I finally got the full set today (4 Server discoveries) but was disappointed to see that the legs are bugged on Fae and don't show up at all. I've been reduced to using a Human illusion if I want the set to show.

didnt look too shabby, too bad they introduced the [I cannot control my vocabulary] faction grinding to this game too... argh, shove it back to eq and VsOH, pleage! (no i didnt think the KoS factions were that bad... heh, was always too lazy to max out anything but 1 anyways)hmm...  dunno if i liked the mastercrafted ones better thou, atleast they are cheaper SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=(yes, im poor)++Xan

Im quite new to the game (as you see Im still 63 with my main). But I see this set as a great way for a Warden like me who is always grinding solo to get nice equipment. I understand there must be raid/instance content easier/better to get but I don't easily find a group (and I enjoy soloing, that's the main reason).I'm Naturalist so this set really fits the hit&heal strategy. I think I will put efforts into it and I hope/guess/ask to you that the rep grinding will report me some nice exp aswell?SMILEY

Well, I'm only just finished with the Fens, so I have 3 pieces. So far it has taken 40K faction to be able to buy the pieces.

In Kylong Plains, I got to max ally with Teren's Grasp just from doing all the quests available in the zone, so that happened just as I leveled with no extra grinding.

In the Fens there are two pieces. One is from the Bathezid's Watch camp, the other is from Riliss. For Bathezid's, I did quests until I was at about 22k faction. Once there, I did tradeskill writs up to 30k. Each writ gives 750 faction, but you can only do them up to 30k. The drawback to this is I think you have to be a T8 tradeskiller to do them, but I could be mistaken. For the last 10k you can either hold on to a couple of final hails, or do the collect outrider reports task over and over (+500 each), along with killing the little fishmen down at the shore (+25 each). For Riliss, there are more than enough quests to get you to max ally that no additional grinding is necessary.

Unfortunately not - killing mobs gives little xp and finishing repeatable quests (after the first time) even less.

Once you get into the Jungle you can make some nice money from body loot though - I think I had to kill almost 1000 Rubble-Rousers for Kunzar Village faction, around 300 things for Taskmaster and 500 or so for Outer Sebellis and they drop a reasonable amount of vendor trash.

Overall the set isn't too bad and would be good enough to solo in when 80. It's better than the Legendary set gear for soloing, and I've only found better from some of the Instances (mainly Maidens which drops some great Brawler loot).

I have all but the gloves now and 3 discoveries so far on Guk.  Someone actually beat me to the BP...I was shocked!  Those quests for Outer Seb took me forever (I think I slowed down due to boredom lol).

P.S. 100th post!

I'm not sure that if this is just quest related or it carries over to total itemization too which would really suck. From fyreflyte, Assoc. Game DesignerQuote:Not sure why people always blame the lack of brawler gear on caster leather. The reason you're seeing so much caster leather this expansion is because I felt it would be pointless to create every single piece of priest armor in triplicate (leather, chain, plate) when all 3 types could wear leather, and generally had little use for the extra mitigation of the higher armor types. Thus, the majority of the priest gear I created was leather so that all priests could make use of it. The lack of brawler gear stems from the fact that they use a combination of stats and an armor type that no other classes use. I can create 3 pieces of leather aimed at druids, shamans, and clerics, and have 3 viable items for each (ie. any one of those classes could use any of the 3 armors). But when I create a brawler armor, only brawlers will ever be wearing it. There are 24 classes to itemize, a number of which have special stat and effect requirements. I try to be as accommodating as I can, but the fact is that the classes who share useful stats (like priests or cloth casters) are always going to receive a much larger selection than classes with specific needs. This is an unfortunate result of the way these classes were initially designed. That being said, I dedicated 2 full sets of armor to brawlers, which is more than other classes (such as dirges, conjurors, shadowknights, etc.) had designed specifically for them. Those classes may have a wider selection of armor, but most of it was not created specifically for them. Quote:I did not balance itemization on a per-quest basis. I created an outline of all of the items I wanted to make at the outset and made sure that no holes were left. The items were then distributed out to various bosses and quests. So yes, in some cases one class or another will receive a "better" reward on a specific quest, but that has no bearing on the overarching game balance. There are plenty of quests/bosses in the game (prior to this expansion) that don't even drop loot usable by some classes - I would think you'd find this even more imbalanced... Quote:Categorically untrue. Both SKs and Paladins received specific itemization this expansion. Probably more than most cloth casters did. That it is spread out is due to you being 2 classes among 24. For all the reasons I explained above, you'll more easily find general cloth gear due to its use between all the cloth classes (and even amongst some priests). One reason you are finding more upgrades for your caster this expansion is (I'm guessing) because of the increased use of spell damage and spell haste. Keep in mind that melee already had a number of analogous bonuses (haste, dps, double attack) that previously had no casting equivalent.

All I can say is wow!  Suppose the battle druid armor at the faction merchants is the way to go for the Melee Warden.

So... after finishing all Bathezid quests, I need about 17K status.Do they realy expect me to do the same quest 36 times? The one where you run and run and run, looking for the stupid watchers? Or should I just go kill 70 Ya'leihs.Any faster (and more enjoyable) ways of doing this?

Well, if you're a T8 tradeskiller you can do tradeskill writs until you reach 30K faction. You have to do the repeatable hail quest and kill the fishmen to get to 40K unless you know ahead of time and save a couple of those +5K turn in rewards once you've gone as high as you can with tradeskill writs

Oh this stuff looks great for the melee Wardens out there. It's just what we needed to counteract the mostly hostile-spell cast proc gear out there for Druids. I can't wait to get my hands on some, it will be a reason to finish upping those last couple factions in RoK

It's not too bad..put on some music, grab a friend, go out and whack things, harvest and get shinies.   The faction rewards are nice to have, IMO

For Bathezid's you have some options. If you are also a T8 crafter, hold off on the last couple of 5K turn-ins and grind out some crafting writs. They give 750 status and a 3 gold profit over fuel costs. Once you cap them your faction will be 30K. Then do your final hails and voila! 40K.

I finished up my faction before they made the change to the Outriders. Back then you could just run past with them targeted and hit "H" and get an update. I'd get my 15, then kill fishmen till my evac timer was refreshed, then evac and take the flight to BW from the zone in. Rinse and repeat. I know the hail the outriders quest is still there, dis they up the faction on it when they upped the Kunzar Jungle ones?

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this at all, but the new faction crafted armor in RoK is level 77 and spec'ed towards melee wardens. Well, eithe that or monks that feel they need a lot of wisdom.

Going from memory, its +20 to +30 in str, agi, sta, and wis. Also has a combat art bonus. Other than that it isn't exceptional for 77 legendary gear. All except for the chest is made with hidebound pelts. The chest is made with a chromatic essence and has a heal proc on it.

Ask your local tailor for more information.
