![]() Have been feeding my Burynai house pet and getting mostly collectibles but also getting items that look like they should be collectible but they are not flagged as such. Items include: Medium chipped naga incisor, medium worn crocdile molar, medium chipped Muhut Ew molar, and small broken harpy molar. Are these collectibles just missing the collectible flag or are they something else? |

I would imagine that this is intentional

Based on what? They look like a collectible, named like a collectible, but not acting like a collectible..

I got a Medium Chipped Naga Molar the first time I fed it and thought it was a collectible until I tried to examine it. I just figured it had a chance to give you vendor trash rather than collectibles sometimes, but given the look of the item I suppose it is possible they could have forgotten to flag some of the new collections.

That is really the point. I only listed 4 but have about 10 or 12 different ones. The ones I have are all variants of crocodile, naga, harpy and Muhut Ew and pretty much follow the set characteristics of previous teeth collection sets. I seriously doubt that they would put in sets of vendor trash. |

I've seen two people on Splitpaw claim to get the new RoK Expert Collection glasses from their pet!

Yep. The pet seems to have a (very) rare chance to spit out a collection /reward/ instead of a shiny. In addition to the Kunark glasses (discovery, yay!), I've gotten LORE house items like another set of grinnin bones, bloodstone shards, etc. It /will/ give you a second LORE item if the first one is already placed in your house. It even tried to give me another set of EoF glasses, but I already had them.I'd feel slightly bad about the Kunark glasses if I hadn't already been almost finished with the Expert collection anyway. I had thousands of plant food items stocked up. :> But I wonder if this is intended behavior. The digger seems to give out far, far too many "rare" shinies. I don't object to this in principle, since they've always been too rare and a bit too inaccessible to the average player, but again I don't know if this is intended.Law of unintended consequences, etc; the prices on shinies are coming down, but plant food is generally about a plat at the cheapest, and I doubt we'll ever see it lower than 1g again for any tier if the digger's drop rate remains constant.

Yes, some items made it onto the list that should not have. These have been removed.

Nice to see a thread about the topic I coming here for. And even nicer to see a dev response and fix. Cheers.

Can you feed them anything other than "plant food"?

Was it just the various size teeth like posted in this thread or did you also remove the long lost collectables that seem to either never made it into the game or were removed in the past? Also what about the fact that you can get actual collectable quest rewards from the guy? Like the Kunark/Faydward goggles and the various House Item Scrolls and such? |

Dumb question, I did not see an option to feed my pet. How do I feed it?

ahh, ok, that explains it then. Where do I obtain fertalizer or plant food. Is it sold on the broker? Is there anyting dropped off of mobs that does not say fertalizer or plant food that would work for such a purpose?

Sold and dropped. Or rather, dropped and then sold.

As common as the fertiliser bits are, I'm surprised at the high return rate of the Burynai. I assumed there would at least be a timer and that generally one would get common collection items, to be honest.I've stopped feeding it. I love spotting a sparkly and running over to it and pulling it out of the ground and hoping it'll be useful. The Burynai felt like a sort of slot machine -- or worse, a rat pressing a button to get that next bit of food. There was no excitement, even as I started collections I'd never seen before. I thought it was a good idea when I first read about it but my Burynai had better start digging for food because I'm not feeding him anymore.Edit: I said to be honest three times. Even I am not THAT honest. ![]() |

Even I am not THAT honest. I think the Burynai was a mistake really. The one thing that everyone loved and that they got totally right was the collection quest system. They should have not tinkered with that. They have now pretty much trivilaized collections as a whole with the introduction of the Burynai. You see in this very thread someone who said they had stockpiled thousands of the fertilizer items. That is one person logging in and having thousands of shinies at his fingertips. The very least they could have done was have the pets eat something totally new with the expansion. They didn't even bother with that. They could have also at least limited the pet shiny list to previous expansions as well, Was pretty dumb to have it dropping the new collections. I won't even go into having it drop collection rewards, that was beyond dumb. I doubt anyone feels quite the same about collections as they did prior to the Burynai pet introduction. I certainly do not. |

