![]() Sorry if I am asking something that has already been addressed, but I searched and searched.. Now I am not sure whether this was in the Jan 28th patch or the 2/6 update, but all of a sudden, I am getting lots of flashing lines, certain objects flash, and various other graphics issues. I have Dual SLI 7900GT cards, Vista 32, 4gb ram.. I havent changed anything ...

![]() Last night, I downloaded a fresh install of EQ2 - same problem. Certain items on the screen flash, sometimes it will be a piece of woodwork in the building I am in, sometimes a piece of clothing on an NCP, and I dont know what else to do. I have played with all of my settings, and of course put them back to my original settings.. the ones I have been using for years.. Is this a known issue? I can't play with it doing this...

![]() Wow, sorry you're having trouble but glad at the same time. I thoght I was going crazy. Happened to me as well. I spent two hours on the phone with Dell support and though that was sort of pointless, it led me to a problem with an Nvidia file called, I believe... nv4.dll. Tech had me download a patch for an nv4infiniteloop issue which cleared it up for about 15 minutes. Event viewer shows a problem with the file. I've had one other machine do this, and the fix was found on these forums. I was about to start my search for it when I saw yours. I updated my video drivers to the latest and reseated the video cards anyway but still having the problem. If I find a good solution I'll post to your post too. But I suggest you start looking at your event viewer to see if there are any problems listed there. Let me know if you come up with anything too? Good luck! |

![]() I *think* I may have found the problem, but its strange because I never had to do this before - I checked off "Synchronize Refresh" in EQ2... but I know it never has been.. and the problem seems to be cleared up - but I didnt play long enough to know or not.. I will update everyone..

![]() I will have to try that. I did a safemode uninstall and reinstall of drivers and ran the nv4loopfix but it still happens. I find when it happens I can minimize EQ2 and restore it up to window and it's fine until the next "loop" problem. It's not hardware related exactly, because it also started as soon as this last GU went in. The longest I was able to play without the issue is 3 hours, but then tonight it's happened about 3 times in 2 hours. If I can get to the minimize button, it will clear up until the next time though. Looks like timed writs are out of the question until I know for sure this is working. Thanks for the info on the Synchronize refresh. I'll give that a go. Please keep us posted, I'm sure others are having a similiar problem given the posts about crashing. In fact, I never did see the error message on screen but in event viewer after the fact. Blue screen of death pointing to the nv4_disp.dll |

![]() I'm still having a problem with this. After a long time or short time, one video card, or two, old drivers, new drivers, sli or non-sli the video will freak out start changing colors on the whole screen or go into some sort of psychedelic icon look on everything on the screen. Sometimes the text on the screen will look like it's a bunch of thin white lines (like upc barcodes) and you can't read it at all. Still looking for a resolution but I've seen four other posts about this exact same issue. Any one? |
