Hey I have ran DFC many many times, getting a little bored of it now...I was wondering what zone can I quest in and solo at 44?  I have been doing writs in Lavastorm for my guild, but the exp isn't great.  Any suggestions?

Have you already done the Steamfont timeline?  That's usually good from 36-49.Then there's Sinking Sands...44 might be one or two levels low for it (depends on your class).

I have a few quests in Steamfont, and I am a Brigand, I will finish off my quests in Steamfont, hopefully getting me to 45, then head to Sinking Sands.

If you have not done the quest lines in Feerrott, they should still be green.

Also, now is the time to check all of those Lore and Legend quests (from the original release). If I remember correctly they max out at level 45, so finish them up, they have nice xp and aa.

Check out the lower level HQ quests, even gray they give some nice XP and AA

Check out Solo and Heroic timelines on Wiki. These should help you pretty much.

The older L&L's max out at 50, so they still have a few level padding on them, and you've really still got to 60 before they grey out, so a good padding.  Agree 100% on them though for giving good XP and AA.

I'd go with Sinking Sands though, but then I'm partial to it, I love the feel of the zones in DOF a lot.

At 44, you are right on target for Sinking Sands and Maj'Dul (You can do Tears Grifters quests in Maj'Dul at 45).
