Research Assistant - Research completed, but upgrade not granted

Subject says it all. I just finished researching a spell that took 25 days (Reckless Aide IV), and even got the in-game mail. But when I went to the Research Assistant to collect it, the Master was not granted.

/bug'd, /petitioned, and posting here. Hopefully this bug gets addressed.

That sucks. When mine was done I hailed the RA and selected "Retrive Master' or something like that, and it automatically scribed it in my knowledge book. I didn't actually get a master book in my inventory.

Same here. Aria of Magic researched, mail received that it was ready for pickup. Hailed the research assistant, nothing occurred. Spell is still sitting at Expert. /petitioned Not doing anything else til the problem is resolved.

Same thing here. Cacophony of Blades II. No option to retrieve. I did petition it and did not do anything else, i.e. select another spell to start research.

Same here. But I'm lucky as my toon is only Level 21 and it took only 1 day to research the spell. I received the message and went right to the assistant and there was nothing to retrieve.

As none of these bugs seem to have shown on test,it's got to be a ghost in the machine rebelling! ...of course I have ~ 6 days left on my current spell and hope they squash it by then. I will not be denied my freebie!

Same problem. waited 28 days for Kidney Stab VI - got the in game mail, went to see the research assistant and got nothing but the usual responses. Have the option to select another spell to research and the one I had just completed was listed as expert lvl - damned if im gonna research the same one again.

There were also quite a few ppl having the same problems while I was online - ie not getting the option to "claim spell".

Starting to get annoyed with the number of things not working in game at the moment!

Same. What a disapointment... I was all excited to work on #2 but I didn't get #1. I tried right clicking the RA.

did anybody try right clicking on the RA?

sometimes these things are hidden under the right click menu...normally you'd just get "HAIL" ...but perhaps there's a new option "retrive spell"??

just guessing.

Same here, except my research assistant is sitting at 1hour and 31 minutes remaining for over 3 hours.

What is going on. I have no mail.. no anything. The time just... stopped ticking.

this is irritating. i clicked "start researching" on a spell that had 28 days remaining. obviously i didn't click accept but the time it told me it would apply was 9 days.

out of the 30 days i already applied to the first level 80 spell, it would only apply 9 days to a level 75 spell? what kind of bs is that? i'm glad i didnt hit accept. seriously. while i think this thing is great if it would work (yay free master spells) it seems like a huge time sink to get them.

has anyone found a way around the 1hr 31minutes remaining bug.

i've tried logged out and back in, checking my mail, my bags, my actual spell... nothing. should i bother petioning or is this something that is to be patched?

btw im using the guild hall researcher.

Methinks we have different definitions of timesinks

RA is a time delay, it requires sinking no personal time into it for a result,short of hailing and clicking a button.

I got the same bug. I removed ProfitUI to make sure it wasn't interfering, but same result. My husband, sitting in the same room as me, was able to pick his spell from the Research Assistant without any issue. /petition 'd /bug 'd. Feeling disappointed. =(

And Yah.. I am still bugged. I have not petitioned yet, as I will not be able to be online for them to respond to me since well, I'm going to see Harry Potter!

Edit: Lyssa, is yours stuck at the same time as mine, was it a level 80 spell as well, is yours from the guild hall research assistant? I am not using any UI addons.

I did my research in a suburb RA, got the countdown (actually popped in to check on the status and saw 30 seconds remaining), got the mail and hailed, right clicked, double clicked, etc but had no option to retrieve spell and it's waiting for me to pick a new one.

I opted not to select a new one as I didn't want to somehow erase any hope they'd pony up the first one SMILEY

Same problem here. Waited 29 days for Pentient Kick VI master. Recieved the email that said the spell was ready and to pick it up. Went to the RA and had no option to "pick it up" , it did not auto upgrade and right clicking on the RA has no hidden option. However I can research the same spell again if I want. So I will not waste my time playing with this RA fiasco. I did the standard report bug and petition routine.

I havent had a problem but I researched Hurricane first. Level 50+ spell took about 2 weeks. Perhaps it's only the longer wait times messing up?

Waited 29 days for a master for my Conjurer's tank pet. Got a mail notification that it was ready. Went and got it. Scribed as a level 77 spell (conjurer is level 80) but pet showed as level 76. Bugged it.

Several days later I logged in to find the master completely gone and my pet back to Adept III (Expert) level. Bugged this as well.

Since then nothing. No mention of these problems in hot fixes.

Hrm, I haven't had a problem with any of mine yet. I have a couple days left on my next one. We'll see I guess.

Getting from 185aa to 200aa via 2% / mission cause you completed 90% of the quests in game, that was a time sink, hours and hours of time sunk to get thru it.

hailing an npc and returning x days later is no time invested, only a delayed reward for the effort of hailing it.

Must be the same bug that bit the Vivox voice chat since I can't use that either since 7/07 because it crashes the client. And no it's not the firewall or router or any ports sigh.
