Aura of Nihility

Just curious the description says "when target is damaged with a spell this spell with cast Aura of Pain on Target."

- Inflicts 659-806 disease damageon target

- Grants a total of 3 triggers of the spell

My question is would say casting Aura of Nihility then Void Distortion, Void Absolution, and Rift count as the 3 triggers? Sorry if it's a noob question.

No. Rift is magic damage. Aura only procs on poison damage.I usually follow it with Scourge, War Pyre, and Soul Blister.

Aura of Nihility procs on any spell damage, not just poison - and it can be from any player, not just you. You get the damage credit though, even if someone else proc's it.I snipped out stuff in between. As you can see, its proc'ing on heat, mental, and divine as well. Throwing your own spells on Aura of Pain is just a waste of time, mana and dps really.It triggers 3 times, why would you want to have it trigger on your own spells? you waste mana and casting time on hits/dps which other people can do for you.You should throw in Aura of Pain followed by a slower spell, like e.g. Void Absolution. This way the slow cast of void absolution is not entirely a waste of time, coz while you are waiting/casting void absolution, other sorcerer's spells are triggering your Aura of Pain 3 times. You get credit for 3 hits -while- casting a spell.

Just a heads up, I have found though that another warlock can overwrite your Aura with their own before you get 3 triggers. It doesnt happen offen since they trigger so quickly in a raid, but in a group, it can happen more often.
