Alright. To make a long story short, I decided it was time for my little rat to get his place decorated. After all he worked so much for the two bugs and didn't even get a thank you!So, since he is a carpenter I decided to go with a wooden theme. I also decided to restrict myself only to stuff that he could craft, buy from a NPC or get from quests. He is also a self-learned tinker (actually he is pretty much a self-learned everything) and a heavy drinker. So those elements went into the house design as well. Lastly he is a very rough man. So no niceties on his house. Ok, maybe a couple.I also tried to make it less... frugal and add more details since that was something lacking very badly in my previous houses. Another challenge was to make a bathroom. Yes, finally one character of mine that won't have to use the public bathroom or bath house! SMILEYJust for future reference everything was done with a level 32 monk and level 42 carpenter. His house is the inn in Nettlevile, Qeynos under the name Rakuno. The server is Antonia Bayle.Oh, the screenshots were taking with him. So you will be seeing everything through the eye of a ratonga. Yes, eye, because he lost the other one some time ago. SMILEYNow, on with the show...As you enter the house you can see immediately that this is not your ordinary house...Looking to the right, you will see, Mirthday, Rakuno's sidekick. Together they fight for justice against criminals and impossi... Er... Wrong game. Together they drink until they pass out because drinking alone is not fun! That also happens to be Mirthday's sleeping corner. The little bugger is smart enough to sleep near the warmest place in the house. To the left is the kitchen. Rakuno didn't know what to do with the "fires of tranquility" at the time and he was also needing an oven... Well, the "fires of tranquility" looked like it could give enough heat to make food so he decided to give it a try.The initial tests didn't work very well as the water wouldn't even boil. He got so frustrated at the thing that he started to cuss at it. Then the fires began to get red and what you know, the water started to boil! Now every time he needs to cook he starts to cuss at it. He also found to be a very relaxing exercise.Strangely enough there are reports of the number of fights increasing at the same times that Rakuno cooks. Such strange coincidences...Here is a closer look at the cauldron. Rakuno's cooking consists basically of getting a lot of water, meat, vegetables and anything else that is edible and tastes good into the pot and mix everything.Near the cooking area is the dining table. Only two seats because those people in Qeynos are full of prejudice and don't want to be friends with the rat. But no matter! The rat has his loyal burynai sidekick to make him company.Going a little further is his working desk. That is where he creates his marvelous inventions. At the time of the picture he was working on fixing a little robot he found out during his travels. He was able to fix it later by putting some random wires together. Since it didn't try to kill him yet he considers the work a complete success! The robot is still unnamed though. On the opposite side of the working desk is his altar to Brell. He decided to worship Brell during the festivities of Brew's Day. He figured out that if Brell could make such a good ale, maybe if he worships the god he will get more of that ale. No success so far but he found another excuse to drink. I mean, you can't worship Brell while sober, right?Next to the altar is the bahtroom! He was getting tired of everyone pretty much leaving when he went into a public bathroom or bath house so he decided to make his own.On the bathroom has his greatest invention, a shower. It was inspired by baths taken on a waterfall so unlike bath tubes you take a bath there standing up. It is turned on by clicking the button with the sun on it. The water is warm and already adjusted to the rat's preference. He didn't give any details on how it works saying that it was too complex to explain. That and he was kinda drunk at the time so he doesn't remember everything. Also, he is not much to care about appearances but he keeps a good shampoo and fur conditioner there because no ratonga lady would go out with a rat that doesn't take good care of his fur.As for the sink, he swears it is not a thinly disguised keg just so he has another excuse to drink. The fact he always get out of the bathroom drunk is purely coincidence! The toilet is another one of his inventions. Invention of his own only because of what he used to make it than anything else. Again another thing that he refuses to explain the inner workings. Something about how traumatic the first prototypes were and how explaining would bring back a lot of bad memories...Outside the bathroom and next to it are some plants that Lumilie gave him as a gift when he worked on her house. He planted them and much to his surprise it grew pretty fast. Unfortunately they don't taste that good.Lastly, is his favorite piece of the house, his bed. He doesn't need any fancy bed. He is too much of a manly rat for that. Just a bear skin rug and a place to put his favorite stuff is all he needs. Another keg with ale there too so he can wake up faster.Being the genius he is, there is a board there to make quick notes. His ideas usually come when he is dreaming or when he is drunk or both. So its handy to have that nearby. Anyone who reads it will just see stuff written in bad ratongan calligraphy, full of grammar errors. Particularly it seemed just a bunch of stick figure to me but he says it looks like that to me because I don't know how to recognize a good calligraphy in a beautiful language.Aaaand that's it! Now on my next project the challenge will be.... how to take better screenshots! SMILEY

That's really cute. Great story and it's all nicely done with a lot of special touches.

I think the bathroom is my favorite part. I love the shower and toilet. Very creative use of all that wood. One question though... Do you ever get splinters sitting on the toilet? SMILEY

Your toilet is brilliant!  What did you use?  I can't make out the items.  And yay for elm tables and stools!  People rarely use them and they look great in there.  Also what is the bottle like thingy on Brell Altar?  It looks almost like the stuff on the wine cart but not quite.  Very curious.

Thanks everyone! SMILEY@RitaGlad that you liked and that it has inspired you. SMILEY@ShazzieThanks but pretty much everything was just ideas I stole from others and tweaked to work with what I had at the moment and fit the theme. That and being lucky to have the right items in my bags at the time to test how they would look.@KethriWell, I asked the rat about that but he started to shiver uncontrollably and then screamed "NOOOOO!! The pain! The pain!". Shortly after that he passed out. Mirthday started to look at me angry so I decided it was a good time to get out of there. From that I guess we can assume that was the problem with the prototypes. SMILEY@ZindicattI used 4 short maple shelves, 3 oil paintings of the sea, 1 qeynosian small wooden barrel, 1 pristine kaladim bucket, 1 alder chest and 1 ancient rivervale scroll. The barrel you can buy at the inn guy at the racial districts in qeynos, the scroll is from the rivervale coin collection. Everything else was crafted. The bottle on the altar is Tumpy Tonic Max from the Brew Day event.
