Can you target yourself to use Summon Shadows to make yourself invisible.  It says "group friend" but I've seen a couple of posts where people imply you can use it on yourself.

yes you can use it on yourself. either target yourself with F1 and use it or have nothing targetted and use it.

thanks.  would have been much easier to figure that out if Sony hadn't have labeled it as "group friend"

You can target yourself with any group/friend spell, or raid/group friend spell.  After all you are a member of your own group/raid.

Also, since GU41, supposedly (according to the patch notes, although I haven't actually tested it yet,) casting benefitial spells like summon shadows on a hostile target with no implied target will automatically target yourself.

What I do is right click summon shadows and "create macro." I type my name in there so it casts on me only no matter what I target. I never cast it on anyone else, and if I need to I can just take my name off it as the target.

If you have nothing targeted when you cast this spell it will make you invisible. You do not need to specifically target yourself.

You don't need too, but I hate accidently targeting others. I mainly do this from playing my necro and invising my pet all the time.

since 99.5% of the time, I'm casting this on myself, I made my hotbar one a macro with myself as the target

Its a fun spell too! A RL friend and I can get pretty creative about how we get eachother killed. Dropping his invis at just the right time has made for more than a couple laughs. I dont suggest just doing this to anyone though, not all appreciate it P.
