Just got done talking to billing and here is their statement

"There was an error on the equinox sign up page, those that pre ordered the magazine prior to just a few days ago (if not today) will see a charge for the price of the magazine (17.89) plus an additonal charge, the *additonal charge* will drop off the account in a few days.  We realize the error and either have it fixed or are working hard to fix it, so basically if someone else wants to sign up for the magazine in the upcoming days/weeks they WILL NOT receive that pending charge on their account just the price of the magazine"

(to sum up lol)

Its weird that each person is charged differently.  I live in the US, and in Oregon so no taxes for me but I saw a pending charge of 17.89 and 12.99.

I also asked if this was cause of the shipment from UK or whatever cause I have ordered things thru SOE before and never saw an additional pending charge but they said it was because of the website error when people signed up.

Long story short: You should eventually only be charged for the price of the magazine, if you actually get charged more; call Billing SMILEY

Yeah I got double charged too. What I find odd is that both items have a different order number. It's like being charged for 2 different magazines instead of double charged for one.

I am royally mad I only had enough on my bank card for the correct billing and it ended up being the error billing so evidentally I am going to be out the magazine and the beta since the time frame they say its going to be credited back in takes it past the final time they will try to charge the preorders.

Has anyone got their beta invite for ordering this magazine.  I ordered mine a long time ago and still have yet to hear anything.

Hey guys,I've got some details together about the 'double charges' and wanted to share now that I know more of the picture. There was a snag in the system as orders were processed and some people will see two reserves on their account statements. I say 'reserves' because we have not actually charged anyone for the magazine yet. Charges will be applied when we ship the magazine to you - which is going to be within the six to eight week window that was noted on the ordering site. So yes, a few people have definitely seen two holds on their cards, but we have revoked the first one that glitched (for the wrong amount) and that will clear off as soon as your banks update their information. The second reserve, for the actual cost of the magazine, will be charged when your copy is shipped.RE: The beta keys. RoK is not in any form of public beta, so you shouldn't have your keys yet. Fear not. More information soon(tm).

It really amazes me that when there is a slight billing issue that nobody actually gets charged for SOE seems to respond in-mass yet during the entire time since the magazine was first put up for preorder there were apparently no efforts to resolve the in-ability of those of us serving our country overseas to order the magazine.

Truely is a sad state of affairs......

Actually, people were working on that my friend. Obviously we would like as many people as possible to get the magazine - it is going to be a good magazine and we want to celebrate that. I sent everything about ordering troubles that I could find up the chain and the people handling things did act on it. I'm not sure we are 100% clear on making sure anyone who wants it can get it so I haven't posted a "All ye problems be fixxed!" post as that would be misleading.

Good news!(and funny timing)The problems related to not being able to ship to some addresses should be fixed. So you should be able to get it no matter where you are. If you go through the process and it still won't let you order - PM your details to me (where your address is, but not THE address - I'm no stalker) and I'll get that into the right hands to see if we can find out why your mailbox is broken.  SMILEY

I canceled my preorder for the EQuinox magazine on August 7. The email from my cancellation is below. Yesterday, SOE charged me for this magazine and sent an email. I wonder if the charge will fall off altogether, like the double billing will... -------------------------- Dear XXXXXXXX, This is an email to verify that the recent pre-order you placed at the Station Store has been cancelled. No charges have been billed to your credit card. If the cancellation of your order is in error, please visit the Station Store at http://store.station.sony.com and place your order again. Thank you, and do visit us again! Sony Online Entertainment Inc. www.station.sony.com ---------------------------

I opened a ticket to CS regarding the double billing on 8/22, their response was that I submitted the order twice, although I received only one (1) confirmation for a single order on the day that I ordered it.  Since 8/22, I've been watching my bank account online, two (2) charges pending, then disappearing, then reappearing on my account.  As of today, 8/24 there are no pending charges....but, that doesn't mean it won't reappear on the next business day, Monday. My biggest disappointment is that I would probably miss the Beta invitation.....which is the reason WHY I ordered the magazine in the first place.SMILEY

Well, friends. It seems like the new scoop around the boards is that the beta invite for ordering the magazine was an SOE scam to get us to buy it. Looks like we'll have to fill out an app like everyone else and hope we get invited. I for one, am upset about this as it definitely did seem like the magazine pre orders would get guaranteed invite. They just never said when, so I guess we were stupid to fall for it.

And where do you see that? The only "fine print"(wich is accually in the same font and size as everything on that page) I could find says this

Pre-Order EQuinox and Receive EverQuest II Rise of Kunark Beta Program Invitation!*

*Terms and conditions may apply, including having already separately purchased and installed the EverQuest II full game software. Duh, you need the full game in order to play the game acceptance of the EverQuest II Rise of Kunark Beta Program Terms of Use and Non-Disclosure Agreement Again you can't play in beta unless you sign the NDA and the Terms of Use forums and having valid, current and active EverQuest II and Station accounts and again you need to be an active player to beta the game beta program registration. The only way to accept the NDP and RoK: Beta Program Terms of Use is to register for the beta, heck the only way to play the game is to register the game.

My addtions to the "fine Print" in red

Soon(tm) they will be putting a Beta sign up link on the main website, more then likly you will have to fill out the form that links off of that link.

If you preordered Equinox, we already have you matched to your Station ID and will be bringing you into the Beta when we are ready for the Equinox folks. So there is nothing you need to do to make sure that happens. Y'all just have to wait pensively while we get the beta set up and rolling so it's ready for the public. SMILEY

This is the part that concerns me. Is that going to be "sooner" rather than "later" or is that going to be like the last week of beta??

My guess is about the time they need to start load testing the zones, wich means probly about half way through Beta.

I have a question about setting up beta. Are you guys building a beta server from the ground up, or do you plan on retasking PvP-Test for the beta once the DW changes are fully tested and you can wipe it?

I got mine yesterday as well.Really really nice, but being familiar with alot of British made low circulation magazines, I wasn't surprised. SMILEY<img src=" />TON of content.  Lots and lots of unusual but fun articles.  It gives the general impression that EQ2 is actually a world and community, rather than just some video game guide mag.I really got a kick out of the full page guild ads too... thought they were fantasic and added to the emphasis that this is a community magazine SMILEY<img src=" />Loved it.  Great work.  And... nice and shiny!! SMILEY<img src=" />As for all you people wigging out over the beta:  Go listen to the podcast... they give status on the current state of RoK and how far from beta it is SMILEY
