Main Paineel questline has bugged out...can't progress

Stuck between Fawzi/Ishaq - should be back to Ghalib for Zahfir but no go. Ishaq and Fawzi are both complete, no interaction anymore to remove names either.

What quest exactly are you stuck on? I've progressed pretty far in, working through the second set of quest lines at Dartain's Eye now.

After the last 'elemental' quest from Mojak(sp) out in the basin you run back to Fawzi and report, then go take his name off the list. At this point Ishaq should send me to Ghalib - altho Ghalib won't have the quest feather -> to Zahfir - anyway...this is where it ends for this toon. No other quests other than Let the Adventure Begin - everything else completed and nobody will offer me any more quests.

Fawzi tells me to tell Ishaq he's done with me (still) - no feathers - but Ishaq says I should help some other citizens...

I believe that you have to have completed all the subquests for the other factions in Paineel, and also have taken all of their names off that book. There may also be another faction or quest completion requirement. I recall something of the kind from beta, don't recall the quests precisely. Also, did you get to or try to finish the potion quest? the one where you kill the mage standing on the mesa in Old Paineel? If you don't complete that quest line, you can loose sight of the continuing quest line as well. Be sure to examine the corpse, buy the potion, and then check for the feather.

This happened to my wife as well. It appears that if you have another "remove the name from the list" step from one of the other sub-quests, but are also on "Control Over the Elements" you can bug it out. What happens is that the desk is interactable for one of the other quests and if you happen to use the desk before speaking to Fawzi it will still "ding" removing Fawzi's name. Then you can still talk to Fawzi and "Control Over the Elements" will complete as far as the quest journal is concerned, but you will not be able to select a reward so the quest has not truly completed. If someone tries to shared the next quest in the chain they will recieve the message stating "Control Over the Elements" has not been completed, yet it shows up in that person's completed quest journal.

Bugged for me to. Tho i got till the quest where i had to go in the cave and get some items from the vermins. After that it just stopped. No one to speak to, no quest to get. I could not examine the body of the mage either so i didnt get potion remedy quest. Did em on 2 different toons in various orders and same happend.

Yeah, this pretty much breaks the whole Mark of Paineel timeline - the main timeline... I've been able to keep myself occupied on side quests but I fully expect to hear more similar experiences unless it's addressed quickly. As a matter of fact, 2 guildies are now broken at the same exact spot.

I go to the necro after turning in the quest involving killing undead prowlers. He attacks me. I kill him. The quest ends. Only by asking in game was I told to get the potion from the merchant in Paineel. I did. I rezed the necro. He told me to sign the book. I did. Others say Ishaq gives a continuation quest then. I think possibly to Zafirah. However, I did not get the continuation quest and am now stuck on the Paineel quest line. I walked all over and no one but City Tasks and the repeatable Rat quest giver wants to talk to me.

There is another quest I think you guys are not doing it. You have to go to the npc in the tradeskill area I cant remember his name, and purchase a potion, which start another quest where you actually revive the necromancer and then the quest will continue.

I bugged this in detail several times in beta on several toons, It seems to happen if you have more than one name to remove from the list and since it goes to the completed quest side of your journal there is no way to remove it and start over. So on beta instead of fixing the quest they just had a GM reset quest.

edit...to make that clear it is more than one name at the same time.

I had the exact same issue. My wife and I ran all the same quests together. Hers completed correctly, mine did not. She tried to share the next quest for me, but got the message that I must complete Control of the Elements. She tried to share Control of the Elements and it said I had already completed it. I also did a /petition.

I am also stuck on Control over the Elements, bugged when i tried to remove name from research log , i had no other names to remove but his so it did not bugged out due to having to many names to remove for me, I had no problem with the other quest up to that point, I also did the quest line on many toons in beta and know it well, After clicking on the research log to remove his name i got no update but the quest said complete but was now is a seperate section in my journal saying Complete as the title to the section it was in, I had to relog for it to go to completed quests but still not able to move forward. Petition has been sent in as well

Same here , problem was I'd removed a name from the Scroll list previously from one of the other quests in the series (the necro one) where I'd used a potion and revived him , removed his name from the scroll while having the Elements line in the quest list also.

Then I went on to do the Elements one.

Now all I get when I try and remove the current name for the ' Control Over the Elements' from the scroll is Ishaq telling me he's heard that I've helped...blah blah blah..no quest ding...nothing.

The Quest is in the completed section so no way to delete and start over , even if that works.

Now I'm stuck.

The problem compounds too...several of the other quest lines on different parts of the contininent finish and then you're suppoed to go back to the guy near the zone in portal , he of course won't speak to you either because he considers you to be still helping Ishaq.

So now I'm stuck on those quest lines too..

Did that quest. Also completed "Completed Arcane Studies." Completed both before "Control Over the Elements." Never got exp/reward/credit for "Control Over the Elements" and yet it says completed in my journal. Still can't get "A Rodent Problem" like I could in Beta. So.

This is another issue.

Don't have to do this quest at all, actually. I was at 50k paineel faction and completely done with every other paineel quest when I did it, because I had forgotten about it.

I quested this line all the way through to high 80's in beta Trust me, it's broken - or at least for mine and several other toons.

And yes, I did revive the necro in the basin with the potion and finished that line.

Here's another weird aspect: my wife and I duoed, killed the Erudite guy (it said "get out of here" in a popup, so we did), never revived him, and eventually got through to "kill 10 rats" and such. So there's some way of NOT doing things, and still progressing, which is obviously weird too.

Edit: to be clear, we DID right-click and try and revive the guy, and that completed "An Uneasy Request" but have never done anything with a potion.

^ Not so. I rezed the necro and put his name in the book. No continuation. I then did Kerra Island quests to the point where I give a kerran some cockatrice feathers to make a peace ceremony. The quest line is then suppose to pick up back in Paineel with Ghalib (according to eq2i) but no continuation.

I got the same problem, done all the quests including the potion one and all the Necromancer quest giver says is I should check out the cave but doesn't offer a quest.

Basically stalls you at quest 27 of a 145+ timeline....

I did same as others, I had both the arcane and elemental quests ready to be done, turned in arcane by clicking the thing. Then went backto Faziel or whoever of the fell blades. He gave me end text said to scratch his name off the list, got quest update but journal and helper had no text under it for what to do next.

I was in beta so I know I had to go click the podium to scratch his name off. When I did, no update (probably same reason no text in journal for next step, wasn't flagged to do it).

So I logged out, logged back in, and quest is gone.

Fell Blades guy still give same quest complete go scratch name off list message, but no update, and podium is no longer clickable.

Main guy in that room just keeps asking if I helped all 3 (I already successfully turned in the other two)
