Figuring rogue classes have historically used daggers, should I be following that, or should I be looking for swords?Right now I am using 1.6spd daggers and my dps seems ok at level 33, should I be looking at anything else?Any advice would be helpful. Thank you

I can't believe I'm answering this question AGAIN.....

Go for the highest DR weapon with the slowest hit speed (4 seconds being a good standard)

I tend to look for weapons that hurt the mob in the worst way. The best weapon I found so far for killing mobs drops from Cazel in Cazel's Mesa. Its the only two handed weapon that a scout can dps with that doesn't try to randomly port you somewhere.

I am not sure what the Cazel 2-hander is but in general scouts cannot equip 2-hand weapons. (The port one you won't see til 80 and it's not really a weapon it is a transportation item that goes in a weapon slot and procs when you hit something).Basically, you should always be dual-wielding.Weapon type doesn't matter at all, whether it's sword, dagger, axe, or spoon, if you can equip it, use it.Given a choice take the weapon with the highest damage spread. (Way more info than you need as to why)Slow weapons are better for timing CAs between autoattacks.Don't worry too much about it leveling up.

Id say just wield a slash wep and a piercing weapon levelling up; try to buy something with a decent dps rating - youll find there are some decent legendary weps in the middle area of each tier that are usually better and cheaper than MC ones; and get something you like the look of . But beyond that it really doesn't matter. The key thing levelling is to keep your skills up and having reasonably current weapons. Later on levels take longer so skills keep up and skilling up maybe less important. And, as you go higher maybe the weapons make a bit more difference, so you might get more picky. But, while lots of people emphasise higher dammage range for crits or bigger delay so you get CAs off between swings etc etc etc I really dont think it matters much on the way to 80. If you're asking this question I doubt you're someone who's sitting there with a stopwatch timing CAs to squeeze out that extra 20 dps. Personally, I have my WTP, dispatch, debilitate, blackjack thingy, double up and the rest all in one line. When up I hit them in sequence. If the mob still dead, I spam the rest till dead. Auto attack is a bit of a bonus, not much more.

I think the Cazul's weapon mentioned is The Spoon. It's also a crushing weapon. I remember my Ranger husband was delighted with it. He has recommended I split my weapons one hand each piercing and slashing while I am growing my Brig so that neither skill gets left behind.

The worker's sledgemallet is a weapon, I've killed many a mob with is...and it dps's quite well. Its fun to see it double-attack...kill a mob...and you still don't get ported.

I like using the spoon to dps with since I am always trying to "cut their heart out with a spoon." (movie quote)

Both of these items that I mentioned and their use for them as viable weapons were and are meant totally as a JOKE for those who read into this too much.

If you use a weapon with a slower delay then 4.0 as a brigand you need to examine your head.

I tend to use just mastercrafted daggers. I don't notice that much of a difference between them and a slower weapon (I think they're 2.3 seconds or something). I solo everything so I don't really focus on maxing my dps with auto-attacks.

while leveling, use 1 pierce, 1 slash so you have skill maxed for both, once you get to 80, then start looking for weapons with the high end damage and fairly slow hit speed, as they as they benefit the most from crit hits. examples are the weapons i use, battleaxe of venom and segmented serrator, both are 4.0s delays with around 60 - 340 damage shown on weapon (actual damage unbuffed is 220ish to 1270ish). on a crit hit though, while debuffs are up and buffs are on, those weapons can deal upwards of 4000 per hit. also weapons sharing the same delay are easier to time, which some people feel is important for dps.

For player-made MC weapons, look for a flamberge.  It's a 4spd 1HS with str & int bonuses.  The 1HP version of that weapon is the stiletto.
