Duel a friend and let them kill you.  No penalties and the drunkeness goes away.  Dying in the normal PvE or PvP fashion works as well, with penalties of course, such as they are.  Otherwise, nope.

You can negate most of the effects if you have Ultra Vision or Sonic Vision. Your vision will still sway a bit but it will negate the crossed eyes effect as long as it is your racial vision is active.

I never found any use for this, RP or non-RP.  Maybe to have a drunken race, but the skill up seems pointless.  I think I drank once when the alcohol was first introduced.  Played an alt until the crap went off and deleted the rest of it.

I found it quit challenging to hunt strong mobs with the drunk effect on.... but then again, not every day... but every now and then when in a strange mood? Sure SMILEY.Femke.

How can you fail to see the RP value of alchohol?

Ingwid and Wajah are totally drunken sods, froglok scouts.  Their whole existance is about staying drunk all the time.  They don't care about, names, loot, quests, none of that matters to the two of them.  All they care about is staying drunk.  They have been this way since way before there was any effect to alchohol, but I was very happy when they added the effects.  Ingwid is one of my all time favorite roleplaying characters, in a career that has seen literally hundreds of characters come and go.

There was no use for the drunken effect in eq1 either till LDoN.. then all hell broke loose on some of those traps.. bad mojo to not have been a lush when the effect was a trap and you got so sloshed you couldn't see, at least if you maxxed tolerance the effect was minimual.

i was drunk once while messing with graphics, i turned them all the way down, and once i did that, the drunk effect was gone.  So if you can bear to play the game with poor graphics for a while, thats an option

Isn't the drunken effect a buff?

I thought it was cancelable?

Actually, in EQ1, being drunk would increase your mana regen or some such.  Increasing your alcohol tolerance made it so that you could get the benefit without actually being drunk. But I much preferred the EQ1 drunk effects... especially how it affected your typing!- Katsi

Raise your tolerance by zoning a few times, every once in while zoning drunk my alcohol tolerance goes up, when it goes up the time of drunkenness goes down. For other effects I would like to see more weaving, loss of Wis/Int/Agi with an increase of Str/Stam/avoidance(due to falling on @$$) make the Str line for Monks the Drunken Monk line where we get all sorts of Drunken While Raiding bonuses lol

I also prefer the EQ1 drunken effects over the EQ2 version.  Much more fun to roleplay with and way more amusing to try to run around trashed.
