When casual peeps get nice loot it hurts someones epeen.
No one cares that it drops good stuff. I'm really glad to see some of the loot from SoH, its bloody amazing. The problem we have is that the loot that drops in there is too good for challenge of the creature. Effort should equal rewards. A mob that is easily 2-groupable should not drop loot that is exponentially better then mobs that are 5-6 times harder. That is the problem.

Well shoot, in that case they need to nerf armguard of the far seer, ganaks torque, jarsath robe of royalty, and a lot of other gear, cause its all one groupable or less, and none of that stuff really gets replaced til you get to VP.

Those are extremely rare drops. There is somewhat of a difference.

Even though it is extremely rare you have 20+ groups running those zones they are bound to drop and with people willing to pay 100plat on some servers to loot that item *shrug*.

So now you say your own point is not valid, saves me the trouble.

The zone itself is quite good and the drops (while some might think over powered) are in the same line as a zone like EH.The progression as I see it is very similar to what EH was. 2 easy, 2 medium and 2 hard. Im not going to hand out any strats to the mobs because the fun of it is working it out. The sisters are a fun fight SMILEYI do like the idea of allowing causal guilds the chance to raid a full zone with no progression required because realistically if they cant get past VS, OK and even Pawbuster, you will find that the last 2-4 mobs wont be killed either.

Whats the deal with Dreadlord D'Somni?? Messed around in SoH last night with 6 guys.. We took the trash without problems, 2 mins to kill them but no issues. Got to Dreadlord D'Somni.. I was the only caster in group, for some reason he wanted me dead anytime I was alive.. Accept rez(I didn't cast a thing yet) DEAD! Even if I managed to survive and pop everything I had in deaggro.. Tank got aggro again, tossed my mana regen buff on... More aggro for me! After dying and getting rezzed like 6 times. I decided to just revive at the entrance. I pop back at the entrance, I see in group chat.. "[Removed for Content]..where did he go?.." The mob ran back to the entrance, killed me, then ran back to the group. Happened to me anytime I revived... After like 12 deaths I decided to stay dead, and my group took him down with little help from me. :/ So was there something I was missing? Some reason he wanted to squish my face whenever I was alive? Anything like that happen to anyone else? - Ek

The mob ran back to the entrance, killed me, then ran back to the group. Happened to me anytime I revived... "So.You are the only caster in the raid. And he keeps blurring to just you.

Just think about that for a minute. And it will dawn on you what happens on that fight. hehe

I don't know about there not being anything good in there for druids as the raid I was on got like 3 nice drops for druids, got 1 of those items on my fury now. Luck of the draw for you maybe?

As someone in a casual guild, I like that I can join a Pickup Raid and at least clear trash and 1-2 names.  It gives me something to shoot for, but keeps the loot table on the harder names solely for those in guilds organized to clear them.

So far, for example, every time I"ve gone in with a pickup raid, we wiped horribly to the Master.  I don't see how a pickup raid can kill this mob.  At least the one's I've been in SMILEY  But we can still do trash and hope for drops, and the first named.

So for someone like me who is out of things to collect from the 4 ROK instances, running the entrance to SOH is something new and fun to do.  There are maybe 3 powerful items on the loot table that I want for what I am able to do, so its nice to have even a shot at 3 really nice items above and beyond the only fabled thing I'm allowed to loot in ROK - Gift to the Queen.

((Please note that there would typically be an uproar if I as a templar wanted to roll on Preator's Guard or even Armguard of the Farseer...))

Well I do believe they added in a "Fix" to the zone because all the mobs i've seen thus far are x4 while when SoH was first introduced there were some x3s.  I do agree though that the difficulty level is spot on and needs to be kept right where it is at.

Some mobs in SoH are on the difficult level as the creatures in PR and then it quickly jumps to Kor'Sha difficulty and beyond.  Sadly the alliance raid i'm with is still trying to figure out exactly how to kill master P'Tasa.  We've tried to load up a swashy with dirge/coercer hate, but all he does is get charmed then the mob murders the coercer or dirge killin the swashys hate.

Luckily we got past his nasty stone skin ability by having people just do their biggest direct damage attacks and if the stone skin goes up we wait for it to go off.  Got him down to 89% before we wiped to his HP AoE attack.

I am a casual player and I am in a casual guild.  (my guild and alliance rocks BTW)  So forgive the casual question.

Our alliance has set up a SoH raid for Saturday.  What is the min level for this raid?  Would a 76 Wiz survive?

I have tried searching for the answer, but no luck.  Thanks!!

I thought Master P'tasa was way harder then he should be til my guild hit the....AHA!. Master P'tasa is a long fight, but now one of the easiest in zone. He is working as intended.

It depends on your goal in the zone. If you're planning to kill/try everything, then everyone needs to be 80. The final named is 88th.

More realistically though on your first trip, you're probably just trying to kill trash and maybe 1-2 named and having 1 76 wiz is probably OK.

Take careful note of what one poster mentioned above about caster aggro though. That wiz is probably going to die alot on the named fights because the scripts on those named fights have them bouncing quite a bit even if the wiz is afk eating a sandwich during the fight.

They have been making changes to these encounters for some time now. In fact, Master P and the sisters were most recently changed about a week ago in order to shore up some strats that people were using.

Ya I wouldn't doubt this since I believe Master P's ability was downgraded a bit.  Used to have like a 5% trigger chance lasting 4-5 seconds in the beginning.  Now it triggers every 2% lasting 1-2 seconds which makes the fight a bit more reasonable.

The raid i'm in kept wiping on him and now we've managed to get him down to 25-30% health.  Sadly he becomes a pain at that point because he starts uber healing.
