The title is pretty self explanatory. Can anyone clarify exactly what goes on with "casting speed"? Also, haste increase is the same thing as casting speed increase? Or is it different?

Haste increases the frequency of your melee auto-attack, having an increase of 100% means you will attack twice as often as normal. Casting speed, as far as I know, only affects spells and not combat arts.  In general combat arts have effectively no casting time anyway, so it would be fairly pointless except for a few of the slower AOE attacks.  Note that casting speed only affects the casting time of the spell, reuse speed affects how soon you can cast the spell again.

This is not true about casting speed.  Brigands and rangers both have AA that increase their casting speed of combat arts and it makes a signifigant difference in the number of attacks you can get in.  Most combat arts have a casting time of 1 second I believe.

Haste applies only to autoattack,  casting speed applies to both spells and combat arts (and even tradeskill abilities and anything else with a cast time).  Even my call of the overlord worked faster on my brigand than my other classes.

Huh... interesting.  Learn something new every day I guess.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I was thinking mostly about inquisitors and their cast speed increase AA in the Int line. So I guess it would apply to the inquis's CAs from the EOF aa's. TheSpin wrote:
