Chat Functionality Bugged by Friday 02/08 patch

Since the patch I have lost all guild chat and the ability to see what i am saying -- not sure what other channels are missing yet but this is the immediate situation. The folks on test were discussing it quite prolifically as well so I can deduce i am not the only person with this issue! Thanks in advance!

Identical problem. I can continue to open up new chat windows or loading uisettings to "refresh" the chat but it never refreshes on its own.

Alternate chat windows seem to be the issue - chat of all kinds works perfectly in the Primary chat window

Beyond that, the chat functions are turned off completely to other windows (until the settings of which chat is filtered into that window is manipulated - but even then it only shows previous text already past, not upcoming current ones)

Same thing here with me on The Bazaar server. Secondary chat window with group chat, guild chat and private tells is not working at all, cant even get past chat to show. Main chat window with the regular world chat channels seems to be working fine.

All my chat channels are fine except Guild, i need to turn it off/on again just to get it to update.

I am aware of these issues, as the rest of the team comes in I'll try and get updates and ETAs for this issue. I will update as soon as I know anything new.

My chat is also COMPLETELY broken.I've tried the "load_uisettings" trick.. no luck.I've tried opening a new chat window.. no luck.Regardless of the "primary" (as some indicted) window, no chat ANYWHERE.The ONLY thing that works: Open your chat-options, select...anything..close the window. You'll see any text that has gone by... but that's ALL you'll see until you repeat this step... eg. Re-open your chat options AGAIN, select any option (that doesn't obviously disable tells... as an example, loot-rolls)... and again, you'll see text that's gone BY..but will not be able to see any more text until you repeat this...again.Furthermore, I don't see any "emote" bubbles above my head. as in /say Hello.. I expect to see a white bubble above my head, but nothing. -- Coz

Same issue here on Befallen.

1. Tried the delete file trick - did not work

2. Tried removing windows and adding all to main - all previous txt response EXCEPT guild posted. NO prior or current guild chat at all.

Im having issues on Najena.

I log in and everything is dead in my chat cept a little greeting says welcome to everquest 2.

I type and nothing pops up in my chat box or any tabs i have.

I read these posts and saw people saying chat not updating. So i switch chat text from one tab to next and finally i see chat. BUT i have to keep resetting what tab chat text goes into to get it to update so i can see what i typed and replies from other people.

Otherwise chat doesnt work for me at all. I see nothing. =(

Same... no issue yesterday but it started today. Even if I only have one main window it doesn't update unless I manually reset the options.

Okay, same issue on TWO accounts......one account uses no UI Mod except EQ2maps.....other account uses NO UI MOD whatsoever. Both accounts are jacked as far as separate windows.

All chat and info going to main chat window work great. Moving all information here will allow you to view it. All chat and info going to a separate window will not display unless you uncheck and then check again (but this doesn't fix it, will not update after unless you do it again). Anything in main chat window works great....all tabs etc. ONLY SEPARATE WINDOWS ARE BROKEN SMILEY

again........NO UI MODS.......so it cannot be those. please fix SMILEY

After a bit of testing all chat works fine as long as all the chat windows are in the main chat window. This means alot of tab clicking if you watch more than one window. Dragging a tab outside the main chat window will disable it.

in the meantime, is there a possible console command to use in order to force the window to update via the above described method?something such as making a macro to filter out, then unfilter the "Guild" channel to force the entire window to update on one click?

TSR-DanT:This issue bugs me, and pardon me if this sounds rude, but there's no saying what the timetable is like to find the bug, and have it fixed.I've been going through slash commands on my monk for about 10 minutes now, in hopes of creating a macro that will be able to forcefully update my main chat window.If I am successful at creating such a macro, thus providing a short-term solution, would it be crossing the line to post the macro in this topic, while your end is nailing down a more permanent solution?

For me and my husband tab 1 is the one that works. I just put all my channels in there for now, and no problem. Might want to try out a few tabs before you find the one that works.

If you come up with a temp solution that is within the normal means of the game (IE no third party program assistance) then you should feel free to post it up, yep.

I've so far had no luck browsing through console commands allowed to me through the game. It seems that the specific options and variables set for chat tabs aren't able to be altered except through the in-game menu. Disappointed, but I didn't expect to magically beat them to the punch anyhow.Breakfast time.

Best bet so far...Find the one tab that works (usually there is at least one)Remove all other tabs, then create the tabs you need (just don't drag them off as a separate window)You might want to backup your ui first for when the issue is fixed
