![]() I have a strange problem. This seems to have started around the time I purchased a name change potion and changed the name of a character on one account. Shortly afterwards, it seemed as though the game was not communicating with the server as normal. Game chat texts and characters could still be seen, but item information and interacting with items/npc's was not possible. Zoning was also not possible. The game then dumped me to character select. After that, and character that I try to log in with on any of my accounts fails. resources and entities are loaded, then the screen simply freezes at "Loading UI Settings". On my laptop I am using ProfitUI, and actually the character has loaded into the game, I can see chat texts, hear people moving around me, but the screen remains black. I created a new character on an account and was able to play for a couple of hours with no problems, though I did not try zoning. When i camped to another character, the problem immediately returned. I tried reinstalling the files, clearing out custom UI's, rerunning the updater on all files etc. There seemed to be a fix a couple of times, but always this problem returns. i made changes to a custom UI on one machine, but not on my other, but both experienced the same problems. It leads me to think that it is somehow due to the name change and some sort of database issue that may have affected my files. At this time I still cannot play. Help much appreciated |

![]() In addition I can go to character select with no problems on my accounts. Only when I try to launch does it fail. I can see that all the correct buffs, journal etc is loading, but still it sticks on "Loading UI Settings", with a black screen. |

![]() Greetings, I understand that you have already redownloaded some of the game files. Let's clear out all of the basic setting files for the game, though. You may want to make backups and then delete the following files: defaults.iniEqclient.inieqhardware.iniEqgfx_dx8.dl lEqgraphicsdx9.dlleqlsClient.iniEqmain.dllEqgame.e xe If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings. Also, have you performed any updates on those computers lately? Specifically, I want to know if you have changed around any drivers and what was changed if so.
