Okay - first off - I'm new to EQ2 so please bear with me =).I decided to roll a Gnome Conjuror and my RL friend rolled a Barbarian Berserker. He has found some help on the Zerker boards for his class. So my big question basically is...is there a guide for what skills to choose for Master II / Character Traits / AA specs? We plan on just duoing end-game and I don't plan on joining a guild or raiding, etc unless you have to for a good mount (carpet, etc? I'm kind of fuzzy in this area)? So any recommendations would be appreciated (please put them in newbie form...I have no clue what unabate, etc is) =p.I use ProfitUI and EQ2 Map..are there any other addons I should have? I've got a fairly extensive background in MMO's from UO, to DAoC, to WoW. In most of those games there are leveling guides....I see various ones for EQ2 but is there one that is really popular?Any help is appreciated - and feel free to give me info even if I didn't ask about it and you think it would be helpful, lol. Thanks!

One resource that will help you often is eq2wikia.If you want a site with more attitude than information I recommend eq2flames.A general rule of thumb for master 2 choices is to go for a pet stance when you can. Otherwise choose a damage spell. For character traits choose Int and power regen. Resists it doesn't matter that much which you take, pick the one you are lowest in.You can buy some horses without joining a guild. At level 47 (I think) you can do a quest for a free carpet and 10 or so levels later there is a quest for a warg. There is lots of discussion about AA specs but most of it tends to be about maximizing raid DPS or for soloing. There are not many threads about specs for duos.Conjurors are a fairly flexible class and AAs let you shape your toon to fit your playstyle. Your berserker friend was able to find an easier answer because there is one and only one AA spec (the STA line) they can choose without being sneered at. Spend some time looking at the AA windows in-game to see what abilities you think appeal to you the most. Many conj try to hit as hard as possible, others want their tank pet to be a monster. If you plan on always duoing with a zerker you might decide you want to spec your AAs to get the healer pet. When you have all 140 possible AA points you will be able to get 3 of the 4 end abilities in the conjuror tree and go down 2 1/2 of the branches of the summoner tree. You can try different specs out as long as you don't change them too often. You get a card for 5 free respecs then have to pay, 10 gold for the first and 1 plat for the second in a 30 day period.

![]() We should point out you can get a crafted respect mirror for your room what can store a default aa and stats setting this lets you revert back to an aa selection you have saved. I doesn't toggle it just is an un-do. |

![]() Duo-ing with a Zerker? I have much experience with that. Zerker plus Conjuror= More than enough DPS. So you may want to spec for utility for which you don't have. Hydromancer- Wards and Heals the both of you...it can be very helpful. This is under the Conjuror line. Also under the Conjuror line is one of the best things a Conjuror could get (IMO). Evocations allows you to cast most of your spells in 1.5 Seconds or less. Hard to beat enemies go down really fast so it saves your Berserker from damage not needed. Have more aa to spend? Good....get Theurgist under the summoner tree. Many people think this is useless but I find it helpful. You gain a swarm pet, you gain critical chances for even more damage...plus a pet Implode. The pet Implode does massive aoe damage to get you two out of outnumbered spots. I congratulate your choices on races for the class....it's the exact same as me. For Gnome, I suggets you get- Meldrath's Teachings (for even more critical chance), Clockwork Army (Trust me, you can never get enough swarm pets), The Food Duration Increase as well. Some basic Conjuror stuff- Scout Pet- Mobs that die quickly or a short duration heroic mob fight. Mage Pet- Longer fights, or mobs with multiple targets. Set this pet to ranged as well. I doubt you'll need the tank much...and I already mentioned the Hydromancer. You're going to have loads of fun as a Conjuror. Also, expirement for what fits you. Nothing that you spec a Conjuror for is completely wrong...they all have their purpose and it depends on how YOU use them. To each his own, especially with the aa options of a Conjuror. |

This is under the Conjuror line.------------------So the way we were currently killing mobs is for me to use the tank pet and for him to dual wield kill the mobs...ie: 2x DPS.Should we be using Hydromancer for healer, then him tanking, and just me DPSing? Seems to me like that's slower, or no?

I would say not to use your tank pet, because a Berserker is capable of tanking while damaging. This being the case, I would use this method most often with your Scout or Mage pet. Best way to avoid damage is killing the damage doer IMO. If it so happens that the mobs has tons of life or does tons of damage, I would suggest him to use his shield while your Hydromancer heals and you DPS your heart out. |

By the way, a sure way to keep aggro from getting to you is rooting your target and standing at a further distance than the zerker. Even if the mob isn't on you, periodically root the mob. Mobs can't stand NOT hitting someone, so whether their hate for the player is more or less than someone else they'll hit the closest person to them when they're rooted on most occasions.
