Defiler Epic! Obsidian.

These Epic quest were built so us as players would have fun doing them. I had fun until a point, and that is finding 20 Obsidian.  I had searched along with every other defiler on almost every server for about 30 hours. This is not a joke, I have spent ATLEAST 30 hours looking for this [I guess I should check the many websites about this quest] Obsidian. With how big the EverQuest 2 world is, and how clueless this item is it is a impossible task. You DEVS did not give us a loch-ness monster clue. NOT ONE CLUE!!!!!!! [I guess I should check the many websites about this quest]. The other items such as the Idol where good task, and fun to find because we had riddles and clues. We have /petition and looked for feedback, but you can not answer your players. I stand with almost everyone who is getting fed up with this Epic. Give us atleast a clue. WE DONT WANT THE exact location, NPC name. Just to know that you did not mess up and the item is actually in the game, and a hint onto finding it. Thanks

Agreed, this is ridiculous.  There is a poll going on eq2flames right now seeing if the defilers will find their obsidian before EVERY SINGLE CLASS discovers their mythical.  The sad thing is that the mythical one is winning 4 to 1.  I have spent almost 4 days every moment I have been on looking for this [Removed for Content] rock.  If you are not going to give a clue then at least make it in an obvious location, maybe somewhere with lava?

Is it even in game?Why does it even have to be special obsidian? Argh. There are gazillions everywhere else, but we somehow need super-special-rare-obsidian. What? Are Defilers /that/ picky?

The quest doesn't jack just says "20 Piece of obsidian"  and now we are looking all over the godamn planet to find it for a week now.   We can't even get a dev to tell us it actually exists and isn't just a broken quest.We've been looking for every definition in and out of game for obsidian.  Looking through lore, purchased everything on broker killed every fire elemental, water elemental, golem and creature with obsidian in its name that we could find.  I've looked through vendor after vendor till my eyes started to bleed, this is ridiculous

I dont expect to be spoon fed information...but I think we are owed someone taking a good long look at the Obsidian and letting us know that is in fact working and ingame.  Epics are supposed to be challenging but this is getting to the point of taking any and all fun out of the challenge.

And I would appreciate knowing it wasnt hanging out with the Froglok quest NPC from launch...he is bound to hide it too well for us to harvest any.

Just out of curiousity, and I hope it's not what is required of the quest, but has anyone tried sundered obsidian from t1 zones? I have looted a couple, and they one of the t1 precious treasures, not exactly a tradeskill componant, but i figured I would ask as brigs had origionally been required to kill mobs that were gray at 80(mentored of course) or buy the robes, so the same might be possible that the obsidian is in some out of the way place like newbie zones...Just a curious question and I hope this is figured out soon.

This has to be the most annoying quest a dev can possible create. 20 pieces of Obsidian..  I know most defilers have searched all over Norrath for this imaginary rock, from harvesting to checking merchants and we still can't find it. Is it under a Dev's desk? let me know I will fly out to harvest it.The lack of response from SoE to this issue  is more baffling than the Obsidian itself.  We have searched from t1 to t8 zones and come up with nothing. Like earlier posts made here and Defiler class forum it is sad that Mythical Epics are being discovered and yet we are stuck on 2nd step of our heroic quest. Please get of your buttocks and give us a clue. We don't want the Obsidians to magically appear in our bags but just a hint that it is a harvest item or merchant bought would be nice.Not only are we the laughing stock of EQ2 now, I don't even feel the urge to log on just for the pure disappointment I feel when I log on and knowing NOTHING has been done. TY very much for this EPIC waste of time.

Sorry to say sony drop the ball on this quest 5 days and counting and no one can find OBSIDIAN when evey class has gotten their epics and even some have their mhytical one already comon on this one just say you guys blew it Defilers being stuck on just the secomd quest of fabled version of epic is just plain [Removed for Content] thank you SOE

It is really sad already... Defiler weapon is now the ONLY weapon not discovered. It's not like we are asking to be spoon fed the quest line just a simple OOOOPS we messed up or yes it is there keep looking. A little aknowledgemnt would be fantastic!

I REALLY do not think this is asking to much. It has been a [Removed for Content] week already and every Defiler WW looking for this crap and nothing.

