1. All versus All.  [There is to be no team versus team, any class can group with any class]2. Level restrictions still apply to those you can engage in PVP.  [exactly the same as the present ruleset]        WHY IS THIS A GOOD IDEA?  [and other ideas to boost population]          A.  New players get to begin fresh and get to try PVP without having a distinct disadvantage to the older experienced players who also have the market/economy tied up in their favor.  Experienced EQ2 players who never tried PVP due to this issue will now be more inclined to give it a shot.B.  Old players tired of the same old thing wanting to start fresh get a chance to do so.  C.  Removes the ADVANTAGES OF EXILES!!!  Yes, by letting all classes group with one another, it removes the extreme advantage Exiles have!  This ruleset already exists on PVE servers, and was operating before PVP servers were live, so it's not that  big a stretch to make it happen on a PVP server!D.  A NEW GAME IS COMING OUT SOON!  To compete or give players an alternative to this new competition, who truly would prefer EQ2, give them a really fun, cool reason to stick around and not want to try that new game!E.  For all new characters starting out on the new PVP server, give them some sort of bonus/reward!  Perhaps a fun item, or something more useful like tradeskill potions, a halfway decent mount, something interesting would do wonders and would bring people too.  This offer could only be temporary however only good for the first month of the new PVP server opening.  This little perk would bump up initial population.        -Just a thought, nothing more or less!  I am an eq2 PVP junkie, yes, I play this game way too much.  But, I recognize it needs something NOW before it takes some huge population losses which would in essence hurt SOE, as well as make us loyal players unhappy as our game would no longer be much fun, if there's no one left o play it with.  There are no other simpler alternatives, but to open a new server, or servers.  What is there to lose?  For us, the loyal players I hope that SOE does something soon, as the storm is coming.  It's not sensible to wait for thr storm to hit, then try to pick up the mess it creates!  Instead, you prepare for the storm!  You become proactive to minimize the losses and make things better for when the inevitable occurs!  PLEASE DO THIS!  BE PROACTIVE, NOT REACTIVE!

No, No, No... NO!Spreading us any thinner is not the solution. Already on Venny I can do a /who all at 3am EST and get about 50 on the list. And why remove a faction thats meant to be here? What are you gonna say next? Remove Kelethin because the Fae have a flight advantage? Every side, every class have some sort of advantage and disadvantage. Need to stop exiles dead in there tracks? Cities have the advantage that they can form massive unraided x12's. Exiles can raid a bit easier. Oh well. Life ain't fair, take advantage of what you can but don't take people of my server.

If you enjoy Venekor, by all means, if a new server were opened you could stay.  I am sure if other players felt content on Venekor, they also would stay.  So, what is the problem with opening a new server for those who are not happy with their present PVP server or it's ruleset, and for those who would like to start on a new PVP server who never got a chance to from scratch?

I play on Nagafen mate. I don't want to see either server lose population. There are dead times on Nagafen and Venekor is becoming very barren. A different ruleset would be interesting but to take away from the player base to do it? No.

Oh [Removed for Content], did I just hurt the chances of forming a new server?

Sorry to say, but I didn't.

Not only that, but you actually lessened the chances of human survival after world war III.  Good job buddy hope you can look at yourself in the mirror when it's all said and done.

They dont need to start a new server - tey need to allow all classes to all factions.  I could care less about exiles raiding - what they do with their game time is their own business.  We don't want to thin the populace any more - we need SOE to advertise the game more like say, oh, that other childish game and then the new one claiming millions of members before launch.  Please allow all classes on pvp just like our bluebie counterparts - this would a.) stop exile bashing, b.) stop city a class is op to city b class a, and c.) Put raiding for all 3 factions on equal footing.  All classes are not gonna make raiding guilds suddenly progress past their current encounters miraculously but having a templar instead of an inqy in my group is gonna make it slightly better and like wise a Q tank is gonna love having a defiler in their group.  Please unlock all classes for all sides, we will then claim all classes are balanced and you can begin development of Project Beastlord!!

From now on, if you want a Mod or Dev to read your thread... barely mention another game in it.

Oh, and don't combine classes.  I hate Rangers and don't want to see a world full of them! (now I'm slightly on topic =D)

Let me bring up some no so ancient history. There is a game, called Dark Ages of Camelot. It has Realm vs Realm but it was really only for the max levels. Then it bring battlegrounds, for everyone. And then it brought the PvP server, the anyone can attack anyone after level 10 type.

And it was a huge success. But only in the beginning, 3 months later the pvp servers were pretty much deserted. I bet anyone that the same very thing would happen to a WoW or EQ2 server. People get excited about the full pvp feature but in the end when a very small number of powerful guilds pretty much dominate the server and kill everyone and everywhere at will, then the fun it pretty much over for a big number of players. A lot of the people playing on the pvp servers would not be playing without safe cities/houses/zones/level caps for zones.

Also keep in mind that the more liberal the rules on such a server, the worse is the crowd that will populated. Those servers are a griefers wet dream. Another thing that goes against the ffa pvp server in fantasy games like Daoc/WoW/EQ2 is because they have a progressive pattern: there is no real hunt in the wild for xp and items. Ok, there is some instacing but you still have to get there.

Easy solution:

  1. One more week of free transfers to the Nagafen server from Venekor and Vox for as many characters as desired for those wanting to move (and were to ignorant or blind to of not done it in the first place). Vox is a station exchange server but what is the point of having purchased plat when 80% of people's gear is no-trade from instances? Let them join the party.
  2. Allow all factions to group, raid, form guilds together. This isn't a RP server, no reason to keep us segregated especially when the vast majority doesnt want it. If not they can move to Venekor (Free transfer in option 1.)
  3. Allow free-for-all PvP when not inside a city zone. Obviously this would make exiles a pointless faction, but keep it since it's required for people wanting to change classes. Plus only cool kids have "the exiled" behind their name.
  4. This would pretty much turn nagafen into a blue server with free-for-all PvP enabled--The way it should be.

Primary problem: Lag. How long has this game been out already? How is this still a problem? Seriously.

Even though none of this will happen. I think a large portion of people will be rerolling on the new www.ageofconan.com server due to SoE's continuous lack of attention. IT'S OK THOUGH GUYS BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING CARE OF THE IMPORTANT [I cannot control my vocabulary] LIKE: "The Paladin and Shadowknight squires should no longer look differently after zoning."

Agreed.  It's not really constructive removing Exiles, and it simply would be easier to just unlock all classes so they can group with one another.  PVE servers have this luxury, why not allow PVP servers also?
