I thought it was a joke anyway, when someone asked in level chat how long the update would be and I replied, "Brief updates' can be anywhere from 30 min to 12 hours..."

Jeesh, you didn't have to take me so seriously :-p

No, it will NEVER finish & the servers will NEVER come back up & you'll be stuck forever & ever & ever paying for a game you can't play.

Apparently the word "estimated" flew right on past you, too.

apperently u only have one response? estimation and a complete shot in the dark are different when servers came down for RoK it was server spammed as a brief update defiantly spot on with that estimation

It's the only one to give.

Google "estimated", see what it says, & realize that it doesn't mean, or even imply, 100% accuracy. Then, calm down & know your server will be up, when it's ready to come up.

I had this vision, sitting here trying to log in, of a dev and some code monkies sitting around patching servers, when one of them looks up from his email and says " No kidding? What do you mean bards run speed is still borked? HOLY COW, ALPHA TEAM BREAK, WE HAVE A CODE BLUE!, these poor guys have been waiting on this fix FOR THREE YEARS, we will not stand for this atrocity one more minute!! To the Dev Cave Robin!"

Its our fault, specificly mine. I should have never sent that email....

Well Guk is in locked status now lol...so maybe they will come up in 15 mins or so! im patient enough to wait...dont see why you all cant wait for a bit longer...it does say estimated...which means that it isnt garunteed downtime (my definition hah)...

Well, that would depend on whether or not you told me "I'll be there EXACTLY at such-&-such time", or "I ESTIMATE I'll be there at such & such time."

If you told me the former, I'd be upset. If you told me the latter, & showed up an hour later, I'd understand.

Because, see, that's what "estimated" means.

Um ... I'm terribly not sorry to inject some logic & reality into your whine party. I will, however, bring the cheeze & crackers.

But what he said is truthful...the patch notes say estimated downtime of 1 hour...not exactly one hour SMILEY

This thread is now being locked as it has turned into an argument as opposed to a constructive discussion.
