming. I personally liked having a place to go and knowing there would be pvp there. I mean who likes going from zone to zone and searching for pvp or finding one person thats questing to gank here and there and maybe finding a good fight once an hour. The KP "zerg" was about all out war that marked the pennacle of EQ2 pvp and now that BG gear is easier to get, and the same as the open world pvp gear there is no incentive to pvp in open world. I mean who wants to go out and look for pvp in a group of 2 or 3 or solo when they can run across a group of 6? I mean at least BGs numbers are even I know that it sucks when you are in Gears and have no healer but at least you aren't duoing and trying to take on 6 people. BGs have no recent list and the gear is much cheaper token wise because people complained that gear was too easy to get and the zerg promoted "token farming".

The BGs are basically the same as the KP "zerg" its an all out war to control land capture a flag or hold a relic and people are "farming tokens" and they are fun. The major difference is that the teams are even in at least numbers and premade groups can join and go fight against the same amount of people without having to worry about turning a corner and running into a larger force of the enemy. Open pvp will die before long and I hope they do open up transfers off of naggy because to tell the truth the pvp community is just horrid everyone cries and has a gimme gimme gimme attitude. If there class can't one shot people, heal, and tank 20 people hitting them then they cry that  their class needs a boost and if one person kills them they cry nerf for that class. The channel chat is full of idiots who rarely offer help to new players and instead offer sarcasm false information or just harass them. These are the same people wondering why the server population is dieing.

Some helpful advice for you all is to stop whining a crying you are the ones ruining the game and just have fun already. If there is a real issue bring it up not this "OMG soandso class killed me nerf them now and boost my class cause I shouldn't be killed by anyone!!."

EQ2 has made the world too big and dont have near enough subs (well actual) players to fill all the zones so it makes the pvp server a bit [Removed for Content]. Add BGs and this has truly ended things for nagafen.

Other issue i see is all the pvp rule changing on fame and how it works. why keep changing it ffs.

One other issue is giving out gear, names (by making them single ups), mounts like candy. This game has become cookie cutter and it sucks.

I forone want to work for things and feel like i have a reward because i earned it. Not logon and have it all handed to me.

/shame on you eq2

Please hurry up and bring us BG's to all Teirs!!!

Eliminating all of the above subscribers will purge the game of some QQing -- Probably because the only way these folks knew how to PVP were in Groups preying on single questers. Now the BG's force some skills!

When I see some of the tactics the "pvp" players are bringing to BGs, Im a little surprised people even had fun on the pvp servers.  I mean seriously, when your greatest skill seems to be spawn camping, are you even a pvp player?  Do you actually gain fame from that?

Fame gain is irrelevant.  You no longer lose fame for dieing, or drop anything besides crap treasured items and a percentage of coin that you are currently carrying on your person.  People do the ''spawn'' camping in open world to farm tokens, at least they use to.  Now it's basically a different guild sitting on the pad in SH waiting for solo's to gank, or getting rocked by any guild that has half decent gear that shows up.

Ya, this is pretty much "Open World PVP" -- Don't let anyone around here try to convince you otherwise. Rarely ever do you encounter a 1 v 1 scenario. What happened here is the elitism, ganking, and griefing portion of their game which rewarded them with inflated egos and tokens got reduced.

Open World PVP. ROFL

Fame, no.  Fun, Yes.  The two best times ive had in the BG so far was when we controled all of the smugglers towers and sat at the other teams respawn, and the time I took the other teams flag into thier own respawn area and held it there for about 5 respawns and killed them.

Says the guy with the OP red adornments.  Perfect example of a broke system and a guy who simply won't admit it right there.  PvPing against groups is what Sony has implied we are supposed to do guys, just cause you get ganked cause your alone doesn't mean you should QQ Open World PvP.  Find a guild that actually wants you for your skill.  As for Cesium, fix is coming.... oh yes... fix is coming.