The reason I'm liking it right now, is because its allowing me to get collections that didn't seem to exist before, or were removed for some reason before I started playing. But in the end, this is really going to destroy the collectables market and make them that much less special. When I first heard of the Burynai guy, I figured he'd have a special collection that you could only get from him with a neat house item or something. I certainly did not imagine that he'd be spitting out every collectable under the sun (notice it seems he actually hands out the rare ones more often?).Oh well, they should probably give it a cooldown or something.I've stopped feeding it. Shush! Don't destroy the opportunity to get these things for others. Many still haven't got their pet because SOE failed to distribute keys to stores with preorders (even though they announced every online preorder would get one). Nerfing the pet now would be very unfair towards those, that suffer from the fact that preorder key distribution doesn't work, yet. You already stocked up on rares so it is hypocritical to ask for a nerf

![]() I kinda feel that the food you feed him maybe should be based on Tier of food you give him like for example Tier 1 gives all the tier ones colections you can get that in the Graveyard, Forest Ruins, Greater Feydar, Sunken City, Wailing caves, CL and Ant.........there is few other of these zones that fit this but that is how it show go so the food from RoK should give Rok collections and so on but the coding for that is trick I guess. This would slow down mass collections you seeing if it was base on tier of food being feed if that makes sense. I love getting em but feeding him tier one food and getting a rare out Rok or even EoF is really going to hurt the market for them but I thought I read somewhere that a Dev has said something about how they wanted make easier to get these especially the rare ones but I could be wrong. /shrugs Edited to add I really wouldn't want to see it get change but feel that for few that are complaining about this that this might get changed so I wanted put in my two sense if it was going to be changed. |

They appear to have finally nerfed the Burynai. He now requires one of each type of plant food--bones, fertilizer, and water--before he will eat. He'll chomp all three of those and crap out a shiny.I'm glad of this, despite being one of the people who cashed in on it by stockpiling plant food. It was unbalanced before, where you could just churn out shinies by the stack. You can still get a lot of shinies, but you'll run out of plant food three times as fast, and you have to have all three types, instead of him just eating anything. It still gives people who might never be able to make it into one of the higher-tier zones the chance to complete one of those collections, and I think that's a good thing too.The funny thing is that I stocked up on plant food before the expansion mainly because I use it to make power roots for raid, and figured if the pet was going to eat plant food the prices would go up, so I'd better get it while I could. I didn't expect him to generate a cash cow the way he did.So bravo on a perfect fix, from one of the people who would've benefited enormously from it not being nerfed.

So did the fix also remove the valid yet lost collection items like the terracotta chips and such? Or just the ones that won't actually go into the journal?I hope we're not going to be stuck with somewhat-filled impossible to complete collections in our journals for the rest of our lives.

Since the nerf went in I havn't seen any of the long lost collections, but I havnt turned in nearly as many food items as I did before the nerf. |

They didn't remove any of the chipped Muhut Ew baby teeth or crocodile biters, naga chompers, or harpy gizmos that I had already gotten. They are still just sitting there homeless and uncollectible. Haven't really fed the Burynai since so have no idea what still drops or not.

I am fairly sure the "fix" was to remove the quest rewards from the list. No more RoK glasses from the burynai. I hope they left in the "removed" collections.

![]() So, I finally got around to playing with my Burynai pet ... Took me forever to get my Pre-buy bonus in the first place but that's a seperate screw up .. I have been occassionally stock piling those plant food/water/dirt anyway for the AA rewards for each of my alts so I had a nice big box full of them. After 3 mins of feeding all I can say is .. " The Dev that implemented this idea should be hit across the head with box .. repeatively " Why the heck didn't they just co-opt the set up that the KoS Plant has? Where we would have to figure out the right combination of items to feed the badger to get a reward?! I, personally, would have created a couple collection quests specific to this pet and used the KoS Plant set-up and let people discover a couple of cool limited collection quests. Instead of spitting out this pet that is now basically game breaking. If you don't have it ..you're SOL! There isn't even a time-out on this thing. Collect the food/water/dirt and feed till you're out .. repeat and rinse. My god. It's a farmers dream come true. Because, the collection market might see a downswing for a short time but by the next expansion hits and/or new people come in .. the people with these pets will always have a money maker .. The reason why some collection prices are high is because there is/was risk involved with some of them. Now, this pet is spitting out collections left and right. I think I got a blue shiny item, even. |
