The problem entirely SOE fault - it's GlobalCollect fault, hence various games are suffering from this issue... from what someone said earlier, on the 21th january, there was a power outage on US, which seems to have affected GlobalCollect Payment confirmations to all (?) their business partners...since noone noticed it (guessing here), when the automated system from SOE kicked in, those that didn't had the confirmation payments on AS SOE system, got their subscription closed.

SOE CSR admitted that they are / were aware of the problem, so this cannot be used as an excuse.

What happened is the global collect we paid the money to did not tell soe that those people had paid for their subs so soe didn't know so they thought the subs had not been paid for therefore closed everyones account so it is global collects fault for not telling sony all those accounts had been paid for what a bunch of idiots

I do not believe that. My account payment history shows that Global Collect worked just fine for me. It took money from my card, but SOE still closed my sub. Even my bank confirms that SOE got their money.

Player dont gives a matter how many companies, subsidiaries they have .

The major issue here is that  SOE has the knowhow about the problem but does not inform there customers about it.

My account was also closed 15 minutes ago for no reason. Hilarious.

Edit: Or maybe not. I payed Jan 11 so subscription might have ran out? Should have extended it a month anyway like it always does, so think I'll wait and see what happens...

Ok my account got the "Closed" tag on saturday but i didnt bother to post as i saw alot of people already had the same problems as i had aka payment confirmation .

Now its monday and almost 7 pm here in sweden and im honestly abit taken back with the horrendous CS this game has to offer, im a longtime mmorpg player who just decided to give eq2 another chance (after 4 years in wow) but im seriously thinking about giving up on that idea , and no this is not a "bu-hu im gonna threathen SOE so they do like i want" type of posts , im just seriously taken back with how poorly this is beeing handled, i mean if this was a brand new game like Warhammer (who had alot of account issues at start) then i could buy into them having problems with CS but EQ2 is a 5 year old game, stuff like this cant happen in a established mmorpg and definetly not without providing FAST and accurate information to their subscribers, so far i havent seen a single piece of information from SOE that they are even acknowledging that there is a problem.

Truly abyssmal treatment so far, really hope someone get's sacked because of this (i sure as hell would fire anyone imcompetent enough to let something like this happen)

Chat support "maintenance" seem to continue. Imho it is timed too perfectly with billing failure and there is no notifications about it anywhere as far I can tell.

I just cant get it what Sony is thinking about. I mean, EverQuest 2 is a great game, but as i said in posts before the support is a joke. I mean look ..

As Furok said in a post above here, i am here to give EQ2 a chance cause i got quit WoW (im from sweden to btw). Most of my rl friends that played WoW also quit it and looking for another game to play, and all of them mostly quit because of same reason: world of warcraft - wrath of the lich king lacks endgame playing, there is nothing to do and the PvP is broken.

Also after those years playing in WoW i gained alot of online friends as well, and i see alot of them quiting / selling WoW acc's everyday on my MSN ..

And what does this have with EverQuest 2 to do, well .. ALOT, cause MY opinion is EverQuest 2 is one of the best mmorpgs out there atm, and trust me, i tryed most of them. So now when WoW is going worse then ever you actually have a GREAT chance to "snap" up some new players to the game ( like me and Furok ) im sure there is PLENTY more, cause TRUST me WoW is CRAP atm..

But what you do instead? You just screwing us over, no support, not a word, not a mail, no answering in phone .. Nothing. I mean CMON SoE .. I played EQ (1) as well, the support there was a joke to .. I rly mean it, havnt you change ANYTHING in 9 years or what?

Dont get me wrong here, the game is great as i said above, maybe he release of it was abit bad tho, since it basicly got alot of the first EQ's story etc etc, people was bored on it, they needed something new. And WoW came shortly after.. But thats another story ..

Either way i think its about time YOU WAKE UP SoE !!!! Now when you have to chance to make this game bigger dont screw it up god damnit ..

have called the US support line - UK number - got through in about 2 mins - the guy I spoke to was extremely polite and helpful - my info is to be passed on and my account should be opened shortly

- tempted as I was to rant at this guy it is not his fault and Sony needs to address the fact that they do have many non US users who also need in hours TLC *occasionally*

I asked about billing error from one customer support person in PM. I just got answer that it is Global Collect issue and that I should contact account and billing department.

I do not care whose issue it is. I deal with SOE, not Global Collect, so I expect that SOE takes care of that problem!

I did some investigating and it seems there was a problem with global collect purchases made on 1/21/2009.  Because of this, some accounts will be automatically closed today.  Simply contact our support and give them your station name and we can resolve the issue very quickly.  Apparently there was a problem where global collect did not send confirmations that the money has been received.

Thanks for your understanding with this issue.

Does this also affect customers which pay with Credit Card?

I paid with VISA until SOE changed currency to euros and it to Global Collect. Payment source for me is still VISA based credit card.

Eh..?

I pay with a Credit Card and it still says Global Collect in the payment information page in my account.

In my bank info it says I paid SoE and not Global Collect though.

But yeah I pay with a credit card and it affected me.

Same for me. Till 04/2008 my account history is in USD via my credit card. From then on it's Global Collect in Euro. Actually, the whole time I used my credit card for payments.

Yes.  I paid online through SOE's web site with my VISA, as I had in the past.  My dealings were through your site, so as far as I'm concerned I dealt with you, whatever the internal and financial machinations of your site may be.

Hi again all.

We've tracked down the issue and the team is working on getting it fixed and everyone's accounts straightened out.

Please make sure that you have a CS ticket about the issue, as that will help us to expedite getting your account back on track.

Does that email support count as ticket? I sent that one since chat was down, but have not got reply after automated one.
