Selo's upgrade - Page 2

For what its worth I would like to add my opinion also. I was very sad as well to see we were not upgraded on Selo. Both bard types dirge and troub should IMO be the fastest classes. I agree that there should be some rare mount maybe faster than us, but we should not be outdone by other classes and forced to wear gray gear to just be at pace with sow. Bards had always been known for their speed before we were left by the wayside. It wouldn't make or break the game to give us one of what used to be our defining characteristics, it would just make a whole lot more folks more satisfied with their class.

well my Troub isn't my main, but I really am disappointed that Selo's was not upgraded. One poster in the troub boards that I saw asking about run speed with two replies - there isn't any fight left in the troubs. Would whomever works on the bards please grow a pair and correct this, it's a flat out insult the the Bard community as a whole.I dig the game a lot, and play a lot of characters and would probably drink a beer with any of the devs, but you Mr. or Mrs. or Miss Bard Dev are NOT on my drink a beer with list..... you're on the Bad Santa list...

Yeah.....long gone are the days of EQ1 where I could run backwards and taunt my group mates running behnnd me. Lord knows that out of combat travel speed......and travel time in general is soooooooo important in EQ2 that it simply cannot be increased. No sir.......just can't do it........game breaking stuff here. Can't toss the Bards a bone and make some happy customers.......THAT would make too much sense.

Ok.....can someone get a mop and clean up all this sarcasm?

I too am disappointed in the lack of an upgrade. It was frustrating when they finally did upgrade it last time ... since it scaled and the lower levels did not get the full boost. In hind sight I can see why it was scaled back for level purposes. However, at this time with new rhinoes that anyone can pick up with 50% plus to speed which was available on some mounts in EOF, I have a hard time at 56% speed keeping up with folks. Wearing Girdle of Escape or JBoots + going down the WIS line. I hate the idea that I have to go down an AA line just for the buff that we should have in the first place. Yes make rangers and furies and other healy types go down thier AA line for these boosts. The bards should have it as a normal upgrade imo, not an AA line that adds to thier mediocre run speed.

All in all the ROK expansion I really enjoy. The Emotional Dirge issue and other dirge spell scaling is hard to swallow as well, this just adds salt to the wound imo.

That assumes that there IS someone who works on bards. After a couple of years, I am unconvinced this person exists.

What do I think of when I tihnk of Selo's (being an old EQ1 player)

Selo's upgrade for T8 *should* be:

1) 60-65% run speed buff out of combat

2) should have the look that the carpet gives you - off the ground by a foot or so

3) should have fae glide atached to it *** possibly via AA

I don't think Bard's should have to use AA to struggle to keep up with other classes. Predator (or is it just Rangers) buff their speed to 56 without using JBoots.

Bards fair at a lot of things and hisorically only great at one thing and that was running fast as couriers.

I'd realy be interested in knowing why bard's are left with crap run speed and unscalable utility.......

Someone suggested there isn't a bard dev... I'm inclined to agree.
