Some savvy, strapping computer-man should embed a poll on this website quantifying the communities mood towards the suggested models. I would it my awesome self, but airheadness is a prohibitive feature of mine.  I tried and totally failed, my poll was weird, broken, and the colors didn't match.

BUT.... if you don't like the roper, or the giant hulking scout for pets, or even the cat (I like the cat, personally)  then help your community by hooking it with a strong argument. Hard, qualified numbers are difficult to ignore. Fight-on my tree hugging sisters! (and brothers)

there's preaty low chances of them getting changed since "all the files are in lock down now."

A lot has been done with "low" chances. If we can prove a ubiquitous community opinion, our chances for seeing change increase. And that's just basic math.

well i guess we could start a petition, and while they are at it i would like them to change the hydromancer, i know not many people use it but i do for little things, so that means i have to look at it still and would want it changed. A fish women (siren) is not elemental at all. lol The water humanoid NPC on the lavastorm docks would be better suited lol just sayin.

Maybe we can take it one step further with an in-game protest. Conjs will not show the new pet, instead we can use the group Illusion earth spell. I will most likely do this no matter what.

I was grouped with my other account when I used that spell and oddly it was just the pet that changed to a golem so it worked perfect. There must be a setting somewhere that makes it so you can't see the change to the player chars.

Maybe someone could shed some light on that.

Ok, so it must be set to not show the Illusion on my char, but it will on the pet which is the way I want it.  So if the stump turns out to be as bad as the pics, I can just give mysellf a Golem pet.

I always thougt it was the best looking earth pet we had anyway.

Thanks for the info.

Given that previous earth pet appearances have included a snake and a rock, as well as a noisy salamander, I'd imagine that the stalactite with arms is probably a set thing.  Pretty sad, though, really.

I mean, you could make the nostalgic comparison to EQ1's Plane of Fear tentacle terrors... but really, if that's the best the art team could come up with, good lord.

It just seems so odd the particular pet choices for this expansion.  For earth, we think TANK pet - big, strong, menacing, intimidating.  And we get a walking stalactite.  For wind pet, we think of scouts and speed / agility, and we get a giant translucent reskinned epic pet.  And for the mage pet, we think of raw damage and fire elementals, and get a burning cat with tentacles (which would have made a better wind pet!).  The pet skins and sizes are all completely what you would not expect (or want).  It's bizarre.

And as for the air pet as a reskinned epic pet?  Come on guys, how lazy are you?!  If you're going to reskin a monster at least pick a GOOD one and make it look cool.  For example, take a large elemental, give it a marbled or granite texture, and glowing green eyes... and voila, instant Conjuror earth pet.    For Necromancers, it could be a reskinned nightblood (as opposed to a skeletal orc on a horse...).  Just 2 quick ideas that took 20 seconds to think up, out of a possible several thousand combinations/permutations that would have been better choices.

The mage pet cat does look original to an extent, and props to the person that designed that, but as mentioned above it just seems out of character and more aptly suited as an air pet.  But they all just seem.... really oddly matched, and almost as a last-minute deal without a lot of thought put into it.

But hey, with the AA boosts Conjurors got, I guess we can't complain too much

I have to admit, the fuzzball (Fiery Magician 6) is starting to grow on me.

I have the Master Earthen Avatar 8 on Live already (yay me), and it's still the same ugly mofo that it was on Beta. It least it's good comic relief.

I am 100% agreement with this post.....It just seems like they were like, oh shoot, we forgot to give a graphic for the conjy pets... hmmm quick find something.. How could they possibly think that we would like the the rotten one eyed tooth pet???  HOW!!! Honestly, I WANT reasoning behind these choices..  I WOULD LOVE to hear the reasons behind these choices... also.. again, cant complain now due to the wonderful AAs we got..sigh.. we were so close to being amazing!  hahah

Expert mage pet is smaller than the Master mage pet. The Master mage pet also has a flame particle effect.

Expert Earthen Avatar is smaller (like an order of magnitude smaller) than the Master, and also does not have the glow effect around it.

I'm not sure which is worse, Xal - glow or no glow.... haha.

But, to further my argument about pet graphics, I suggest to the EQ2 devs to have a look at the pet classes of their MMO competition.  Take a look at WoW Warlock pets (demons).  FFXI Summoner pets.  Aion spiritmaster summons.  Age of Conan.  Warhammer Online.  The list goes on and on.  They're *gorgeous*, and in many of those games provide that "whoa!" feeling every time you summon them, even if it's 10 times a day for several years straight.

EQ1 was the flagship of MMOs (with the exception of Ultima Online, which deserves it's props), and EQ1/2 still set the standard to this day.  You'd think they'd make every effort to keep the graphics on *everything*, including pets (which are the big draw to pet classes!), absolutely stunning.  I don't get it.

Like I said on the Beta forums, there's a name in the Roekilik cave that I think would be perfect for the tank pet, and since my screenshot button works now...

This guy would make an excellent tank pet and there are other versions of the mob for the various versions of the spell

Have hardly used it at all tbh (the tank pet that is..I've been running around with either the myth or the new "cat"), but the lol-value of it is high. Abit sad...though funny at the same time.

It sort of looks like a pile of leaves with ehh... "arms". If you use pet shrink on it, it becomes even more hilarious..an even smaller pile of leaves with "arms"..hehe. Still, the animations are great...it's just not "pet-material" imho.

I can sort of almost live with the cat, even though that too ain't exactly what I would call "elemental"..not even if the king came over and showed me his queen in her birthday-suit. But for Soluseks's sake...fix the darn sound of them arms flailing around. It's really getting on my nerves.

Still havn't used or seen anyone using the air-pet, but I've seen the model (as I guess all have atm). It looks sort of great but....what is it supposed to be? Unless it AE-stuns like crazy-son-of-a-...even on raid-mobs, it's probably not going to be used at all.

So, after a week of griding with the pets, atleast my verdict stands. SOE, change the models for the Conjuror pets.

/Eiz
