Bump

Fix the lag.

Also, whats with these "pure virtual function" errors I have been seeing and hearing of other people getting lately? Makes me crash a couple times a day.

QFE.

It's not enough that the spell lag takes a massive chunk out of Enchanter DPS, thanks to losing Perpetuality or at least lagging behind on castspeed, the devs have to go the extra mile to nerf the Coercer class in particular.

I play a coercer.. tell me, what is the point of playing a class that in order to parse well, must cast fast when you're constantly fighting 5 seconds of spell lag.

If the last hotfix was supposed to fix lag issues, it certainly doesn't feel like it. I am still experiencing considerable lag and at time spikes the cause spells to hang for 5-7 seconds.

The last "fix" did nothing for the lag.Lag has progressively gotten worse with time and Sony isn't doing anything worthwhile to fix it on live.

Sounds to me like SOE needs to run Defrag and Spybot

same problem here. The last 2 days I'm experiencing terrible lag, can't move and everything is going very very slow. I see others move though on my server.. I had lag in places you didn't expect to have lag. Peat Bog anyone?

It's not my machine, same machine as i had three days ago when lag wasn't an issue for me. So what's going on? Am also running this game for several years now on the same machine and no before you ask I don't have any issues with other programs and or hardware cause everything else is running fine

Can we at least get a reply on this issue? I have guilides who are going to stop raiding because its just not fun.

not going to happen... don't hold your breath.  You' will die and SOE will continue to charge your account regardless.

seriously, a response to this by SOE would be tantamount to admitting something is wrong... something they didn't do correct the first time...  something they knew about in the beginning and decided to not mention.  Something probably associated with the feature where your graphics are scaled down automatically was implimented.

Please don't die, or hold your breath for long periods of time for any reason.  Those are both things I don't want to happen to any of our players.

We recently did respond to the LAG question in our Dev Question and Answer thread here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=442490

So yes, we do know there is a problem right now and we have people working on it.  You most likely won't see one big fix for the Lag because there isn't just one thing causing it.  It appears to be multiple issues that are compounding on eachother to make some zones unresponsive while other zones run just fine.

We pushed out some changes to help with the hotfix yesterday, and we pushed out another one during the day today.  We have more stuff in the hopper that we're testing now and more that are being worked on by the engineers right now.  Additionally we've added more servers to some worlds this week to try and provide more processing power.

- Kirstie

LOL Thanks for the update Kristie...

How about someone provides us with real info as to what the cause of this lag is and the plan to fix it instead of the cookie cutter response that Kirstie provided.

Locking this down.

It's clear that people cannot be civil even after being warned that nastiness will result in loss of thread.

We know the lag is an issue, all too well.  We're working on fixing it.

I know that it's frustrating and we sincerely want to get this resolved.

In the meantime, I'm afraid that everyone will have to be patient while solutions are found and tested.

Thank you.