I am getting completely discouraged also, trying to check items that have some shred of a connection, but coming up with nothing. Most quests like this, here is an accompanying note to tell us where to find the god dam parts we need. bleh discouraged and beaten

I agree with everyone. I DO NOT WANT to be spoon fed the location. I want to be able to enjoy my Epic quest like every other class has been able too. Its not hard to give us a hint. Hell I will wait a day if you guys state your working on a good riddle onto how-to find it. I like solving puzzles, but I do NOT like to be given a clueless task that will drive even the most hardcore players who will not give up searching brain dead.

Obsidian is a type of naturally occurring glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly through the glass transition temperature and freezes without sufficient time for crystal growth. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where cooling of the lava is rapid. Because of the lack of crystal structure, obsidian blade edges can reach almost molecular thinness, leading to its ancient use as projectile points, and its modern use as surgical scalpel blades.

Have you guys checked every volcanic region in the game?  Lavastorm/Sol's Eye, Skyfire, Veeshan's Peak, most of DoF, Firemyst Gully...  I'm running out of ideas, but that's where I'd start if you haven't been there.

Head to the very North East corner of the Fens in the sea to kill a lvl 80^ mob called Guagua who drops a no trade item "An Old Medicine Bag".-2370,-450,-2185

Now go to speak to Crowhood the Olden who is on the beach just to the south of Guagua.

She gives the Quest "The dream Scorcher" and a Charm called Crowhood Totem . You need to activate this item in a location in 4 zones. The first one is in the Fens at the far corner of the Ruins of Cablilis 367,19,-1509 The next is in KP location in the yeti caves at 1,326,410,-1038 Third location is in Jarsath Wastes at the temple of the Red Lord -2464,315,297 Next update is in the Jungle 182, 87, -416 Inspect the tomb close to the 4th totem, 4 lvl 83 heroic will spawn and aggro. You must be able to speak ykeshan to read the tomb. After killing them a named lvl 84^^^ Incuuba will spawn, kill him. Then back to Fens and talk to Crowhood. She sends you to North Freeport to talk to Mizzog the Sighted (-45, -25, -50).

Part 2:

SEBILIS

second level. -149, -133, 339 - clicky update in Snaggletooths room. (Skeleton?) - (confirmed)

"An ancient idol used to pray to the Faceless. Sebilite iksars of old were known to carry them."

CHELSITH

Kill the final named Leviathan creature. - confirmed

"A dreamward of a bygone god-fearing people."

KUNZAR JUNGLE Purchase a Quivering Sphere of Panic, for 2p 40g, from Bulgup Urple, 40k faction - 475, -95, 910. - confirmed

Requires Reet faction to purchase.

"A sphere of panic, which to break. Slaves coveted these to strike back at their masters."

UNREST

Kill The Priest of Fear, 30, 25, 190. - confirmed

You must complete the zone up until this point.

"An old book of scripture used by a priest of the Faceless."

MISTMOORE CASTLE

Kill Huntmaster Viswin or his placeholder - both confirmed

Still NEEDED: 20 pieces of obsidian

Using your portable sewing kit in order to create your medicine bag. The Master of the Hunt's Clasp must be obtained from the Master of the Hunt, in Mistmoore Castle.

"Lastly, use the design to create your own medicine bag..."

You can unroll the Defiler Sewing Kit in the Field of bone, underneath the ghost dragon, between his ribcage and skull.

Yes MULTIPLE times and I've heard that definition in defiler chat about a thousand times over the last 5 days.

I'd like to see where Gnobrin saw that folks were able to progress...  We've had folks linking all the pieces they've found and sharing where they've found them.  I would be surprised if a Defiler has it done and hasn't shared, considering that would be the only class that didn't share.

Same here.  I've searched everywhere.  Killed everything I thought of.  And still nothing... talked with everyone throughout WW Channel.  I don't like quests like this to be simple... but when you've spent almost a week looking for a rock??  We've even looked at the EQ1 Epic line and searched those areas of EQ2 MULTIPLE times.  I'm tired of going through these zones over and over.. to find the same thing .. NOTHING.

Just throwing ideas out there for ya.  Guildmate swore up and down that he'd been all over LP and MMC looking for the vampire den when the Ranger epic was just getting going...Where did he find it?  Back of MMC, just like I told him.The other thing to consider is that it's one of the quests afflicted by epicitis.  The devs still haven't said anything about it.Hint hint, dev guys.

The quest has not been progressed (No bag crafted).The quest has been broken for nearly a week and has wasted thousands of defiler hours searching for this thing.A fix, and public apology, should be issued immediately.
