with the quest loot changes is it now possible to get the four golem hearts to finish this quest off of grey mobs? or am i still screwed?

I'm wondering this too. Currently in Cazic-Thule killing clay golems, I've killed about 10 so far with no chests containing clay golem hearts, I'm 70 and it's all gray. I'm on the quest The Heart of Fear at the step that asks me to collect the four clay golem hearts.

I haven't had any hearts drop yet, and I think they're lore.

Just killed another 10 or so and still haven't seen a chest drop. Does anyone know what the frequency of clay golem hearts dropping when the mobs are green? Zoning out now but I'm going to come back to this one.

been in ct on an alt recently... drop rate for the hearts with green con mobs was like 1 in 3 kills.

Back when I used to hunt there, before DoF came out, the hearts dropped off EVERY golem.

Back when I used to hunt there, before DoF came out, the hearts dropped off EVERY golem.

From mentoring down to high level in that zone a month or so back the golems would drop the heart off of a every kill in a small chest and it was no trade, not lore. I looked in the bank the other day and had like a dozen of them from finishing the quest. Was the heart a quest starter? Been awhile, but i thought it was needed later within the quest but not to start it?

well anyway, the hearts really need to be corpse drops off grays. how many people out level the quest without even knowing about it and can now never finish it unless they go and find someone to mentor.

It's needed later in the sanctum of fear to activate the mobs I think. It's not the quest starter but still is AFAIK an integral part of the quest.

I just completed The Heart of Fear. I mentored a level 52 guild mate and travelled over to CT, killed four clay golems and each of the four I killed yielded a small chest containg a clay golem heart which was NO-TRADE. I'd consider concluding "a clay golem heart" isn't working the same as the other quest drops, maybe because they're not quest starters.
