Switching Bloodlines Factions

At present it is not possible to switch bloodlines factions, which is infuriating for me as I picked the wrong one by accident and, as such, it dashes my hopes of a particular set of armour which I was particularly looking forward to. Call me stupid if you like, but this little thing was quite important to me.

(and yes I did petition, they told me since it was my mistake they could not help me).

Is it possible for this to be resolved at the design end? Maybe a way to switch factions? Or remove the mutually exclusive clause from the quest lines? Or have an alternative source for the rewards?
