Title says it all, what non-epic items from Kunark do you want to see made into HQs in the new expansion?  Having only played an SK to a high level in EQ, I can't think of any non-SK items from the expansion that might be included, but here is what I came up with!

  • Sarnak Battle Shield - For awhile it seemed like EVERYONE had this item.  It's the only no-brainer item I can think of.  If the devs missed putting this in as a HQ, shame on them!
  • Noctivgant Blade - Another popluar item.  It may have been for SKs only, but they made Ghoulbane an HQ usable for everyone, why not an iconic SK item from the expansion.

What do you think they will add?

Robe of the Whistling Fists would be cool.

Blade of the Black Dragon Eye(or was it green?  I forget the original)

Forest Loop

Fungi Tunic

Tranquil Staff

Wu's Trance Stick

And I don't remember the names, but that ice cream cone looking thing, and the book combo that every caster had.

Circlet of Shadows:   My shadowknight had the pre-nerf one.  It was sweet SMILEY Haylcon Broadsword:   I always wanted one of these but never got it to drop.

Fungi Tunic, hands down.

Also, ummm, maybe the final items from the EQ1 Iksar faction rewards? The upgradeable items that each class an Iksar could play as got, I mean.

Something involving Blue Diamonds.

I remember my group going absolutely bonkers whenever a Blue Diamond would drop in Old Sebilis.

Given the EPic weapon quests are being implemented...I wouldn't expect to see more than maybe one or two HQs.

Why?  The epic quest weapons will be (hopefully) designed for each class, whereas HQ's are different.  I like them because most of them bring back some good memories from EQ1, add some funish quests, and are either useful as items, or good house items.

The epic just brings back bad memories of camping Vox and Gorenaire for my white scale. SMILEY

for the same reason there was a severe lack of quests in KoS, due to the huge claymore quest line, the  24 epic weapon quest lines(which will be each a series of quests in order to accomplish the goal of having something for everyone who does the quest and not have the final reward locked away for raiders only) are going to be a serious drain on developer time, since you can be assured that they will be of a scope similar to HQs and the signature quests we have had previously.  I wouldn't expect them to be able to make more than a couple  of  HQs with all the other quests and activities they will be working on.

The reason why KoS lacked quests wasn´t Claymore but the fact the they only had little over 5 months(DoF released September 13, 2005 and KoS was released February 21, 2006) to produce that expansion. KoS lacked all kinds of quests and content. It was basicly a bloated adventure pack. You can see nice comparison on how much quest content the expansions have had by looking at number of quests per expansion from eq2i. DoF has 206 quests listed there, KoS 145 and EoF 500 I´m not saying that making the epic weapon quests won´t cut into time needed to make more heritages but KoS is extremely poor example.

As for HQ's there's too many to recount being a eq1 vet.

A little derail though, I would like to do another AQ type series of quest. It might not be appropriate but I did like doing those in my 20's. But more of what eq1 had ie., rangers = ivy etched, paladins = ro armor, etc..... Would have to create or rename a few for the classes that didnt exist in eq1 though.

Back to the HQ's....... just like the empowered ghoulbane would there be a way to introduce something similiar for the other older HQ's?? I really liked my ssoy and dirk but I outgrew them to fast.

I totally expect the Fungi Tunic for a HQ in Kunark.

The Sarnak Battle Shield also seems like it would be likely.

Maybe some of the stuff like jumpy's robe and the dagger...um I totally forgot what it was called that also dropped down there lol.

Desiccated Halfling Mask

More hours spent camping these than any other items in Kunark.  Would be awesome for people to enjoy them again through an HQ

Even though it isn't related to kunark, I'd like to see Amulet of Necropotence HQ added.

That dagger was Trak's fang, right? I remember there being 2 versions for some reason. One proc'd a nasty Poison or Disease effect IIRC.

For me personally I would like to see some items from EQOA get into EQ2 as heritage quest items.  One shield that was freakin sweet was a glowing shield that could only be gotten off griffons in the Everfrost Region near Permafrost.

Another item that would be sweet is seeing the rare glowing fists for monk/bruiser class or as a secondary/ranged item.

One item that I REALLY want to see is the death reaper sword *have to find the name*.  It had another name....but that name isn't appropriate for the forums.  SMILEY  It was a 2h sword and had a pretty sweet proc on it that was useable by the tank classes.

I have to agree with you.  I completely forgot about the Fungus Scale Tunic and Forest Loop.  Both very popular.

The only reason I don't agree with the Mace of Shadowed Souls, is because the Noctivgant Blade looked much better SMILEY

In response to the person who said the devs didn't add many HQs for KoS due to Claymore line, did KoS have a full year of development?  If it didn't, that may have played into it as well.  DoF didn't have many HQs either.  I do agree that few HQs may occur due to the epic quests, but I hope it isn't the case.

Sarnak Battle Sheild

Noctivigant Blade

Mace of the Shadowed Soul

Atramentous Sheild

Blade of the Black Dragon Eye

Treeweave

But most of all....

L A M E N T A T I O N

How about HQ armor sets?  A chain of HQ quests with the various steps awarding another piece of armor such as Tolan's Darkwood Armor, Singing Steel, etc....
