I'd been successfully downloading the RoK expansion for a little bit when the patcher now cancels itself at this point, it downloads the file but gets an error and cancels itself when decompressing it.I have tried restarting the patcher numerous times, hitting download a lot, and even found the file eq2_keymap_United States.ini in my folders and deleted it, but always the same error and cancelling of the download.Any ideas as to what I can do about this? Or if it is a known problem please?

Same problem here - not really surprised. I'd fall off my chair in shock if SOE released something that worked 1st time.

Yes I am from EU as well. I guess we can abandon hope that this will be fixed in next couple days since this seems to be EU specific problem.

I had the same problem, just stopped at the US keymap file.
Switched to US region and now its patching fine SMILEY
I'm guessing it should work fine to patch using the US region, then switch to EU region when everything done. As far as I know there are only a few files that is different between the 2 regions SMILEY

Very helpful, however since SOE have admitted that the Devs never read the forums, even less so on launch days, I fear this will land on deaf ears.

This worked for me. Downloaded everything fine with US region selected and then changed back to EU and it didn't start downloading anything new and I could try connecting to servers just fine.

I'm from the US and had the same problem with the download cancelling itself when I only had a couple hours time left.  The launcher seemed to repatch itself when I fired it up again and now it has over 13 hours to dl?  Thats just insane considering I'm on broadband. I'm not too happy about the new estimated dl time I have popping up.

There's a known patching issue, and it's being worked on presently.  Very sorry for the trouble, all.

I basically switched to US download, let it download that file (and maybe few others while I was making a coffee) and then switched back to EU. This worked fine and patcher is continuing. Looks like the speed on EU servers is much better (or maybe they are less loaded) too.

I want to know who's lame idea is was not to do the incremental downloads and why in the hell do you make 2 expansions live on the same day when you [Removed for Content] well know your servers cant handle one expansion release/

I want to believe it's a new and exciting problem but it looks just like the last expansion. Brutally slow/stalled downloads just like the last expansion. Is it too much to expect that if the same problems occur expansion after expansion SOE might learn? Doing the same ineffective thing over and over again just does not cut it SMILEY It's not even like this is an unexpected spike in load....

How are you guys switching between patch servers?  I'd like to try my luck with using a EU server as I've been stuck on a file on both of my computers for over an hour (and not even 10%, and tried resetting patcher 100 times).

You can switch region by changing from US > EU in top right corner before choose accept on the EULA SMILEY<img src=" />I switched back to EU now as the US spent 1 hour downloading a 35 MB file on my 10 Mbit connection SMILEY

Patcher started to download (EU region German) and died again with a similar message. This time it was the filemod01_dun_tombs_of_night_SG.vpkMessage is:[22:33:49] Patcher: Downloading mod01_dun_tombs_of_night_SG.vpk [dloadsize=801732; totalsize=801732; crc=766550557][22:33:50] Patcher: Component filesize verification failed.  Local size 23868 vs. server size 90665[22:33:50] Patcher: Error with partial patch, cancelling immediately. File: mod01_dun_tombs_of_night_SG.vpkThe file size given in the mesage is wrong anyway. My local file has 800830 Bytes. As mentioned before deleting the file or a full scan doesn't fix the issue.

I too have been having problems with patch download canceling and restarting from scratch...Windows XP on East Coast in US.  I'm not hugely upset, as I expected these problems. However, I've been trying to do this since 4:00 pm PST time. Ah well, I guess I didn't beat the rush. Funny this is, I was on the phone with SOE support (totally different problem, and not releated to the game itself). While it took me some 30 minutes to get through to a live person, but the guy (Bryan or Brian) who answered was the nicest, helpful person you could ever expect to answer a tech line. He solved my account problems, answered my other questions, and bid me a wonderful evening gaming. Some 45 minutes later, the patch download canceled itself for the first time. Ah well..I have 3 days off to patch...LOL. I'm just way surprised to have such a friendly guy answer the phone, after he probably fielded some 40 other "SOE sucks!" calls. Heh.Oh, and the reason why I don't know at which point the patch dies? I've been busy doing RL things, and periodically come back to the computer, only to find the words Download Canceled. 3 hours after giving up and using an EU server to patch, I'm in game. After reselecting US server, game downloaded about files for about 5 minutes, btw.
