![]() I have not played for quite a while and I am not very experienced at EQ2. I basically have the original EQ2 game and thats it. What expansions are "must haves" and what can I get away with not having until the money tree is full again. Bulani |

![]() I don't know how far along you are in the original content(granted, being able to play in TD would help you if you are low level, and not being able to collect AAP may haunt you, so use your judgement with this advice), but if you can at all afford to wait out, you might want to hold off buying the all in one pack until this fall. SOE tends to publish their latest expansion fall every year, and if they still stick to the all in one offer, that means you should be able to be set expansion wise for a whole year, and with some luck even nab a pre order discount. But if you feel you are hamstrung right now because you can not go to TD or collect AAP(the two most important shortcomings for being stuck with just the original game as far as i can see), go ahead and buy the TSO all in one pack now. That should set you up with all expansions currently out. |

As the Op said they only had the original game, no expansions at all, I would say that waiting until November (the most likely time for the new expansion release) would mean 6 months of severely restricted gameplay. You would have no access to AA's, not be able to level over 50, not be able to visit Timorous Deep/Gorowyn, Sinking Sands/Majdul, the Overealm, any of the EoF zones (including Kelethin) and many other places. What is probably a good idea is to start a new account. I know you would be losing any characters you already have, but, the game has changed in such a huge way since the cap was 50, that it would probably be a good idea to start afresh anyway and the speed with which you level has been altered so much that you would very soon be back at 50. The main advantage of starting fresh would be that you could take advantage of the 'invite a friend' program. Get an existing player (you could use your current account or PM me if you like) to invite you to a trial using the Invite-a-friend program. You will receive a couple of weeks free time to try the game, the game and all expansions apart from the latest and some nice, free, items. Then all you will neeed to do is purchase the TSo pack when you are ready for it (best to buy a retail pack, in my opinion, not the SOE download version as the freebies are better and you can pick it up much cheaper) and you will have access to the entire game

I don't know about that. It didn't take me very long at all to relearn how to play my 52 Paladin and 62 Conjuror after 3 years away from the game. Of course, I DID create a couple of new characters in the empty slots on my account, and level those to around 20 before I went back to my old mains, so that probably helped. The major thing that has changed is the AAs, really. (Aside from the level cap increase, of course.) I had actually quit just after KoS came out, so my Conjuror had 3 AAs and my Paladin had 1. Catching up on those is taking a little time, but I'm mostly doing that by mentoring and rerunning lower-level zones. (Or by being mentored so level 80's can do their AAs.) Of course, no one could ever have convinced me to drop my old characters... I've got too much time and gear, and too many Adept III's and Master I's on them to be kicking them to the curb. And besides, they're fun

![]() If your funds are not all that high, another possablity is to wait until June/July and hop SoE lowers the price of TSO like they did with RoK last year. Or if you are very lucky you might beable to find a copy of RoK in the bargin bin of some of the larger retailers, like Target or Best Buy, not a likly option by a long shot but I have seen copies of RoK outhere. |

How this will be a benefit, I fail to see, as he would lose all his veteran rewards and gain nothing. A new character would be good, so that he can learn the game again. Once he feels comfortable with that, he can decide whether he wants to return to his old characters or delete and recreate them. |
