New housing layouts with balanced weekly rent costs!

More storage space!

More room to put stuff!

I agree with all of these and also I would love a couple of new houses for people that are large that DO NOT have a guild requirement.  Status is fine but there are low level guilds and people who prefer to remain unguilded who do not even get the option of FP or Qeynos because of the guild level requirement.

Also Ruckus, I thought you find this interesting http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=399348 It is called Expanding the use and function of house pets.  It is a little long but very detailed on how we can actually use our house pets outside of the house.  Imagine taking your baby dragon out for a walk with you .... just the thought of it makes me excited. Thank you Rothgar for acknowledging our desire for more space and please even if the answer is no stop back by to let us know how it is unfolding and if you get a chance check out the link above  SMILEY

I would love to see and item count increase. It bites when you have to block a room out because you have hit the limit. Even then I feel I things are spread thin to make the remaining rooms look complete.

The last coding change to suppress the book pop up text made a huge performance impact for the better. Thank you by the way. Once inside a manor, lag does not occur on either of my machine. One of them is high end and the other is lower EQII capable box.

My main house has 500 counted items and a grand total of 846 items in it during Frostfell. Needless to say I have a big library. I have had friends visit with varying results. Not with lag inside the house but with the load time of resources. The fast machines load the manor between one minute and one minute and 20 seconds. The worse load time was experienced from a friend. She logged out inside the manor. The next day when logging back in, it took her five minutes from the time the guild text announced her logging in to when she was rendered inside. The interesting thing is she said it half that time when zoning from SQ into the house.

Performance of the load time is dependant more of the quantity of items in the first room you zone into than the overall quantity in the house. My Frostfell spam card display this year is a load time extender. Part of her five minute load time I am sure was due to it.

Cheers and thanks for even considering the item increase,Helja

I just had to go through and clear out a bunch of the custom stuff I'd made just to make room to create some more and I believe I have the largest house in Kelethin - (6 room).  Please please increase the Max house items.

THis would be internesting if so. will ahve to test it out. I would love more item count (I've removed books, pets (sob) and am now going to remove L and L items in an effort to work with my item count (Yes the chessboard i"m making isn't helping), but I'm reluctant to take advantage of a bump if it takes ages for people to log in. In house lag is gone....it's awesome...!!!! But, loading time is tough.

If this is the case - create larger houses with foyers (small front room so you can't put a lot of stuff in them where guests can wait when they call) and have that room lead into larger rooms.   This would allow people to zone in quickly.

I also want to thank SOE for all the great new house items additions (cups & saucers, dinner plates, gardens etc.)  I've had to do some demo in order to remodel so I could incorporate some of the fabulous new pieces.  I really really would love to have the max house items #'s increased though so I really go to town.

...perhaps even a special "holiday item only" vault slot and/or strongbox that would only hold, say, Frostfell & Erolissi Day items? Rather like the Frostfell gathering bag this year. Would not affect the number of Broker vault slots available.Or maybe a new house item, similar to the Moving Crate you get when you move, except that you can take out & put in, and it would be restricted to certain holiday items.Currently, I have my house vaults stuffed full of candles, pillows, presents, etc., and the overflow stuffed into a "closet" behind some bookcases upstairs, lol!!

A major way to cut down on the items in a house would be to allow carpenters to make house components. Things like walls sections, floor sections, stairs. Make them just big enough to go a 1/3 or a 1/4 across a average size room. Four floors sections to make an entire second floor in the same sized space. Would probably cut down on the lag too. The new platform is a great start, and the pillars.

Ill Chime in again .. Higher max item count please ! Ive Been building a tavern on Lucan Dlere and just with 2 rooms mostly done (nothing on walls no tapestries and very little lighting) im gettin close to the 500 item cap in the 5 room gorowyn house ... with 3 more rooms to decorate .. granted i could cut the count down by removing alot of the hot chocolate mugs .. but !!Its a Tavern!! I need to keep them for looks ... and to repete another idea .... Make all the cups/plates/candles/holiday items not count ! it would probably save me 150 of my count just by doing that .. *starts bowing and worshiping the tradeskilling/housing gods* Please oh please great ones .. please increase the item limits for houses.... Or at least make all those fluff items cups plates nicknacks heritage quests and anything that isnt a chair/table/rug/bed/larger furniture item not count towards the max item limit *returns to genuflecting*

Or maybe the home version of the displayed clothing option...?!?