It must be some nice stuff your smoking.  The bgs are not determined by skill.  Rather, they are almost entirely class and grp determinative.  In other words which ever side has the more stacked grp or gps wins, period.  When you go into the bgs all you are doing is playing rock paper scissor on a grp and raid scale.  Consequently, the bgs are sad, boring and repetative.  Sure they can hold the interest of the simple minded, i.e. those who are primarily represented by that class of player who thinks they are leet because their stacked premade grp just crushed some poor misbegotten pug grp in klack, but for those who actually want competition in their pvp, the bgs are a poor substitute.

The funny thing about spawn camping in the bgs is that it really doesnt matter a whole lot.  The way the bgs are setup, if a side is able to successfully spawn camp its because they have signficantly greater firepower then the otherside.  If spawn camping was eliminated, the team with the greater firepower would still win, it would perhaps only take a little longer.  IMO longer bgs should not be encouraged.  They should be kept as short as possible so that we can all get our gear and be done with them.

Yeah, dont read me wrong, not QQing at all here. I love killing people and look forward to getting some gear to do it with.  Id just like to be able to fight for a minute or two lol.  Far as getting it over with quickly, guess so since were still building gear up but I loved it when I played Daoc and would run into two hour fights holding a keep down.  Covering people in concrete isnt really a fight but if its all just for tokens I guess that what its got to be.

I see a lot of whining. I didn't join a pvp server so I could play EQ counter strike. In other words pvp is not all I care about. Many times have I been questing and seeing a lone freeporter, tracked him down. I have had one on one battles and I've had group battles. The Kylong Wars are still going strong. 2 nights ago there were maybe 12 or more qeynos vs 14 Freeps or so. BG may take away from the number of people here ONLY for pvp, but as long as you have people questing, there will be people to kill. If all you care about is pvp, battlegrounds should be perfect for you.

Dont count us out just yet.

I really just about had it! I have actually canceld my sub, but it runs for 4 more months. I dont why but this time I just could not keep from logging back in even though I resolved to start playing Darkfall even though I really dont care for FPS. When I heard they were uncapping AA on our server my heart did a skip. Man that was great news. Then I heard that the slider bar will work for combat exp conversion. My heart sank. I did the why make the server require even less skill or fortitude to get a great toon rant! ARGGH!!  I logged out. I was really close to deleting my toon. Then I started thinking,, hmm.. ok.. This is still great news about the aa, and level locking at 30! even though I really despise the fact its going to just create even more PL/AA running mentored [Removed for Content]. So anyway I created a toon on a pve server to check out the aa level advancement I would get after lvl 10 and of course it was quite significant how much faster it will move. I know people will just rip through it and my complaint about this is that it now requires no questing to gain aa, all my hard work to get 39 lvls at 23 is a joke now. argh!  Maybe not! I see lots of possibilities with these changes and for once I am really excited about something on my server!! Its possible that this time they have done something to make our server a cool place to run amok again? Even though its turning more blue theres lots more now to do and many more ways to skin a Q!!

Iv been asked why I dont just go play some other game that has great PvP?, all I can say.. if there was I would go there. Since there is not then I am forced to play the game that I like the best in all the other areas when it comes down to it. I am staying on for a while longer. I still want a hardcore server when this plays out. Once everyone gets it dialed in I hope they will seriously consider it. FFA

I cant believe I'm writing a positive reply its been a long time!

Way cool!

Because pvp in t5 is soo much different than t9 but i guess it is fun letting your gear do 90% of the work for you right?

How is having your t5 gear do all the work for you any different than you t8 gear doing all the work for you? Don't be stupid.

Im curious WHY doesnt SOE open xfers to and from naggy now? i mean everyone is running around in BG gear now..NO ONE open pvps except a few stranglers or low lvl tiers and thats gonna change soon with low lvl BGs being added....

LET open Naggy xfers and maybe we can get some fresh meat over here for possible open pvp..

Its too late to complain about gear doing your work for you in eq2.  EQ2 pvp is prehaps the single most gear dependent pvp mmo on the market.  In fact, for the longest time eq2 pvp was all about grinding pve for gear so that you could beat the other guy in pvp.  Then along came bgs and now everybody essentially has equal gear and/or access to gear, so eq2 pvp is about which toon is more op then the other guy.  Class differences have outpaced gear differences.  IMO this is a change for the worse as it alters what was fun about eq2 -- getting the gear to beat the other guy.
