LOL the posts that were just under the "unscheduled update" in the announcements were deleted and all that was changed was fixing it as "buffs/quest issues".. if that's the case.. I can't wait to get 200 more AA's when I log in later :p

We can make an educated guess that it's management who made this decision. And since we know through the scientific method that...the higher you go the less oxygen gets to the brain, we can conclude it's upper management.
It maybe upper management but you can bet some poor schmuck in the wrong place at the wrong time will take the fall. Cynicism is fun!

Not Sure..........

It didnt happen to me on the Nek server and i don't have access to the beta of Lon either so i think itwould be a fair assumption that it was a problem with the toons they were trying to allow play the game......

And if it wasnt just the people who had the beta version than this is really screwed up.......

Why do things like this have to happen when we have a three day weekend?

It's Like the Exec's at SOE are like....."Alright well we know everyone is playing this weekend so lets see what this button does that says "DO NOT TOUCH!!""

I play on the nek server too, but do have LoN access - tried it once and didn't like it.

I was trying to do the strange black rock hq this afternoon with my 2 characters 2-boxing. Handed in the palladium bangle on each and went back to varsoon only to lose my progress and require another 2 more bangles. If i don't get them returned in a rollback i'm gonna be very annoyed.

I am on Nektulos, I am not in beta, and I had quests resetting/disappearing on zone, poisons dropping on zone, and every buff not on my char at login droppin on zone.

I want nothing to do with this stupid card game.

I guess I have to question exactly why LoN was a mandatory download for everyone.

Why couldn't it have been an optional download, like adventure packs, for those who are in the beta or those who want to pay for the ability to play once it goes truly live.

I personally dislike having all this downtime and forced updating for something I won't do anything with and is creating so many other problems.

I agree with you 100%, perhaps after this little fiasco the "SOE is always Right" Pep Club will be less prone to rip your head off for suggesting it.

I spent 6 hours getting SOD updates in New Tunaria if there is a rollback and I lose that time, I am going to be seriously F'ing [Removed for Content].  LoN is the worst idea that SOE has come up with for EQ2, and this nonsense just adds weight to that assessment.

I normally don't post in these forums but...

This really just does irk me.  Heck I don't even play that much anymore.  But doing a beta test on live servers.. for something that it seems the majority of players (based on forum and people I talk to in game.. I mean I do play a healer so I am quite often grouped) don't want.  Just a really unprofessional decision.

Also coming from SWG.. rollback isn't in SOE's language.. but today I suppose it is.

Oh yes.. I am bitter.. *attempts to crawl back under his bridge.. but suddenly notices that it vanished on zoning and was replaced with a deck of cards*

Funny how they have made no attempt to speak with the player base what so ever.  Management said release the beta to the live servers and that's the way it's gonna be no matter how much we rant about it.LoN = Cash $$$$$$ it's that simple, enough peeps will become obsessed with getting the best of the best deck of cards and will spend more then ample real life hard currency that Sony Marketing and Management will continue to have absolutely useless crap like this introduced to the game.I think I have seen enough folks state if they wanted to play cards they wouldn't be logged into a MMORG... but then their market research says they can make a boat load of cash off this introduction and we as the player base just have to bear with all the absolute B.S. patches and stuff being broken while they work out the bugs on this game. Also in the meantime a few players that are in beta are making bags of plat selling those porting steins and what not to peeps with more plat then brains on my server... WORKING AS INTENDED SAYS SONY!!!If I wasn't so addicted to this game I would toss this away like a piece of trash and never look back.

Well, Splitpaw is still up and running. Is this just something that happened on US servers?
Yes, probably if it was the newest patch update that caused it. Remember that euro servers get their patches a day later than the US servers, so we aren't affected yet. I hope they will fix it before they patch us and not give us a broken patch, although at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we got the broker version SMILEYI hope they can fix it for our US friends and I hope you guys won't loose anything (or much). I hope for the best.

Yay for over-exaggerating.  Were the servers even up that long before they took them down again? From the few rumors I heard, one of the things they were trying to fix was an issue with characters crashing (raid-)zones when their character's amount of data to save got too big.  Though, have to wonder how this all got through internal testing... SMILEYAnd on looking back over what people have said, it sure seems like less data were being saved -- for *all* characters...

Maintenence was done after 45 minutes (It went down at 10 am eastern and I logged on after servers went live at 10:45).  So from 10:45 to about 1:07 pm eastern all the problems occured.  Everything from AFTER the patch was wonky.  so just over 2 hours.  So if he was working on SOD since before the patch.. he should have half or more of his progress.

Should take no time to roll back to the software in place before the stupid hotfix.

However, could take a long long time to roll back every one that got on after the hotfix; you know, the ones that got over a hundred new AA points because of a few zonings.
