Was zoning into an instance and was booted to desktop with an error saying that my username and/or password were wrong - went to log back in with that account and got the "the operation has timed out" error and cannot log in with that account.

Which sucks because that's where my mains reside.  Please take a look at it!

PS: the exact error said "Invalid Username"  when we zoned,  I found out that another person in the group got booted as well.

I'm seeing the same thing on my main account, I can't even login to the forums here with that account. I can only login to the forums and EQ2 itself with this account.

Same thing here, zoned to Loping Plains, then it told me login was rejected for invalid username or password.  Now i cant log back in on main account, this is an alt account also.  Try to log in with name and password to main account and it times out, try to log in to forums on main acct and it tells me invalid username or password. At least i know its not just me

Wife tried to log into Station Account info thing

This is the error she gets

  • Error Code: error.authentication.retrieval.fail
  • So yeah... authentication servers are hosed yet again.  Never had these problems under the old authentication servers.

    Problems with new ones:

Drops various add-ons such as EQ2players options off the account randomlyDouble charged 2 times for EQ2PlayersRepetative problems authenticating logins

Please fix this stuff.  Its a weekend, during the holidays... would like to play with my wife.

    Argh!

Three boxing...Saturday night...wanted to get some quests done. 5% from level.

2 of my 3 accounts got booted when I zoned...now neither of them can login or post on the forums.

This is not server downtime. This is a restriction on services that we pay for. Please fix this before it gets out of hand. If you need information, please feel free to solicit it, but as it stands, I cannot access a service that I pay for.

Apologize for the frustration but it's PRIME time of the day and PRIME time of the week for me. (there was not a worse time for this to happen)

Happened to me on one of my 3 accounts, locked out for about an hour, also crashed on zoning with a login error message. The other 2 are fine.

I'm back in, also.... Just one question.. What the bloody hell is wrong with this, I couldn't log on to the web site, or the game, I'm staying clear of the Severexcange right now, I keep hearing it's bugged out. v.v I love EQ2, because of how they had things, but v.v Dam, it's all falling apart.

Happening to me too, but I'm glad they know about it. And to those in this thread who are belly-aching about this issue,  remember that before you sign in, you always click "I Agree" to an EUA. In this it says, and I quote, "Further, we cannot and do not promise to ensure that you will be able to access your Account whenever you want..." So don't complain when you can't login. You pretty much agree you won't.Edit: Ah, it's fixed. Thanks for the prompt response to this issue!

So don't complain.  I don't want to just jump in and flame, but what you're more or less saying IMO is that people have no right to complain if something is broken then.  Sorry, but I will complain.  I will be civil and try my best to report in a way that provides information without being insulting, but I will complain.

Guess I'm not going to just bend over and take it if something is broken, even if you feel we should.

Now, I will compliment SOE for a fairly quick reply.  I was punted about 9:45 PM Pacific, got back in about 10:45 PM pacific.  Hour of downtime on a weekend right before a holiday isn't too horrid.  Having said that, I don't recall seeing such errors before LoN launched.  I'm not trying to flame LoN, and yes it could be coincedence.  But I do wonder if it is somehow related.  I admit I'm randomly guessing.

I didn't say you couldn't bring an issue to Sony's attention when it needs to be fixed. They obviously need to know about login issues (though, honestly, they probably know before most people) or anything else vital of the sort. But there is no reason to complain that you cannot login to a game, especially when you agree that you may not be able to access your account at all times. Please be my guest to complain about login issues, but do us all a favor and complain on the right channel by disagreeing to EULA, and moreover, the fact that you want to access your account all the time which Sony will not promise. Oh, and you might also disagree to the first article about being an adult while you're "complaining."

im sorry but when i pay people money for a service i expect that it to work. i know stuff will happen, which is no big deal. but saying i have no reason to complain is foolish at best, by me paying them money for a service and then not getting that service. would pretty much be stealing from me, same why if i said ya ill fix your car for 500 bucks and say after giving you the keys back that you agree that your car may not start 100% of the time from now on.

There were temporary Login Issues on Dec 29th, 10pm PST. Please read the linked thread for more information. As stated within that thread:

"Everything should be available once again.  Please log out fully before trying to log in again and contact CS if you continue to have problems."

So this doesn't continue done the path that it's starting to head, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.Thank you.Morningside
