![]() I will be playing on a pvp server and, given the amount of time I can spend playing together with the odd hours I will be in the game, I will probably not be joining a guild or grouping much. Given this I would be grateful if someone would give me some advice as to what would be the best solo class....with the proviso that I can, at least, hold my own with most other classes if it comes to pvp. I was thinking of Fury or Warden but would be grateful for any advice. Thank you. |

Do not listen to kitten, he's either dumb and knows Nothing about PVP or just wants you to get the back hand of PvP. Conjuror's are the, if not already, one of the weakest classes in PVP, they're squishy, and they require a substantial amount of time before they can get their mass dps going to take out the other class, by then they're already dead, of course this doesn't mean they stand no chance at all.. They just rely too much on skill, gear & luck i would say. If you're looking for a class that can solo well and do well in both PvP, i would pick one of these. Shadowknight, Brigand, Warden, Swashbuckler, Warlock, Wizard, Bruiser, Monk. Of course there are other classes that are good in PVP too, but i they are the ones that i think can solo effectively too.

![]() Conjy's are good in pvp, but you need to know how to play them. Conjy is a bad idea for first pvp toon. Try a Scout ( like swashbuckler, ranger, or brigand. ) I solo great as a swash. Healers, wardens are great solo/group healers. Hope that helps. |

![]() Absolutely scouts for a solo player. I recommend a Ranger. I soloed a Ranger to 80 with no problem. However there is a problem with solo PvP gernerally in this game, particularly at the higher ends: To a greater extent than other games, the type of gear you have has a large impact on being competitive in PvP. Skill can mitigate this, but not negate it. Solo players will have a more difficult time acquiring PvP gear, they will have a much more difficult time getting Fabled gear, and will never be able to get Mythical gear. Several other things to mention. Although there are three PvP servers, only one of them has a healthy population. That is Nagafen. Now if you want to level your character up in a PvE-like environment, then Venekor may appeal to you. However it is really a dead server. Vox is the exchange PvP server. You may be able to get the gear you need easier there, but it too is a dying server. At the lower tiers, (tier 2-tier 4), there are a larger number of players who have twinked out toons. This is less of a problem for new players than it used to be for two reasons; first they abolished level locking meaning that those characters will continue to gain experience from PvP kills and thereby continue to level up, and second, they have improved the amount of experience gained to the degree that players will find they level up very quickly, and tend to blow through the these levels very rapidly. AA ponts are also very important for PvP. There are several ways to gain these, but the most obvious is by doing quests. If you solo play, you may want to turn off your combat experience so that you level a bit slower and are thereby able to do more quests in your tier before they grey out to you (thereby gaining more AA points). Finally, the only way to really become a good PvP player is to PvP. Scouts are a very good class for a solo player to be able to pick and choose their fights, and a very good class that can avoid PvP altogether if they choose to. However, even though you may level quickly, you will never become good at PvP if you merely avoid it. Good luck. |

To be a good pvp ranger in T8, you need lots and lots of gear from raid zones. This is not the case for brigs, swash and assassin's who can excel with casual gear. |

![]() Thank you all for your input, nice to see people can ask such questions here and not get flamed. I think I will try a Ranger and SK to see how they go. Thank you also for the info on the servers....Nagafen seems the obvious choice so will start there. Thank you. |

![]() Always look over your shoulder. Set tracking to PC only for the Ranger. And bank everything before leaving town. You lose your coin and some items when you die. Good luck.

![]() Whoever said conjurer is funny~ all summoners are horrid at pvp. If you want to pvp mostly then go brig/ranger/assassin. If you want a blend, of solo and farming, go bruiser. If you want to solo only at pve~ then go necro~ but you can solo pve on a pve server with a lot less hassle. Bruisers can do a lot of farming other classes just cant~ sorry chanters~ they just can. |

The problem with SK and ranger is that everyone has an alt ranger or sk. Be original and be a necro (or conj) if you ask me. They can be very nice in PVP regardless of what people think and all the gear will be yours because very few people play them. |

![]() They're looking for a solo and casual class to play, with decent survivability. A Conjuror? You really don't want them to stick around, do you? Walking Mage update. As an alt, I'd say that's a challenging class and give kudos for playing it, but for a main, as they're going to be playing on PvP (implying that they currently don't), I'd say that something a little more survivable would be in order. At least until they get their feet wet.

![]() I know they are pretty low level, but my 33 necro is 254/81 and my 19 conjie is 179/63... I rarely lose 1v1's, most deaths are by groups. Any class is fun if you play it well. The best thing you have going for you as a summoner is noone expects to lose : ) And if you wanto talk about higher level summoners? All you need is mythical to be a VERY overpowered ranged in t8, a pvp bow or fabled epic is also very good as well and easier to obtain. If you have a good bow the rest of your gear doesnt matter, please dont speak ever again. |

My ranger has mostly M1, myth bow, adorns, full AA, mixed fabled pvp, raid and T2 void gear. He slaughters the casual player because of the gear difference. Anyone into pvp will always give me a good fight. Some classes are pointless to fight against because I lack "uber" gear. Bottom line: With casual gear as a ranger, you will be canon fodder for Nagafen's pvp'ers I stand by my statement that the other scouts (not so much bards) can be very effective without any fabled gear, nevermind a myth. These classes are deemed "easy" and great starter classes for the new player - especially on nagafen. To the OP: good luck and see you out there P.S. Nagafen pvp for the most part is not casual. P.P.S welcome to the forums kittenkaboodle with your 10 post count |

Swash and brig are the most versatile scouts - but are also very common. Assassin's require some practice but are very effective. Rangers fit in after assassin's. Most fights are close range, therefore you will benefit from the melee scouts (above) before the range until you get your mythical bow - which may be unattainable by the casual player. I was an assassin for a long time and enjoyed it. Once I switched to ranger, I felt the difference instantly. Around 1 year ago, rangers became popular because they were somewhat overpowered. Since they have been nerf'd but people held on to their alts - hence the high ranger alt population. Bards are great support classes and in my opinion more gear dependent that the other scouts. Crusaders seem to be everywhere at the moment - flavour of the month. Summoners are the lowest population class. Necros and Conjurors. In the end I would play a class that suits you - whatever that may be regardless of how difficult. My 2 CP |