You are a wonderful, sweet, kind and noble Qeynosian, but you have a few bone sconces aquired during your last battle with the undead. You are faced with the problem of placing ugly & even abhorrent furniture in your house, or using your hard won status to pay your rent. What do you do?

Now if we had the display option in houses, you could tuck that ugly status furniture in a special vault. The furniture in the vault would count to the overall status reduction of the house, but not the house item limit (as it's not actually a viewable graphic in the house).

Now you are able to displace the attractive, but status deficient, home goods and still have the benefits of the rent reducing itmes (that fail to blend with your decor).

Oh would you? 500 is just way too low limit for the bigger houses. I had to leave several rooms barren or empty and still I have to try to find something to toss out so I can get room for some of the new Valentine stuff.... SMILEYThis is awesome news! Thank you! SMILEY

I didn't think of having them added by city merchants and status, but I did have a similar idea.

The idea I had was maybe add it as a customization, just like changing the wall and floor and ceilings.  I would love to be able to add a stable to my home where I could place mounts that I'm not using!  I thought 5 plat for one of these would be a fair deal.

First off a huge vote of support for not only larger homes, but higher item counts!! And thank you for taking the time to consider this for us =D

It seems to be a common request but just to have books and your L&L trophies not count towards the limit would make a significant difference for many people IMO. I think anopther way to help people who be as has been asked for the addition of crafted building components.. Perhaps some shoji screen wall sections? Or just blank ones, I'm not picky. And a single item that is a staircase!!!!! Straight ones, spiral ones, L shaped.. something anything.. If you could eliminate all of the stacked shelves that it takles to create one of those... Well, I know I'd sure have a lot more free slots in my 5 room house! =)

I'd also like to see new, larger homes available in Neriak please!! We have so few location / house choices. I understand it's a smaller city than Qeynos or Freeport as far as zone size but... it sure would be nice.

Just want to add my voice of thanks for  looking into the item count issue. I thought i'd never hit 500 items and now i must sacrifice something to add something else. I know of two others facing the same problem. I would not be against the idea of the option to purchase more vault space, or pay more rent if only i could  display more. I wanted to do a hall of armor and paintings with all the formal class armors but have no room even for  just one more mannequin, or vault space to store the armors.

Count me in for extending house item count. With each additional recipe - either with holiday or general update -  and lore & legends, and other quests that give a house item. I am quite close to hitting the maximum.

If not for changes to the books not counting toward the limit, I'll be already at limit long time ago. Over 600 items in my place.

I'll even go for a bigger house with more rooms and spaces.

Just chiming in to agree that a higher item count would be awesome.   It'd be nifty to see what some of these decorators come up with when they can cram more stuff into their houses!

I would LOVE a higher item count in the larger houses.  With all the accent pieces that are now in the game, plants/plates/chalices/flowers etc., my houses get full much too quickly and I end up with some rather bare rooms to make up for the more detailed ones.  This would be so awesome. SMILEY  I hope it is something that is feasible to change!  Thanks for looking into it! SMILEY

Higher Count - yes please!

500 items is just not enough, I agree, that "dressing"  all your rooms is near impossible, with the current limitation of 500.  In fact in my Gorowyn home, which has enormous open floor space and working on the premise that each of my 5 rooms can have 100 items - the furniture can kinda looks lost and bleak SMILEY  100 items looked ok in my one room house in Freeport, but that one Inn room fits into the biggest rooms two or three times in a 5 room house!

So yay for higher item counts in houses SMILEY

I would absolutely adore having higher item counts in the houses.  As it stands, I have one of the 3 room houses in SQ and I am busting at the seams on the item count.  I haven't upgraded to one of the bigger houses yet because I know I am just going to have the same problem because there are more rooms to decorate.  Thank you for looking into this, Rothgar!
